Thank you for watching and a huge thanks to Dan Ames for trusting me with his watch - it was an honor to restore this piece. Let me know what you think about the restoration in the comments! And as always, a like and a subscription help the channel a lot. See you in the next one! 😊🔧
@@authordanames9043 Many thanks to you, for the information from someone who should know!! Thank you for the very personal answer and many greetings from Paderborn/Germany from an equally enthusiastic Spezimatic owner!!
I wish that you had serviced the movement. Whenever there is broken glass I think the best practice is to service the movement. That way you don't need to worry about glass dust grinding down the watch.
NO HACE FALTA DECIR QUE ERES MUY BUENO !! ME HA SORPRENDIDO LOS SUBTÍTULOS , ESTO HACE TENER UNA MAYOR CERCANÍA A TU TRABAJO . ME HA ENCANTADO LA PALABRA UTILIZADA SOBRE LA CORONA ( ESTÁ LISTA ) YO LA UTILIZO MUCHO 😂😂.
WOW...well, if anyone can do it, you certainly can. And to have a ton of spare parts for just such an occasion. Truely fantastic work and workmanship. Always love your vids.. and Im sure Dan Ames is 'over the moon' with your work and results. LOVE that strap too. Awesome. Kudos to you..!!
I’ve seen your work since some years ago and I really love the way you treat and rescue, in a funny way, those watches, thanks to you now I poses a beautiful Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000, thank you very much for everithing!
I suffer from high blood pressure, watching your videos with my blood pressure monitor attached to my arm, shows, that what you do lowers my blood pressure to acceptable levels. Thanks for that.
My nickname in high school a hundred years ago, give or take, was "Trainmaster." So, it's a tad disconcerting to know someone is looking for me. Very nice job, BTW.
I wonder how much that kind of restoration could cost, because I have a very sad looking Breitling inherited from my dad, that I'd like to hear the tic tac again.
Made in GDR. Diese Schachtel habe ich heute noch...
Do you have a real fireplace?! ) It's a beautiful watch, I like this dial in combination with Basel and the day/date! Good job, but I was missing full polishing and full immersion anodizing.😊
Nice! But decision about servicing has to be made based on inspection and oil condition, not only timegrapher readings. There might be the case, when today it runs well, but tomorrow will not…
Made in GDR (German Democratic Republic) or East Germany before the"Iron Curtain" came down. Probably a collector's piece just for that fact. Great job, RDR.
You certainly did a fine job! I was worried about the dial feet breaking but I know You could have repaired them if they did. I've never heard of this brand before. How old is this watch? I'm sure He's very happy with it.
@RDR, thank you for another enjoyable video. Are you able to advise on how I too might get a tackle box full of plastic parts useful for this movement? That red cover plate and blue date wheel are things I could sure use for my own 11-27 movement.
Also ca 45 Jahre alt. LG
I love your work. Way beyond what I am capable of, however you made some decisions that ?I ma curious about. You made no effort to restore the face (apart from the feet) or rhea front side of the hands. Was that a decision by the owner? Awesome work

It wouldn't be a horrible idea to get someone to CAD those plastic pieces, so that they could be recreated on a resin printer.
Thank you, Kai, for your brilliant work! Bravo!
Wow, respect!! Your customer must be very happy!

I was thinking the same thing! Like clean the moving parts and service it !!!
I agree with you and, I would also not have changed the color of the arms. Other than that, I really love this channel.
The watch was running fine per the timegrapher, didn't need it.
Sublime !!! BRAVO.
Parfait 😊
That case replating was superb. Great video
Thank you 😊
You are an absolute craftsman. The restored watch with that strap was * chief's kiss.

Amazing transformation and all the more remarkable by being accomplished without the use of the flux capacitor. Exceedingly well done. 👏👏👏👏👏
Toujours aussi étonnant et agréable à regarder.

Beautiful watch. 😍

I usually choose Nato because of Velcro's "infinite adjustability," but that is definitely a stunning strap.

No, it is called "antifascist protectiv wall".

7:53 But the green lume for the hands is historically correct.
Love the parts storage box at 4:00 do you have a link to where you got it? Apologies if I overlooked it in the list above.
I think it was a box for fishing hooks
I'm jealous of a nice watch.

BEST watch restoration channel hands down mate! Love it.
Great work as always 💯
I concur!
You pointed out that a tooth was broken on the date ring. Did you do anything to repair that, or does it work as it is?
The disc was replaced, it is stated in the video
Is that the same Ariel Adams who appears on aBlogtoWatch?
Yes.
Hmm... looks like the whole video is a bit underexposed than usual. Is it intentional? Otherwise still an entertaining video as usual.
How fast it is in the video and how long in reality ... wonderful work, definitely like!👍
😮 no Elma bathing this time!!!
wow, super
Wonderful! It is so satisfying to watch something come back to life. You did a great job on the watch.
I’ve never seen so much plastic in a mechanical watch
Absolutely gorgeous! You are a true master of your craft.
if they made those plastic pieces out of bakelite... I actually have no idea if that would be any good, but formaldehyde resin seems to last forever.

Repainting the dial always looks horrible. I'm not doing this, never. The hands were fine, no need to work on them in my opinion 😉
