I did my rip out yesterday and just to let others know, during my endeavor, I experimented as I went. I disconnected the AC box (I had labeled them) and was able to even start my car, but it wouldn't shut down when I pressed the button (2009 G37 coupe Journey). I was testing per cable to see if my car would start since part of the reason I'm replacing my radio is also trying to chase down an electric issue. In order to get my car to shut down I had to connect the AC box with the car running. I'm not proud of this, but wanted to let others that are as daring (or crazy). It worked fine, and like a computer's IEEE cable, they're not likely to fry a computer's motherboard by hot connecting, though it's not something you'd usually risk either, thus one of the reasons S.A.T.A was favored. Anywho, great video. Just got my kit from Amazon and the directions are a nightmare. Only seeing this video now and hoping it can clarify some of my questions, though I have the AOONAV (currently the only available one on Amazon for the G37) and my cables and connections on my unit will most likely be different. You already clarified a few things in referencing what each cable actually did, like clock power and others. Thank you my good sir!
Hey bro do u have any social media or number I can reach out to you for one question everything in the video lines up but one thing that cable u pulled from the stock unit for the passenger airbag you’rs looked like mine up until where u say “go ahead and take that screw out” I took that screw out any my lil white connector piece is attached to a long green motherboard looking type of thingy where as your video cuts to just the white connector piece already taken out I have been trying all day to figure it out 😭 I will literally even pay you for your time bro I just wanna talk on the phone or send pics so u can see
In all honesty, If they havent upgraded this device since I bought it, then dont buy it. These radio have come such a far way now, meaning other vendors are now doing some great stuff with theirs like nifty city, (im not sponsored or anything by them) Just want to be straight up honest if you are going to spending hard earned cash on these devices.
I ended up adding a amp rca to the radio to turn up the volume of the radio is sounds louder than how I did when the screen was installed but other than the that the radio is great can’t complain
Hello, this video helped me install my Phoenix radio, thank you! I have one question for you. Did those black noise filters that you put on the wires work for you? I’m experiencing high pitch noise from speakers when I press the gas. I heard adding the filter should help, but can you confirm?
Happy to help! Okay so the filters helping was minor in my case. I am able to drown out my pitch with increasing the volume. Now, the issue you are having sounds like alternator whine if you are pressing the gas. You should look into possibly checking the grounds on the alternator. I had done a DIY grounding on my engine bay prior to doing this install but I never touched the alternator. So all in all i think the alternator is where the whine is coming from. Here is a group I got my knowledge from for doing this video: facebook.com/groups/2080122282231211
This is by far been the most helpful install video for these screens. I was able to get my camera working with the re-pin, appreciate that info. However, I am still having the following two issues and wondering if you ran into the same things: Car info: 2010 G37 Sedan with Bose and No navigation (similar to yours I believe), Radio info: Rhino PX6 13.6" Android 9 screen (looks to match yours exactly) All functions work (BOSE sound, backup camera, carplay/ZLink, wired carplay connection, hazard lights, passenger airbag light) except I'm having the following issues. 1. My AC controls don't work however the auto-blower turns on when I start the car. I just have no control over them. I'm using the same plug that you recommended for yours and the A/C controls show lit up like they are working but neither the buttons or on-screen controls work. I believe I tried the other plug from the main harness and got no A/C blowing upon start up so I don't believe it's that one. I can almost live with this since the auto-blower does a good job of matching the temp inside the car but would be nice to have. I already did a lot of troubleshooting with the "Install set" and making sure it is set to QX70 (matches my CANBUS), Protocal Tangdu and G37 car type. I have tried a few of the other options but they haven't worked either. 2. If my car sits for longer than a few hours after driving, I have to jump it to start it, like the screen is leeching battery. I have gotten an alternator test, changed out batteries, and replugged the harness in but no luck - always seems to drain it down. The screen appears to shut off completely when the car is turned off and I did not have this issue when I swapped back to OEM radio for a few days. Any suggestions? I had a Px3 for a few years and wired in a step-down to get the factory camera working on that harness so I have a general idea of what I'm doing but have not had any luck with this PX6 and fixing these last 2 issues. If you didn't run into them, perhaps it's my harness but Rhino has not been very helpful and only send screenshots I've already seen from their troubleshooting guides. I wanted to check with you before I tried splicing into any wires or requesting a new harness from them. Thanks again for your walkthrough, as I mentioned before this has been the most concise and accurate guide to getting the PX6 radio (at least the on I have) installed correctly.
I’d be surprised if you reply to this lol but I followed every step in the video. The only issue I’m having is that the audio isn’t working for mine. That black decoder box I can’t seem to find any plugs that fit into it

No static for me. If you play with the dsp you can get it to sound pretty good. Better than stock? It's been so long and after customizing to my liking it sounds great to me. Now for fm radio it doesn't sound better than stock. But, bluetooth, video, Spotify etc. Shit is awesome
