I love the simplicity & sleekness of nightwing’s & batgirl’s costumes, & I love the toned-down red & black costume for robin. Well naturally I go with BTAS Batman. He was the version that first made me a fan of Bats in general. Besides that, I prefer him as the more compassionate, optimistic hero he was then. Plus, Kevin Conroy did a much better job distinguishing his voice between Bruce Wayne and Batman in the first series. Also, I prefer his more colorful Batsuit with the classic chest emblem than his later costumes. I like that the JL Batsuit at least restored the blue highlights. In terms of art style, the original look for The Animated Series will always reign supreme. He looks fine enough in the various Justice League shows, but unfortunately the transition from Cel animation got rid of a lot of the visual grit that added to the style. It's a shame they didn't try to add it back, like what the Simpsons did when it went digital. His New Adventures redesign, along with many of the pre-existing characters in the continuity, is not to my taste though. He looks less dynamic and interesting, but compared to what they did to the Joker, he got off easy. I liked Batgirl's redesign though, and Tim Drake's Robin, while not a redesign, looks great.
I didn't like Batman in the New adventures series too much cause he wasn't as balanced anymore as he used to be, just being so completely closed off and unlikable in persona.
@@gibbs615 there's actually a theory that Batman started get more jaded after dealing with Gotham for so many years, remember before Batman TAS he was just fighting the mob and The Joker but when the series starts he is put through alot after having to deal with new threats.

The Justice League design is the perfect combination of the original Animated series look and The new adventures one. It’s my favorite design in the Dini/Timm verse

My favorite is and always will be Batman The Animated Series. So many childhood memories of watching those episodes after school in the 90s. Now as an adult I appreciate the writing and stories even more. Thank you Kevin Conroy 😢 RIP.
Yeah, that just makes it even more sad when you watch the scene again, to know that after that trauma he separated himself from everyone, even his closest friends. Batman is always dark and serious but during the whole series and JLA series you could actually see him in a pretty good mood from time to time.
When I was a kid and Batman beyond came out I was a 90s animated elitist. So I scoffed and said “this isn’t the real Batman” now as an adult I’ve revisited the Batman Beyond stuff with my sons. Absolutely great timeline and story.
Oh, I love the episodes when Batman teams up with and cross paths with Static in Static Shock. It's even cooler when Static cross paths with older Bruce Wayne and Terry Miginis-Batman in the future of Batman Beyond and works with them both
When i think of batman i always think of the dcau plus kevin conroy nails any version of batman he voices. I grew up with the 89 batman movie and seen the christoper nolan movied but this batman is always my favourite
Every new incarnation of Batman in the animated series/movies were spot on. The return of the Joker was the best. It had everything. Retired Bruce Wayne with Terry McGinnis finding who Bruce Wayne was and taking on the Bat suit as the new Batman. Mark Hamill's Joker is still the best voice over.
The BTAS Batman is good to be sure, but my favorite version of Batman is probably the Batman Beyond duo. Terry was like Spiderman in a Batman story and that really made me gravitate towards the character alot more than BTAS Batman whom I found rather intimidating as a kid. Old Bruce was perfect as Terry's mentor and seeing a character that I thought was intimidating having heart attacks made me like him way more than his usual unflappable self. I say duo because I probably wouldn't like them as much if they were on their own
I find it strange Batman is a caring, sort of quippy guy in BTAS yet in TNBA/BTAS season 4 he's just some cold, heartless jerk. While he regains some compassion in JL JLU and Batman Beyond, he's still a huge jerk in them
It's just that at DCAU he also went through very bad things. One explanation for him becoming cold and distant in later seasons of BTAS is that 1) He fought with Dick and they took a long time to get along; 2) At some point, there was a Jason Todd. Afterwards, when Batman joins the Justice League, things return to normal. He reverts to being an asshole, cold and bitter when Joker kidnaps and tortures Tim Drake and stays that way until he meets Terry McGinnis.
I think its because this batman went through a lot more than other versions, plus there are more tragedies that he goes through that are revealed in the comics and not in the show. Here are a few that are only revealed in the comics: After batman lost a person named silver, someone bruce wayne has been known to date, (either they died or left him) he went completely solo for years and when joker kidnapped Alfred, nightwing joined batman in saving him, but batman, having been solo for to long, body blocked nightwing's vision and got him shot by the joker's machine gun. Batman was so guilt ridden he never even spoke to him after that. 2. Him and Barbara had a relationship (which is hinted in the show) but we find out he got her pregnant, while saving someone from a mugging, she got hit in the stomach and lost the child and to add to that, Barbara stopped talking to him all together after that and so did dick (until the Alfred case) This also happened right after rescuing and during Tim's recovery from getting kidnapped. Last massive one ill mention is we learn that there was more to the justice lord incident, its in batman beyond 2.0, but the short version is that bruce did have feelings for diana but since he never acted upon them, she left to the justice lords dimension to help, date, and later marry, justice lord batman which left him heart broken. So i would say he has a reason for being more bitter than other versions lmao.
