My father had a watch exactly like this one. It passed to me when he died. Unfortunately, not long after, someone broke into my house and stole it (and other items). But it really broke my heart to lose his watch. Miss you, pop.
Although frustrating for the owner, I'm glad that the other shops refused to work on it, so that we all had the chance to see you work your magic on it! You did great honor to his father -- well done, and thank you!
I have a similar watch, an Elgin, that other watchmakers have refused to work on. It's a shame that something could survive this long, yet be considered "useless".
Speedy I'm sure you noticed the equipment involved! IF the shops you went to had that equipment, they would have to charge You quite a bit! They simply don't Care to or can't go to the Expense!
My uncle gave me the exact same watch back in the late sixties. I still have it. Had it cleaned up in the late eighties. Still runs. I will keep it forever.
In a world where mediocrity and incompetence are everywhere, these videos, with their exactness and professionalism, are like a fascinating ray of light. Kudos!
@@RedDeadRestoration Hello, there is an old Bulova pocket watch that looks golden, and I want to check if it is original or not. It looks like a wonderful masterpiece. How do I contact you to send you pictures?
Just wonderful. Thank you for your precision and care for something that is timeless and has so much sentiment attached to it. In a world where we throw away so much, it is heartening to see you restore so many things to their former beauty.
First time seeing an original Bulova USA movement. My first Bulova is the 98A255 field watch, Miyota movement. Now u made me believe that indeed Bulova is one of the best watch maker from USA. Thank u👍
I feel like the little bit of patina left on the dial just completes the whole look. It's like seeing just a little bit of this watch's history on display, and I think there's something beautiful about that.
I believe that he actually replaced the dial with another one, without the crack. It’s the only point of critique I have on this otherwise amazingly produced video. I’d rather see the old dial in.
That soothes my mind. Brings me away from the mayhem these days. Appreciate the good. And on top of all, this is my absolutely favored design for wrist watches. Square, real numbers (Ziffern). No Schnickschnack. Classic. Thank you for preserving this precious.
Just beautiful That watch was a corroded mess. The case restoration was excellent but getting the movement to that level of accuracy with no beat error is nothing short of magical. Fantastic work!
Per tutti quelli che amano gli orologi i tuoi video sono una vera meraviglia, splendide visioni di grande professionalità e passione! Complimenti dalla Svizzera!
Very good restoration of USA 🇺🇸 Bulova . This watch was famous at that time, as one other company “Cyma”” produced similar watch design & still it is with me & working accurately.
Just a follow-up on my previous review..in that this is a fabulous job on restoring this 1940' Bulova... Im sure he, the family are so pleased with the outcome. Great work, cleaning all the parts and making it run once again as it should.
I don’t know much about watches but I would say that that was one well made time piece in it’s time. I like it’s simplicity in design and quality. ❤️🇬🇧 well restored!
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy watching your restorations, it must be so satisfying to take something that is in such ill repair and bring it back to an as new condition, superb craftmanship !!!
excellent video!!! great work!! its exact date is 1953 you can tell by the L3 on the back the L stands for the 50'S and the 3 stands for 53. m=60's n=70s and pre 1950' just has serial numbers.
È spettacolare guardare i tuoi video ! È affasciante anche per chi non ne capisce ! Sei davvero un fenomeno ! Noi appassionati amiamo guardare questi restauri impeccabili ! Davvero complimenti e speriamo tu possa pubblicare video più spesso ancora ! Ciao dall’Italia 🇮🇹 avanti tutta !
It may be a biased opinion but I dare say one of the best restorations so far!

I was able to restore my father's watch myself, but I miss him too much!

Chef kiss on that patina, right? I was stationed at Ft. Campbell so Clarksville is home. Amazing resto and watch.

Beautiful! Putting the watch on a cheese grater was very imaginative and what an amazing effect!
😂
I like that you/customer kept the dial display intact. Nice patina
And if you think this was hard imagine what skills needed to build it in the 1st place. Simply amazing. I am a PE and I am amazed.
I love how you use the old faces vs. getting new ones. Awesome little detail!
Love the fact that there's just enough patina and history left in the watch to show its age.
A beautiful timepiece restored, a family regains an heirloom. Thank you
