I'm fkn dead 😂. Hollerd st this lol
Fr 💀
Kinda sad if u think about it
WOW LOL
This is a message I hope young people see. I’m so passionate about taking care of teeth now because I’ve had to literally and figuratively pay for past mistakes as an adult. My parents didn’t take me to the dentist for about 12 years after I threw a tantrum at the dentist when I was five (I’d embarrassed them). They didn’t give me the skills to look after my teeth at home - I had never seen dental floss until I was an adult. They didn’t make sure I was cleaning my teeth, and so I didn’t clean them much. I had to beg them to take me to the dentist when I was 17 after a piece of my tooth came off. I decided to take my oral health seriously when I was in my 20s, and it meant multiple cleanings to reverse early periodontal disease, many fillings, wisdom teeth extraction, and braces. For years now I have been super diligent with cleaning my teeth, and my dentist tells me how healthy my gums are and how good a job I’m doing keeping everything clean. However, despite all that work and money, I’ve just had to have root canal on a front tooth because the deep fillings required have slowly killed the nerve. My dentist tells me there was nothing I did wrong in the last few years. It all stems from not taking care of my teeth as a child; the damage was done and I could not reverse it as an adult, no matter how much I changed my habits. Please, take care of your teeth from when you’re a kid, because you will absolutely regret it as an adult if you don’t.
Wow, I’m so sorry to hear all of this. I’m glad things are going better and you were able to (mostly) correct your situation. You probably already know this, but none of this is your fault. Your parents, however, are fully to blame. Refusing to take your five-year-old kid to the dentist for twelve years because they embarrassed you is textbook neglect. Kids that age don’t have a full understanding of normal social behaviors-it isn’t fair to be punished for something your developing brain couldn’t yet grasp…
@@Coochellati Neglect is definitely the right word. There are parents with children who have specific situations like autism that make dental visits very difficult for the child (and adult), and those parents still make sure to adhere to a good dentist visit schedule (just with a dentist who's equipped to make those visits easier for those children, hopefully). A single tantrum is not an excuse to neglect a child's teeth. Glad you got yourself back on track with dental care. Even though you can't undo the damage done to your mouth as a child, still, you have saved yourself a *lot* of grief with your efforts.
Thank you both for your kind words. I fully agree, it was neglect. They didn’t do their jobs as parents. Sadly, I didn’t recognise that at the time, but as an adult I look back and can connect the dots. It makes me really angry to be honest. I often say to my husband after a dental appointment, “Should we send the bill to my parents?” - a joke, of course, but a sad one. I’m hoping this will be my only root canal, but who knows?
The one benefit, though, is when you do all this for yourself as an adult (braces in particular), you value the investment so much more and it makes you really take care of your teeth well because it was your money and your effort that went into it.
Nearly identical to what happened to me. Some parents need to take their kids oral hygiene more seriously. It's not something that's going to fix itself as you grow.
I'm in the same boat, my parents stopped taking me as well because I would throw fits and I had zero knowledge of proper dental care.
you know hes serious when he doesnt start with the "PAHHHHHH"
Fr
I was like “oh naw” when he didn’t do it
and it isnt a short
How do people watch this guy? He's so annoying
I’ve been a dentist for 43 years. I’ve seen this exact thing a bazillion times. Listen to this man. He is right on the money.
Appreciate the honesty in your videos, it's rare these days
My stepmom is a dental hygienist and there isn’t even a day I can’t go without brushing
Good! ❤
I haven’t brushed in months. I’m 22, but damn near all my teeth are gone, other than my bottom fronts and like a little of my top fronts, but other than that it’s completely fucked. Didn’t think I would still be alive , so that was part of the reason, but god , I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It will probably be what causes me to finally end my existence as it’s so painful, so embarrassing and EXTREMELY expensive.
@@tripical lool I'm guessing you're a girl and more power to you. The more girls with fked up teeth the more humble they will be

@@tripicalum don’t do that, u can get new ones
Our healthcare system needs a serious revamp when it costs $50k to get implants and dentures. It should be affordable for most people without the scam which is insurance.
yes, I paid for my mother in law to get implants in Brazil, it was less than 10kdolars. It is expensive there too, but a lot of people invest in oral hygiene there. The professionals in brazil are really good.
It's all part of American healthcare. It's for the very rich, they are the only ones who can get the healthcare our level of technology is actually capable of
Implants are major surgeries on your entire jaw. Regular dentures alone arent that expensive. A few thousand at most.
Reminds me of a little cousin I have. He hated brushing his teeth, and his mom was okay with it because, well she didn’t like to brush her teeth either. He would hate coming over because I made him shower and brush his teeth. He older now and he basically will need dentures in the next few years. He’s only 20😢
So sad, I used to be work friends with a guy who was 23 and his teeth were completely rotten, swollen and white gums, he wouldn't brush because it hurt too much
@@SkyeFoxx_15 poor kid. I bet it’s painful too!
@@RS33381 He wouldn't complain but I knew it was painful, he was a cool dude and I felt for him. I hope your cousin is doing ok 💜
Omg. My cousin’s son has the same issue. She just sends him straight to bed at night meanwhile he’s only 6 y.o..she’s supposed to help him w brushing.
It’s sad bc his breath smells so sour sometimes. And yes, I tried to talk to her abt it…
@@AleahLeah He's going to have terrible health problems before he's even an adult 😥 I know it's not your kid but you can say something to child services anonymously, he deserves better care 💔
Who else developed the habit of flossing daily because of The Bentist?
Bruhhhh😢😂them shorts man
I bought a waterpik at least
Bruh literally me
I brush teeth rather naturally (like bushmen) but I'd still do brushing. I indeed care about dental hygiene and much about fresh breath. I don't eat crap everyday too.
But I don't floss.
Visiting a dentist just for checkups once per 6 months regularly and my teeth are pretty healthy. Rarely having anything to do
Nah i developed it from braces
Teeth are basically luxury bones to the insurance community. Brush your teeth, kids, especially if you don't come from money because even with dental insurance it's expensive af to fix anything.
When I was a kid I had a friend of mine make a mean comment about my teeth being dirty and it probably saved me a LOT of suffering because I never went a day without brushing again after that, I'm 43 now and I've never had a cavity. Also I was lucky enough to have a good dentist who took the time to really show me the right way to brush after that.
Dental hygiene is overlooked so much here in the states. When it's a top contributor to our overall health
Just yank your rotten teeth and get dentures and you're have the cleanest most whitest looking teeth on your block...
As a dental assistant.
I have seen terrible hygiene in younger people for some reason, extracting a lot of teeth and wasting lots of money for implants. The scary thing is that you could also lose your implants if you still have terrible hygiene, they’re not a foolproof solution
Often its because of mental health issues that are unsolved. When you don't even feel like you want to live it's hard to have motivation to brush your teeth and have good hygiene etc
@@Jay_TheBirb09 yea i can agree, but ive seen very happy people that just dont which is weird
@@faidaimaidai could be phobia related or some kind of traumatic event that enables their unhealthy behavior
@@faidaimaidai for lots of autistic people it can be a terrible experience to brush, happy or not.
But also, just because they seem happy to you when you see them, does not mean they are happy. We're very good at hiding depression.
@@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 yes, at the clinic ive seen a correlation in that when we have an autistic patient, it can be very hard for them sometimes
This man really loves what he does. The sincerity and care in his voice lets me know that he genuinely cares about the health of our teeth and just wants us to live our best lives. I appreciate you Bentist! God bless you!
It is very important to take depression seriously. Mental disorders can destroy your happy life. To everyone who happened this: It was not your fault. It is your brain. As soon as you get out of there you can fix it. Love yourself. It is hard but I just wanted to spread awareness appereantly some people in the comments can't understand
I do believe they go hand-in-hand, but individuals do shoulder some blame.
I have clinical depression but I'll never not look after my teeth out of respect for others around me. They shouldn't have to put up with the stench.
That breath must be KICKIN
Who has good breath? There's a reason breath fresheners like mints. gums and mouthwash is a multi-billion dollar industry... You think your breath don't stink when you first wake up in the morning! You're ignorant! Jajajahahahaha!!!
My mom lost her teeth in her late 40s early 50s, all of them. The roots came loose (she is a "mild" smoker, always has been, but she took care of herself, it's not like an extreme). Due to pregnancy she lost 3 upper teeth and had a little small denture with 3 teeth on it, for literally years without problems. But then in her 40/50s... She had bad (and I mean bad) osteoporosis (post-menopausal), because I feel no-one talks about this in women, it is a real issue. Due to that she could not get implants (they wouldn't touch it) and dentures were her only option. She is now going to be 79 and yes, the past decade, the bone has shrunken immensely. And what also no one addresses is how bad, literally terrible, bottom dentures are. Your tongue is right there and so it's a little strip of teeth that no-one can comfortably wear. I mean there has to be a solution to that at least. The first thing my mom does when coming back in the house is remove the bottom ones and stick them in the jar. And that's what my gran and her mom before her did. My gran even threw them on the table every time she came in. How they never broke is beyond me. They *are* super annoying. Forget all those "neat" commercials where people with dentures bite into a hard green apple. All I have to say is... yeah, right. As if. It's like eating with something, a barrier, in your mouth. PITA. Avoid them if you can, *at all costs* because they are the worst! I see this with my mom. It's why my dad doesn't want them and is hanging in there with his 4/5 bottom teeth. OMG. A tale onto itself. LOL But anyway, I had braces, and braces and then some more braces (the loose kind and the fixed brackets). I had terrible overgrowth and an open bite. But at age, almost, 52, I have all my teeth, bar one root canal and a do-up with composite. But that's not bad, and yes, looking after what you got is *super duper important* because I see the path I'm not wanting to take any time soon. My grandpa always told us kids, 'the longer you can keep your own teeth, the better". And those life-lessons matter.
My dad never had any of those issues, he's never mentioned dentures bothering him - but he has had them since 21 due to an illness.
@@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 I think your dad is lucky. I am very close with my folks, though and they do share things like this willingly and voluntarily. Some folks don't talk about extremely personal things with their kids; not saying that's the case with you, but sometimes it takes a little asking & prodding on your part.
I 100% agree you should do anything in your power to keep your teeth happy but dentures shouldn't be as uncomfortable and loose as you're saying. My father was a dental technician and he said that many people have poorly fitting dentures.
@@RebeccaGogovcev my mother has the same issues with her newly fitted ones as she did her old ones, also dental work is extremely expensive and outside of the regular health care system in Belgium and so many put off getting them refitted especially older folks like people in their 70s and so on.
@@RebeccaGogovcev They are not loose, if you've never worn bottom dentures, please don't think you know.
It is fascinating. Teeth can rot so quickly when we are alive, and are most resistant to decay after death. Think of all the teeth archaeologists find.
peoples diets are expediting dental decay!! There's added sugar in everything!
bcoz bacterias thrive better in a living body with the presence of saliva n minerals n food scrap😂
@@Ceciliaccc882 Exactly, a dead person isn't really going to be chewing on anything 😂
mainly cause a dead person doesn't consume junk that literally demolishes your teeth overtime
@@Ceciliaccc882 Still a good question, that the ancestors have good teeth and they didnt need to brush their teeth everyday like the modern people do. Even they didn't live long, still had perfect teeth at 25-30 years compare to the video of a young woman.
It's diet problem. We have plenty anti-bacterial vegetables and roots, yet junk food and added sugar are dominating.
when I wake up in the morning I feel disgusting cos I haven’t brushed my teeth in 12 hrs, this is a whole new level 😂

You'd be insane to put implants into someone that can't even maintain their own teeth properly.
I understand that implants would take more work than natural teeth, but would you or someone else care to elaborate on this?
@@zoyadulzura7490 good oral hygiene is essential for implants otherwise they will rot right out of your mouth.
@@zoyadulzura7490if the implant fails, you have to get it extracted.
@@zoyadulzura7490 implants have a metal spike drilled into the jaw and skull bones. When a person with these spikes doesn't perform oral hygiene, bone infections occur. Dentures without stabilizing spikes would be used for people who refuse to care for their mouth.
I've seen cases of recovered drug addicts turn their lives around and get those dental implants so they can look and feel like normal people again. That is pretty much what I thought they were for. LOL
It's crazy how quickly things can spiral out of control when you stop taking care of your teeth. I never realized how skipping brushing could lead to such serious consequences.
The part about teeth literally breaking off when brushing is terrifying. And to think this happened to someone so young! It's a wake-up call for sure.
I appreciate how Ben broke down the snowball effect - from not brushing to bleeding gums to more pain to even less brushing. It makes total sense, but I never thought about it that way before.
The info about dentures was eye-opening too. I had no idea that without implants, your face could change shape as you get older. That's wild!
The cost of fixing everything is insane - $50,000 for implant-supported dentures?! That really puts into perspective how important daily care is.
This video definitely motivated me to step up my dental hygiene game. Gonna make sure I brush and floss religiously from now on. Thanks for sharing this important message!
I had a dental implant last year on one tooth. Broke the tooth from a tongue ring. It was the least painful dental procedure I ever had. 4 grand tho...for 1 tooth
Be grateful you have bone to hold an implant l do not
$50k?!!? Every time I watch his vids I go floss and brush my teeth lol
Just get dentures they are cheap and don't require surgeries... That's only if you're doing the fancy work which takes full jaw operations where they got to put you out with the laughing gas which ain't cheap these days son!!!!!!
I lost my beautiful teeth at the age of 27 due to complications from cancer treatments. The dentist i went to showed me the horrible pics of what i would look like if I didn’t get implants. How my face would collapse on itself due to the bone wasting away from not being stimulated. The posts that were to be drilled into my jawbone were $5k a piece. I could only afford two, tho he insisted i needed a minimum of eight. I got the two in my bottom front as the arch of the top creates a suction which stabilizes the top denture. That was ten years ago. He was right about the bone wasting away. It has. But he was wrong when he said the posts would prevent it. It has shrunk equally everywhere. I saw him a couple months ago (first time since the original surgery) to see if the posts need to be replaced as i was getting a new set of dentures. I asked him why the bones disintegrated with the posts in them. He said, “there could be a ton of reasons.” And left it at that. Why would metal posts “activate” or “stimulate” bone like a nerve would? Makes no sense to me
Braces changed my habits big time and I don’t know how I dealt before..
I was a solid one time a day brushed but didn’t floss and only brushed the once and I was thorough about it but it’s different now. I also didn’t go to a dentist for 20 years (no insurance so it was financial)
Flossing and brushing after every meal and drinking anything other than water. Since I started doing that and seeing how much stuff was leftover in my teeth, I’ll never go back to lazy brushing again.
It’s actually embarrassing knowing I walked around all those years thinking I was doing enough because I didn’t really see blood and it didn’t hurt when I brushed. But below the gums was a mess.
After going through a root canal which finally resulted in extraction and then perio plus braces it’s a night and day difference.
So glad I got right and the last 2 years I’ve had to do a LOT of catchup.
TLDR: Brush and floss your teeth, go to the dentist. It’s worth it
After braces, wisdom teeth removal, and various fixes over the years. I just invested too much money into my teeth to not care about my oral health.
I’ve started brushing my teeth a lot more, and flossing because of you. Thank you!
I’m so glad my mum told me to brush my teeth every morning and night
A hot minute, more like a hot year.
I was taught to look after my teeth from a young age and went to the dentist regularly. As an adult, I couldn’t afford it but I kept up my cleaning routine. Finally I went to the dentist, expecting fillings and root canals etc and nothing: after 30 years my teeth were perfect.
who else put a reminder to floss 2x a day in their phone 😂
Good idea
You know it’s bad when he doesn’t go bahahahahahh
Watching this really makes me want to continue to brush my teeth and keep them healthy as long as possible. Great video. And seeing that womans teeth made get a little sick in the stomach.
Thats honestly unbelievable. I'm 34 and have NEVER had a cavity in my entire life even as a kid. I floss once everyday and brush my teeth only ONCE a day cuz literally thats all you need and my teeth are extremely healthy and white BUT I spend a full 3-5 minutes brushing and angles matter. The amount of people that dont understand brush angles when brushing is disgusting and sad
Thank you so much Bentist! I suffer with chronic nausea from medications I'm on for life and the toothpaste, and I've tried so many, they all make me throw up..... so it made me stop brushing my teeth as an adult. But hearing you say I could brush my teeth without toothpaste and that would be better than nothing...... I'm literally going to start doing this. And look if anyone has any suggestions for toothpaste that might not make me throw up I'm all ears!
Again thank you so muc Bentist! ❤
Is it a flavour thing? You're not swallowing it are you?
I know the company hismile has made a genius move and released toothpaste of other flavours (you'll be surpised how many people can't stand mint, it's rough for them. Terrible it took so long)- it's a bit expensive though.
Maybe you can try childrens toothpaste, I remember it being really mild - used to be called "milk teeth"
You could probably even find the stuff they use at the dentists which doesn'thave strong flavour either- maybe ask if they have suggestions.
I also avoid brushing my tongue because that personally makes me nauseous.
And mouthwash, the listerine green tea actually taste like green tea, it's nice. Or biotene.
You could also try doing stuff that reduces nausea first - like drinking ginger or peppermint tea.
Bro I was watching your shorts rn
The main reason I’m subscribed to you is to remind my self to brush
I go to the dentist every 6 months and they always tell me that I have amazing teeth. Never had braces either. Although I had to get molar work done. Seeing stories like this keeps me motivated. 🤙
Awww now this was sweet how adamant he was about brushing and flossing.
I ran, did not walk, straight to the comments lol
My sister almost never brushes and she has never had a cavity in her life @33 years old. Im jelly of her because I have to keep up on my brushing if I don't want to get cavities, and even when I do keep up on it, I still get some now and then.
She might just have a good microbiome in her mouth
I saw something I think the Bentist said in a video. It all depends on what type of bacteria is on your teeth. You get it if someone has bad bacteria and they kiss you or somehow you get their “mouth” on your mouth. And then the bacteria starts to decay the teeth and poop acid which ruins the teeth.
@@Kopeboy22well, there is a thing where the particular bacteria needs to get introduced, but most people get it from their mom very early on--it's near impossible to avoid it in the long run
This sounds more like the genetic thing where some people are basically immune to caries. You're still not immune to all other tooth issues, however
Love the vids bentist
I never knew how important brushing and flossing was until I got braces

My teeth were not this bad, but could have gotten here had I not desperately found an understanding and kind dental office. Bad, crumbling, brushing caused horrible anxiety. Good news is that mine were fixable! It happened because of sugary drinks, lack of flossing, and dental care. It was horrifying and got bad SO fast. Covid depression made it rapidly decline.
10k worth of dental work so far (2 root canals, four crowns) and Bentist is right, it’s not worth it. Take care of your teeth! It’s awful and embarrassing to have bad teeth and it’s preventable! I am 35 and lucky my teeth were mostly salvageable. Even if you’re embarrassed or think there is no hope, GO! The body is incredibly resilient and modern dentistry has come so far!
I be learning a lot on this channel
You have got to be the best dentist I have ever watched in my life. You are my favorite. and you make me laugh every single time you make a video keep it up❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
I had a friend who rarely brushed their teeth (depression, i've been there myself, luckily my teeth held on) and had multiple rotten and decayed teeth in their mouth. Basically only their front teeth seemed ok (at least on the surface). Hr said the local anesthesia doesn't work for them so that's why they don't want to go to the dentist, which, fair. But my understanding kinda stops when their mom promises to pay for the whole operation, which would be done under anesthesia and they still just won't go through with it. I haven't talked to him in over a seven months since i cut ties with him so idk what his current situation is. But i do wonder if he will end up with dentures.
My teeth betray me so bad and I take care of them so good 😢
I actually developed what I thought was tooth sensitivity but it was actually my gums from brushing too hard when I noticed some recession. Brushing with 2 fingers on the brush and flossing made the swelling go down quickly but can’t do much about the ridge on one of my teeth
dawg how hard were you brushing? like full strength?
1:59 That man said 50,000 dollars for dentures.
As someone who kind of went through this due to PTSD..i had no drive or even the thought of brushing my teeth just wasn't on my mind for a few years. This doesn't mean i didnt brush AT ALL.. the frequency just slow down because of the mental state I live in. Now my teeth are falling apart and I struggle with opiate addiction so going to the dentist and them giving me painkillers (that wont work because im tolerant) will definitely affect my sobriety. Im in a horrible catch 22. 😢 And for anyone super sensitive teeth out there I recommend hydrogen peroxide instead of toothpaste.. even the sugar in my toothpaste makes the pain so intense I can't deal with it. The hot and cold sensitivity is so bad as well. I also deal with a terrible overbite and that makes my teeth grind on each other as well. My teeth are actually in pain as we speak😢 and I'll probably be in pain by the time anyone reads this.
My parents didnt take me to the dentist A SINGLE time. I didnt go until i was like 21. Luckily i only had to get one tooth pulled. I'm 37 now with many crowns and finally braces. I think a lot of it is you're embarrassed by even the word DENTIST if you havent gone in that long. I thought that the dentist would get upset or something because my teeth sucked. Thats a legit fear i believe to the "snowball effect" Bentist was talking about. You get more reasons to not go than to go. JUST GO! When you're kids its not your fault if you didnt get dental care. They wont treat you any different.
it's comments like these that make me grateful my mother takes me to the dentist every 6 months, however we're nothing but mere test customers you could say? they pay her to take my siblings and i there. I haven't had a bad experience.. yet. hoping it stays that way.
It was legit fear. My parents had terrible experience with dentists in 70's - 80's, no local anaesthetic, lack of options and alloy with mercury as filling for real?
They brought me as pre-teen to dental care first time at around 2000, because my one front tooth was cut broken by falling on ice ground. My parents learned, that the dentist technology has vastly changed. After me, my younger sibling got sent to dental care annually. Today, they have much better diagnose and a lot option to save your tooth instead of pulled out indiscriminately.
I’ll lowkey never understand how people who don’t brush their teeth lol, especially in the morning lol, like I hate the way my mouth feels before I brush my teeth in the morning lol
I ain't missing an evening again
if i miss brushing my teeth once it feels so gross that i have to go brush them. I don't understand how people can go without brushing.
my toddlers have to be limited on their brushing or they will brush their teeth every hour or two. I was finding it frustrating now i'm thinking it's a good thing my kids like brushing their teeth so much.
My 20 month old uses those toothpick flosser thingies already between the few teeth he has. I use them (due to nerve damage in my hands i can't manage to use regular floss) so my kids want to use them as well.
Should i be limiting how often they can floss too? Or are they fine to floss throughout the day as they desire?
I've been working on bettering my oral hygiene for the past few months and even tho I don't brush and floss multiple times every day (still more that before) I've seen progress towards my gingivitis. Even if ya'll aren't brushing multiple times a day, every now and then still helps a lot 👍
I been in dentures for a year and I love them. I wouldn’t get implantes if someone gave them for me for free. I can eat anything I want now without worrying about pain. I hate when all these dentists insist that you get implants and look down on you if you don’t.
I must go and brush and floss my teeth right now, thank you lol.
I have gingivitis and no cavities. How long do i have to brush and floss for it to go away?
Hey bentist. I need advice on something. I have an extra tooth growing in the middle of my mouth. What should I do?
Where I live, it's 80k for an upper and lower hybrid. I wish this treatment was available to everyone who needs it, but unfortunately it is not.
My kids knew they had to brush twice daily, they liked it. From a very young age I started taking them to the dentist just to get them used to it. Now that they are adults, they continue taking care of their teeth.
i sadly have bad teeth... loosing the top at age 30, i had my teeth started to rot aroudn 14, i think its medications im on that really caused them to rot so fast, but the dentures... is much more of a relief than the pain i was in... i dotn have a bottom one yet... but even those teeth are rotting out very fast... it might also be because im immune compromised, nto sure... but regardless how much i try to use listerine and brush... they still seem to rot away..
Thank you for the importance of this video Bentist. 😮😮😮😮
I haven't been to the dentist for over 4 years. No cavities and the dentist was surprised at the lack of tartar. I did have a tooth from 30 years ago that died from a impact . I needed a root canal because it got infected.
I got my dentures at the age of 20 (I am 32 years old now). It was in all honesty the best decision I ever made. They're not drilled in. Just traditional dentures. The amount of confidence I gained was insane on day one and I've never looked back. I disagree that they're difficult to deal with. In fact some of the best moments I've had were when people realized my teeth were fake lol.
You know what I think I might have to start remembering to brush. I do not want to lose my teeth even if they are pretty good.
when i was younger i wasnt really "taught" to brush my teeth (parents divorce, hard times etc), so i didnt really do that, for years.... this went on till my like my 20s, where i brush a couple of weeks and then just simply forget to do it and then months go by and i would do it again some time.
But never did my teeth look like this, barely calculus even but they did turn a bit yellowish thats all, wonder how that happens to someone like me that barely brushed? i guess some people just develop it more than others?
But a year or 2 now i am keeping up with brushing, sometimes forget it a day during weekends when im away or so
Nice
Bro’s teeth became chewing gum😂😂😂😂😂ps- I love you bentist❤❤❤
Imagine your her bf and feeling kissing those ancient teeth
I'm very texture sensitive...I can't stand plaque once I feel it...I have to brush!
Hiiiiii I love your videos ❤

I'm really glad i cam across this video
I remember how mom looked without her dentures.
Implants can be troublesome if your jaw isn't strong....have an aunt whose jaw didn't take the bone grafts and she ended up with dentures and regrets it. At least her bottom has a partial
It doesn't sound like she was a good candidate for implants if that happend to her, I'm so sorry because that sucks 👎
I wish someone had told me this when I was a child. My parents didn't do a great job at teaching things, but even when dentists told me I had gingivitis they never explained what it actually means in the bigger picture. For 20-25 years I really thought it only meant bleeding without any other repercussions and therefore didn't really pay attention to it 🥲 I also had no idea how big consequences even the drilling of cavities has (e.g. weakening the tooth every time). And I was 28 years old when I learned that flossing is essential (that brushing cleans only 50-60% of the plague) and not just something people do to fight bad breath. And so on...
I have no idea why these things flew over my head, but I hate the fact that it was even possible. The basics of dental hygiene should shortly be taught in elementary school just in case.
Always visit a dental hygienist if you need excess calculus removed, they also have great tips for brushing and keeping your teeth clean afterwards. It can be extremely difficult to keep it up when life is hard, but it's really worth it ♥️
I’m happy I brush my teeth before seeing this 😅
I lost my appetite 😍😍
You are 100% right about it snowballing. I never got to her level, but i used to not brush for months at a time. Now ive gotta live with permanent stain rings around where my braces used to be. It wasnt until i moved out alone that i started caring about my health and hygine. Im disgusted by who i used to be tbh
Im really busy so i forget alot but i always make sure to brush at least once or twice a week 😅
"Yeah, boys, I can't fix her"
I do have a fear of the dentist, so I floss my teeth like crazy.
Love you videos bud!
Hey Bentist can you drink tea after you brush your teeth (before going to bed)?
if you watch her entire story, she would brush her teeth multiple times a day but she was still having issues so her dad would brush them 4 times a day and she still had like 20 cavities and there was nothing they could do about it.
I'm pretty sure this is about genetics, my family has strong teeth and as a kid I didn't brush my teeth, my mom and dad often told me to brush them but I never got the habit of doing that, believe me or not but I'm 23 and my teeth are perfectly fine, no pain, all teeth still there, I never had to visit a dentist too, I also don't have problems with bad breath or stuff like that, also my teeth don't really look like someone that is not brushing and I find this fascinating that people that brush every day still have to visit dentists
Who else watches a video of his and instantly goes to brush their teeth?
Mine never got to that point thankfully, but I spent some years without brushing them and I can confirm that what he says is 100% true. Its a snowball effect. Plus you add the fact of how that interfere in your social life. You dont want to have a date or anything because of your mouth, you end up depressed etc etc.
I'm 21 and my teeth are rotted and falling apart but I caught it in time that I can eat and brush and it only hurts a mild amount, but tooth nerve pain is painful that's for sure
now that i often see this guy's youtube shorts, i dont even think he is a dentist anymore.
Take this to heart - I thankfully still have plenty of teeth left, but I have multiple crowns and will need some implants going forward. I hope to never end up with dentures, but I have already spent 10s of thousands of dollars on dental work, and it will only continue into the future. Brush and floss - floss after every meal if you can because the food that sticks between your teeth is a huge contributor. And that's to speak nothing of the pain rotting teeth cause - sometimes felt like getting stabbed in the tooth socket with a screwdriver. Horrible. Always brush and floss, it will save you time, money and pain in your future.
What did people do before tooth brushes and toothpaste??
I had a permanent filling that fell out a few months ago. It’s a pretty big space in my tooth at the back. I usually use floss pick to get food out when I’m done eating. But since it’s been so long I’m scared to go to the dentist. I don’t know if it’s beyond repair or not and I really don’t want to get it pulled since I already had to pull 2 teeth about 2-3 years ago. Also, I feel like the dentist I usually go to is scamming me and leaving out a lot of information. Is it possible that after maybe 4 months that I would still be able to keep the tooth and just get it refilled? Or is it almost guaranteed there may be some sort of complication?
Side note: I floss after most meals. I don’t always brush twice a day but I do brush at least once a day with an electric toothbrush and Sensodyne pronamel whitening toothpaste.
Get it seen ASAP. Don't dwaddle with this, I did for several months. You could probably still get it refilled if you don't mess around with it. I procrastinated for almost a year, but that was due to finances and lack of insurance. I was stuck with a root canal and a crown (vanity, I refuse to get a tooth pulled). It was still $1800 after insurance. I waited until I got insurance at work.
Aww, this just breaks my heart, clearly this woman was going through a lot mentally, to neglect the most important part of your hygiene, for years 😢🙏🏽
I must admit that since Covid it has been difficult to break habit of only brushing once a day.
Growing up, my uncle would always tell me, “be true to your teeth or they’ll be false to you.” He’s always had beautiful, white teeth.
I used to be really bad but now I'm at the point where if I forget to brush my teeth in the morning, by mid day I actually start to feel ill/nauseous. I have no idea why but I literally feel sick until I finally brush my teeth.
