this one is actually a series 1 3800. i have a series 2 in my impala (i got a new car). it is a great engine, i put it on a rolling road and it actually produces 211 HP!
no all you guys are wrong, my dad had this same exact car and he gave it to my uncle. And someone rear ended him and his muffler got dented in and that thing was EXTREMELY LOUD!! we set off like 10 car alarms driving that thing, it was sick. lol
It's possible. Put headers on the 3800. I ran my 3800 in a Bonneville with stock exhaust manifolds but a 3" downpipe. It was pretty loud. Then I put back the exhaust after I was done with the downpipe installation. Overall, not too bad. Get some SLP knockoff headers from eBay, run them right into the rear collector but no farther, and you should be good with the O2 senors still working.
pre sure mines louder. on the highway yesterday my pipe broke just infront of the cat and now its sooooo loud i literally need ear plugs to drive, especially when i accelorate.
@driftmcvey Shit, the same thing happened to my 99 lesabre. But I'm just going to leave it. People think I'm driving a v8 challenger until they turn around anyway it's awesome
yea i have a 97 le sabre with 3800 v6 3.8l its slow as fuck my 04 sable with 24v dohc burns that shit but my wife drives the merc and im stuck with slow shit im a ford guy anyway but she got the buick for free soooooo whatever but ur car sounds good

i got a buick way louder than that. 1992 Roadmaster with dual thrush mufflers. a 3800 has nothing on th 5.7L 350
