I like to seat those bearings before install of the cotter key. Spin the assembly, tighten the castle nut "snug", (you will feel it seat) then back off the nut till you can insert the key. Do this a few times for assurance.
Nice helpful video. I just bought a '95 G20 after having an '89 for several years and everything up front is aging. It stops pretty well , but not great so I am getting familiar with the ABS setup so I can plan to do the rotors, bearings and pads soon as well as rebuild the rear drums and replace the rear wheel bearings so I know all of that is fresh.
A 3/8 works better than a 9 mm to take out the guide pins. I did mine twice because I think I overpacked it and the seal wasn't set, and they were getting hot. I think I overpacked it the second time because now grease comes off the center.- probably squeezed out the back seal and is running along the center shaft.
You kept saying, “front bearing” and “rear bearing” which was confusing. Wouldn’t the terms ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ be more appropriate?

These vans are so cool. I love them!😍
Thanks! Replacing the entire rotor in order to not have to deal with the inside bearings makes this job very easy. I may do the same. 👍

Oops
Did you ever diagnose your abs light?
I didn’t but will soon. I started to use it as my daily and just haven’t had time to look into it.
