Small SUV that you can pay cash for, ideally 2010 or newer.
Our Ford Escape had been great!
If not that, then find a cheap 4 door car. Cash is King!

    @TuroTales
    Hello James,
I thank you for sharing your TURO journey with us all. I have a few burning questions.
When buying a vehicle will only a clean title pass TURO’S guidelines, and is a reconstructed title looked at the same as salvaged one?
Should you leave 48 hours of lead time on the booking calendar for a vehicle behind its previous rental incase of rental extensions or canceled flights before the next rental?
Why don’t all the reviews show when looking a TURO owner’s profile that is connected to a vehicle?
I understand that both parties must give feedback for a review to show on either end, but at in the header of the page it will state a larger number of trips, but actually show much fewer reviews, sometimes 25% of the total reviews on that vehicle?
Why are there two different prices for a vehicle, one on the vehicle’s post and the other attached to the hosts profile when viewing all their vehicles?
Does Instant Booking keep your response time high or is it only based on one’s text response time?
How do you deal with a lost or locked Key/Farb to the vehicle by a renter?
How do you deal with lost & found? Shipping to renter that has left the area?
How do you deal with someone else driving the vehicle that is not the registered renter? Through TURO? Do you take pix of both licenses and upload them? How do you know the second party was verified on the TURO platform?
How do you show up in the TURO filters or search for multiple airports or states? Is it just key words driven in the description or do you expand your coverage circle to suit that goal?
Thank you for any insight. You have encouraged me to take a hard look at this opportunity in the Northeast, US.

      Hey Christopher!
Sounds like some great questions for an upcoming video!
      1. Clean Titles Only!!!
      2. It's a technique, however, we do not employ that technique. A bird in the hand...
      3. I'm not sure. They should all be visible. Sometimes, only the reviews for a particular vehicle are listed, but if you're on the page of a Turo Hosts Profile, they should all be visible.
      4. Both renter and host do not need to rate each other for that rating to show. Some won't rate, but it'll still show up as a trip. There also seems to be discrepancies between the number of bookings realized and those scheduled. (We have completed something like 289 trips, but we have accepted 342. Some canceled and some are scheduled for the future. )
      5. The prices are indicative of a the typical week long rental that Turo's search defaults to. Most Hosts have weekly and monthly rates. There also seems to be an algorithm that will take the lowest price for a period and display that. For example, we have different prices based on different days of the week. Tuesdays are often up to $15 less than a Friday for example. This may impact the algorithm, but really you'd have to talk to Turo's nerds about that.
      6. Instant book seems to help, but it's based off of the response time. So get SS so that you can respond within a minute 24 hours a day.
      7. Take a picture of the key. If it's lost, Turo will charge them and pay you for a new one. It's very simple process, although annoying.
      8. If they lose it, we notify them. We then determine how to ship it, but it is based on them. Rarely do we ship items, but we have in the past. Usually the renter doesn't seem to mind. The exception is a phone that we found.
      9. All drivers have to be vetted through Turo. It's easy to add a driver in the app. We only are required to retain a copy the registered drivers license.
      10. You can list additional airports with different costs to deliver to each. Additional cities can be added, but that is a pain. Key words don't play a part.
      Recommendation:
List a car today and keep it on snooze. You'll learn a lot in the process and then you can just activate it when it is time.

Great idea. We liked the deals that we found, but we've searched for Toyota Yaris in the past

If you decide to add any vehicles, try to avoid buying any Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat products. These vehicles are maintenance nightmares and they should not be used in a rental car business...

I would add to do your due diligence on any vehicle. There are often lemons in any car company. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
