What you should learn from that is that the guy that made it is full of it. Those guards are not like actors at Disney but full active soldiers. Sometimes, other regiments other than the Household Guards take the Household responsibilities. I have served with guys who did that in the 70s, and I was in the Royal Artillery. The Gurkhas, the Royal Navy and the RAF also take these duties. I'm sure that if a guard needs a break he can get one, it is no longer the Victorian age. A soldier will always clean his boots before reporting for his next duty stint, which we call a stag.
