Its funny how people say these are vintage haha With the extremely low latency and high hz these bad boys could have, its still nice people appreciate CRTs
Ideally you'd recycle a crt tv like this and make a new modern LED one out of the recycled materials since these crts are horribly inefficient in terms of power draw. So over the long run, you'd actually use less energy and create less fumes from recycling it into a new led tv compared to having one of these on.
Yeah no you dont really recycle these because well it has a deady high voltage flyback that can kill like 4 people but not just that it also has a vacuum tube inside that when it implodes it can make you deaf and it can seriously injure you and other people around with the flying pieces if glass
@@maatesht192 awwww I'm glad you saved it,it is really precious to people who appreciate it like us,I just want to play my playstation 2 and watch studio ghibli movies on it
I love crt 📺 over any modern technology 🖥️ No lag, stable 60fps, true blacks, image has depth, white is brilliant. Only tech similar, was plasma, but it was poor and expensive in comparison.
Poor & expensive ?. Same can goes to CRT TV too. Not all CRT are great in colour display & most CRT had problems on colour lost when plugged 8/16 bit console in long constant usages back then. Plasma TV maybe heavy but it was ahead of its time with most Plasma had one HDMI port with single/double AV & Component S-Video plus VGA ports.
There is actually a way to create an analog\digital hybrid TV. But before I tell you how, I just want to explain the difference between analog and digital TV. We all know that a digital screen is made up of individual pixels, right? but what differentiates this from an analog screen, and what I have heard from the channel Technology Connections, is that analog screen has no individual pixels, but consists of only one pixel, that is the whole screen. This means that the image gets an infinitely softer and more realistic image depth, because the environment we see is analog. As I said earlier, there is a way to get the same analogue quality on a digital TV. A milk-toned plastic filter is placed on the screen itself. This breaks the light from the pixels, in a way that softens the image! I have tested it myself. Feel free to try it yourself! Would be very cool if smartphones and other gadgets, were made with this technology! Thank you for reading this! :-) I like your video!
I have a old disney princess crt tv I used to watch old disney vcrs on when I was little. I'm planning on getting a converter to use roku with it hopefully it works 😭.
They aren’t heartless, and people throw them away all the time, that CRT TV in the video might weigh 100 pounds, And they have low video quality and low fps. And they use a lot of energy and produce a dangerous amount of electromagnetic radiation.
@@EnormeEkoHTry finding them through estate sales or trift stores with used devices or electronics. Most people either don't want them or have no clue on what it is. That's how I found a few of my CRTs. I'd recommend buying a CRT monitor with no wired cable just for the sake of storage (my preference). Playing CS2 on an IBM VGA screen with 640x480 (max) resolution is surreal.
I've done this before and sadly it looks like crap compared to using devices intended for crts, like things with vga output. (For me I use a raspberry pi and a custom board by recallbox that gives the raspberry pi a vga output for north America, and scart output for other countries)
My school has a lot of CRTs and when I was about to see my pre-K buddy in the pre k building, I saw a Sanyo CRT and asked my teacher if I could take it but I couldn’t, plus there are DOZENS around the schools in the classrooms, computer lab, auditorium/cafeteria, and etc but we haven’t used them in 2 years.
Doing this is actually fairly straight forward. First, you'll need to know what inputs your CRT has. The most commons are composite (The yellow, red and white wires), SCART (mostly in Europe) or VGA (That blue display connector on old computers). Then, get an adapter from HDMI or DP to that connector. Match the aspect ratio on your device to the CRT (usually 4:3, some TV's are 16:9 and very few PC CRT's are 16:10). For TV's (composite and SCART) you're mostly done. PC monitors (VGA) on the other hand have a bit more customization, as those usually support multiple resolutions and framerate. Finding your monitor's manual will help you find how much room you have to mess around. You'll need to find the vertical and horizontal refresh rates ranges your monitor support. The vertical rate is the supported framerates and horizontal rate gives you the maximum number of lines for a custom resolution. (You'll need to check with a CVT timings calculator to have an accurate estimation of H-sync for one specific resolution.)
I had a hard time using something like this. My mouse clicks just wouldn’t register a lot of the time. But I could definitely see it having potential for streaming certain videos. The overscan made using the computer incredibly difficult, unfortunately.
