I modified my entire air breather system a few years back. My fuel mileage and response of my 350 tbi was a night and day difference. No more air restrictions for my 1994 g20 van!
Well I'm fixin to go on my fifth cross country solo trip in late Sept. Planning on replacing the distributor cap and rotor. When I remove the doghouse I'll either take pics or may even do my debut vid on my van including the air cleaner mods. I've owned this g20 8 years now and keep it in top running shape! Proud of the 139,000 on her :)
Had to look this up because mine is evidently rusted shut or something. The whole assembly came off the carb. Thanks for this just needed a sanity check for it.
F.Y.I. there is a heat duct that runs through the doghouse. i saw the vent in your video. my guess is someone didn't replace it before you got it. hot air blows out the bottom of the doghouse . it is designed to do that. look inside you doghouse(on the drivers side) for one end of it and then look up under the dash for the other end of the duct. there is a short rigid hose ( about 8 inches long) to connect the two ends. nice to have heat coming out near your feet.
I have a 93 G20 Gladiator conversion. Unfortunately I have to pull the passenger seat to get the doghouse to clear. Looks like someone was not kind to the plastic bits on your van's center dash panel area.
That's weird. Does it have after market seats? I have owned 4 Chevy g20s and never had that issue. I know pulling out the seat can be a nightmare. Hope you got it done.

@@RoadTripUSA How about a 85 Chevy Fleetwood tioga? Gonna sell it hopefully and need to get some starter fluid in the carburetor and was flummoxed by wondering how anyone could get to the air filter. You're a life saver... I bought this gem about 8 years ago thinking i was gonna go places.. Got started on cat rescuing and alternative medical therapies so can't just leave the kiddos to run loose for long periods.. too bad.. but the alt med [hyperbaric o2 and naturopathy] is so amazing of an improvement and the kiddos are such great educational patients lol and [all 25 at the moment] are thriving... Thanks again for a great -- so clear and welcoming -- video... ttyl
Sorry for the late reply. Chevrolet recommends 40,000 but it really depends how often you're driving and where you're driving, example, if you often drive on unpaved or dusty roads, you would need to change more often. Hmmmm, my 1995 is just a tad different! Doghouse is one piece, and air cleaner housing is single screw post and wing nut. Problem is......single screw is so tall out of throttle body I can't remove the filter without removing the screw!!

I think the IAC valve will be underneath the air filter? Not sure of any videos though. Good luck!

I believe they don't come with a cabin filter. I know our 1994 G20 doesn't have one.

Chevy 350 or the 454.
Every 5000 miles in our 350 I will change both the oil filter and oil. Also I only ever use conventional oil not synthetic.
