2:14 I felt this so much. Often times I see myself having to secretly take my inhaler whenever I’m having asthma problems. Idk why taking an inhaler is looked down upon and joked about by so many people. It’s one of those diseases that can go downhill fast.

I also take an inhaler and the pills, but I also am on a breathing machine atm because im sick, I have to be on it all day and night everytime I get sick and its annoying. so I guess I do get what a more serious side of asthma is... its not fun, people also don't like me because of it, maybe because in so many movies they have the asthma kid or adult as some sort of nerd or freak...… arggggg

This video was great. It showed the social stigma attached to those with asthma. I have severe asthma and people around me don't realize that you can literally die from an attack if it isn't handled properly. People give me shit about me having to use an inhaler often, but I know that it may be what saves me during an attack.

    This makes me cry😔
I remember last night I'm having an asthma attack and taking my inhaler and my colleagues are acting like they don't care and asked my other workmate if she was okay while ignoring me like it was just an acting so they just ignore me and to make me feel useless and like I'm not existing they ask my other workmate if she was okay while I'm listening. People in this world is so cruel😞

    • @marciturner4980
      @marciturner4980 Рік тому

Join the club. I and ignored from everyone in general. They act as if they care by: sending law enforcement over to my house to do a welfare check instead of them coming over themselves. They only call to get info from the police, gossip. I caught on after a next door neighbor said she was just going to call the police to do a welfare check on me after AI went to ER for heart problems, have 7 all together that are officially diagnosed. Going to heart specialist in a few months for those other one that was on heart tests, but never got included in the official 7 diagnosed. And another 2 as well, which is not planned to also get checked out. If included, I would be officially diagnosed with 10 heart problems instead of just 7 right now. And then months later when police came out again for something else, weeks later I mentioned that to someone while visiting, he said, yeah, she told me you had both doors wide open, all windows open, and you were busy on your computer when she walked up to your door and saw you through your open window. That's when I put the 2 together in why neighbors are always calling the police:
      1. get detailed info about me in what's going on.
      2. Gossip after getting infos from the police to other neighbors.
But I instantly put a stop with the police by having the dispatcher asking the callers if they have went over themselves first. And if they say no, to go over there themselves. And if they still need us then call us back. It has most likely worked.
      How do I know?
      1. Neighbor observes my yard and notices me, she says hi.
      2. Haven't had police stop by every few months since.
I am ignored by everyone. I receive help from no one. They only come to see what's going on when medical emergency is going on. Gawkers to gossipers. I am ignored by my parents and relatives for years, never calls. When I'm the one that had to call them. Always ignored while growing up, my brother is their favorite, still is. When I had called in the past mom always made up lies just to get off the phone with me. They never call me. I had enough so I stopped calling permanently. Just recently a few weeks ago when I just called because of not literally feeling good, nausea and physical pains all over body from Hepatitis B after finding out that I got it, shortly after asking her how we handled sickness while I was a kid, I have not been sick like that for years, so that's why I called to ask her. And once I told her I was vomiting while talking to her on phone, she asked, you are vomiting now?!!!! And second I said yes, she wanted to get off the phone instantly. I had the cellphone on speaker while sitting on and using toilet, and had the bucket with me on my lap. The cell phone was laying on my sink counter next to me. She does that to me, but weeks earlier when I told her about going to ER 3 tomes close together, she said I could have called and told her I was in ER. I asked which one, same day ER or committed to stay in ER for a few days? She said either one. So I have no support from anyone period. And I am treated as if I don't even exist for years now. I am physically dead while still existing in flesh. It's to the point I just want to physically kill myself because of constantly ignored, wasting time in existence. Have no job, tried to apply for some but none would hire me. So I gave up applying. The only living souls that actually pays attention to me are my to males orange tabby cats. One that came staying with me a few months ago is more affectionate and sociable. At least that's better then not having any at all, which I am very grateful for. But not good enough. Once they pass on, they are 7 and 9 years now, unrelated, I am going to be completely isolated from living souls permanently.

At 12 years old, I tried playing tag with the rest of my neighborhood kids, and I didn’t want to stop even thought I needed to, I wanted to be just like the rest, and I got on the playground swing and I immediately broke down crying as my chest and upper back started to feel as if I was being crushed between two boulders. Thank god my friends were there, otherwise I would’ve had to crawl to upstairs apartment, while suffocating.
I pray to everyone who has any illness that disables them to live stress free, during this pandemic. We are all vulnerable, but together we are strong.

    I had devastating attacks myself..
    A simplistic yet effective cure.
    1) An asthmatic tends to breathe through the mouth and does not press his lips together.
    2) Normal lip pressure relaxes chest airways and overcomes asthma.
    3) Finger pressure on a lip shows this.
This opens up lung airways by acupressure. This makes sense. Lip pressure is so important for love and the martial arts as well as asthma. That is the way I cured my asthma. Sleeping with your mouth closed is important.

This video reminds me of when I was in my old flat to go through stuff when finishing moving out, and I had my worst asthma attack to this day there, and it was of course on a day where I had forgotten my salbutamol inhaler at home, the inhaler I normally always have in my left jeans pocket... Luckily I was just moving within the neighborhood so I could be home within minutes, but driving the car back to parking lot (had it parked outside as I was indenting to bring things home too) and then getting home, was not an easy feat! When I checked my oxygen levels with my pulseoximeter while waiting for my inhaler to do its thing at home, my oxygen levels were at about 85% and all I could do while waiting for the inhaler to work was to just sit down and focus on breathing and trying to not cough or panic. My asthma attacks can be anything from wheezing and/or coughing fits, to just being short of breath and/or have the feeling of something tight around my chest or heavy on my chest. I used to only really need inhalers during hay fever season and very sporadically other times of the year, but now I need them daily and my asthma is even reacting to just cold air these days. Cold and rainy day outside may well mean I’m struggling with my asthma even though I’m just at home where it’s nice and warm, the air from outside still affects me... Just in the process of changing inhalers now from Easyhaler to Autohaler as I find the powder types to be irritating for my airways, hoping spray form will work better...
Really need to work on taking my inhaler in public though, I’m really shy about it even after over 15 years of having asthma, heck, I even mute my microphone when I need my inhaler while chatting on phone with my best friend who’s also asthmatic and he takes his inhaler without muting his microphone if he needs his inhaler...
I’m not ashamed of my asthma, I’m just shy about taking my inhalers around people... Yet if I need to take my painkillers around people, I have no issues with that, and if I had been diabetic I’d likely not have any issues with managing the diabetes in public, but using my inhaler in public or even in front of family is just so awkward for some reason, and it really shouldn’t be! I’d like to at least get past that mental block I have, and take my inhaler as needed while chatting with my best friend and not mute my microphone to do it...

    • @marciturner4980
      @marciturner4980 Рік тому

First off, these are child, your husband is not. Second, kids are more active and energetic. Your husband is not as children are; running and jumping around. Third, children most likely has different Asthma than your husband does; different Asthmas has different limitations for each activity. Those children most likely has Exercise-Induced Asthma which is common which prevents them from physical activities that they really want to do. While your husband mist likely has a different kind of Asthma which is why he "can do normal activities" unlike others who claims things are difficult for them unlike your husband. Fourth, r here is no one Asthma. There are many Asthmas out there. I have 5:
      1. Exercise-Induced Asthma
      2. Onset Asthma
      3. Cold air-Induced Asthma
      4. Laughing-Induced Asthma
      5. Now just this past Sunday night Crying-Induced Asthma.
So just because your husband has one specific Asthma, it does not mean children has the same Asthma as your husband does. So keep your damn hole shut since you don't know these kids personally, and you have no clue in which Asthmas they personally have. Most kids nowadays are only told they have mild, moderate, or severe Asthma. Doctors no longer calls Asthmas by their actual names. Proof in how I know:
      1. My doctor who used to give me Xolair injections told me so when discussing about me and my Asthmas.
      2. Asked few people which Asthma they have. They said they don't know.
      3. I go through different symptoms with each five. I know which one is coming on and are caused from. So shut up and say nothing when in disagreement of something since you don't know a damn thing about strangers you never met.

Even with severe asthma, and bad conditions, I can wheeze and struggle through all situations. It doesn't kill you in 5 minutes if you don't take a puff of albuterol. It's just really really rough and unpleasant. Extremely uncomfortable. Sometimes the inhaler barely helps..

I let them work themselves out. Onset has been continuing since it instantly kicked in from first Crying Induced. I never coughed and wheeze after long crying of 2.5 hrs for years. First time ever this Sunday evening after crying extremely hard off and on all day long since first waking and getting up for the day. And Onset Asthma has been on and off throughout the day and night ever since, including still today 10:16 am of Thursday 8/17/23. Am am still refusing to use inhaler. No life-threatening emergency, no inhaler use.

first mistake opening sense spacer spacer spacer
the inhaler is nothing without the spacer
the point of using the spacer with the inhaler is too get the medication deeper down into the lungs
if u use just the inhaler it just stays in your mouth or stays in your stomach not going into the lungs as needed for it
ok im really glad too see him using a spacer with his inhaler
now if u have too use your inhaler what 6 times or more go to the hospital
if u are using your inhaler what many times 1.your fighting it thats really bad 2.thats a sign your about too go onto a worse asthma attach 3.once u go into i cant breath stage your anxiety will kick inn an anxiety an asthma do not mix well

How the Hell would you feel if you couldn't Breathe, yeah a Fish out of Water I wanted so bad to fight those Two Boy's. I probably got more Mad then I should, but I've stopped Breathing at times due to an Asthma Attack it ain't Fun for the Asthmatic or their Family. People portray Asthma so very different then it actually is, so people don't think it's that Bad when in reality Respiratory Illness is one of the Top Causes of Death in the United States.

Asthma is not a good thing, when you have an asthma attack, no one understands what pain we are suffering from asthma. When I had my first asthma attack, I really didn't know what was happening to me, my whole body was shaking and I was trying so hard to breathe, the only thing on my mind was I didn't want to live like this. I just want to die at once. It felt like when you are climbing a mountain and the oxygen level is getting low and you have no oxygen cylinder to support you. Now inhaler is our hero, I can't imagine without inhaler, I am completely dependent on it. Best thing I'm allergic to.
    And I'm medical student 😅
