Your videos are great on the GTR4 I wish I had found them before spending a day trying to learn on my own. If you could add some instructions on how to download maps for the navigation in outdoor workouts that would be helpful. I did figure out how to download GPX tracks from a phone app to a folder on the phone, then open it with the ZEPP app to make it accessible. But downloading maps and then zooming in or out to see my position on the map is not intuitive.
If I remember right the GTR 4 got maps and gpx file support with software updates after I made my video. But I will try to include how to add gpx files in next Amazfit video. Thanks for watching!
I have the GTS 4, it's the more square screen, there is a vendor that makes a PERFECT FITTING screen protector, I am sure there is one for the round one as well. Also, the sleep mode screen is automatic. I see it when I wake, even thought I never set it. I have found this watch to track my sleep within 10 minutes. It's super accurate. I used the sleep tracking for 6 months, so I could show my Doctor I was only sleeping for 4 hours a night, it was helpful I had the APP to PROVE it to her. She gave me some great medicine, so now I sleep. I have had this watch for over a year, it works very well. The App gets upgrade regular adding different functions. Also, I have NEVER paid for the EXTRAS, I don't want or need them, if you're not a crazy health nut, you won't need them anyway.
Great video! 👏I've got a question about the swimming workout feature: does it include an open-water mode or only have the pool one? Some smartwatches can show imprecise results while tracking distances at the sea...
For swimming, it has a pool and open water option. The pool option will ask you the lap length to help measure. The open water will use GPS. I have not tested it but GPS should be accurate.
Not that much difference. There are 3 cheetahs, round, square and pro. I think the main differences are that the round gets better GPS and ability to download maps but loses the speaker. The pro keeps the speaker and the screen is upgraded to gorilla glass. The displays are different sizes. Most of the software upgrades in the cheetah line were also given to the GTR 4 with updates. Check the specs to make sure you get what you want but I think the GTR 4 is best value.
One issue could be that Alexa is not available in all countries. If it is available in yours, then when you first try to access Alexa on the watch it should direct you to the phone Zepp app. From here it will make you sign into your Amazon account and then you have to grant access to Alexa. If you are not directed there, then go to the Zepp app, in the profile portion find "3rd party accounts". Click on Alexa in there and sign in to Amazon and grant your permissions. Last issue I can think of, and this happened to me. My phone put the Alexa app to sleep and took away the permissions because I did not use it in awhile. If this happened, again grant permissions again and put the app into "never sleeping" apps- if you like to use it. I hope that helps.
you might have already tried this but for the initial set up, In the Zepp app go to the apps and click on amazon alexa. then you will be directed to sign into amazon. If I remember right, I also had to allow access through 3rd party account linking in the more settings of the Zepp app. Last issue I had was that you have to allow Alexa all the usual permissions and keep it from sleeping or its use being optimized by your phone. Hopefully, something there works.
I could be wrong but I believe amazfit is positioning the balance as the successor to the GTR 4. I think the balance is taking the place of the GTR 5. I hope to be testing this soon. Stay tuned!

However, just to make sure you have all the info, Amazfit did JUST come out with what appears to be the GTR 4 update, its called the Balance, great features and still a reasonable price. Amazfit also released the Cheetah line recently. Ill have a few videos on the Cheetah and probably the Balance real soon. Enjoy your new watch!
@@techgadgets100 I was considering getting Cheetah Pro because of it's gorilla glass, but it's more expensive and a bit larger. Not sure it would fit me well because of my small wrist. I'm also not in love with its yellowish crown, so... Balance looks nice, but there's not much difference between GTR, except it's a bit bigger.

Well that is at a different price point. Amazfit does have the GTS 4 and the Cheetah square. They also JUST came out with Amazfit Active. Similar square screens. I think your right to wait for black friday, especially since its around the corner. Let me know, if you pick one.
@@techgadgets100 a silly question! But if the screen is off (I mean no AOD) and I got a notification, will the screen light up to show me a preview or a banner? Or should I swipe up to go the Notification Center my own ?
On some watches, you can adjust it, but typically when you get a notification it will show on watch screen. If you miss it, then you have to swipe into notifications.

When will the gtr5 be released? This has been on sale for about a year now

Good question! Usually just wash them a little with hand soap when washing hands. Then take watch off to dry. As far as I know, it doesn't stink yet 🙏
