- This is the story of Peru's slums and the people who live there.
Peru's capital Lima has expanded rapidly. In the 1950s, the city had around 1 million residents. Today, nearly 10 million people call the city home.
The city has continued to grow outwards through the expansion of slum settlements. While those located in flatter areas have seen real improvements in their living conditions, slums in steeper areas are still lacking basic services.
This film tells the story of the people who have settled in the city's slums and the progress they have made in improving their lives, up on the steep, dusty outskirts of Lima.

@@KODAK666-g3e los peruanos deben luchar contra el centralismo de su gobierno porque ese es el principal problema, en todo peru lima es la zona mas desarrollada o "rica", eso hace que la gente de las provincias emigren para alla. si lucharan por convertirse en una federacion todas las provincias tendrian cierta libertad para gobernarse solas y desarrollar su provincia. sin que lima intervenga mas de los necesario.
@@narciso10721 Moquegua, Tacna, Ica y Arequipa poseen indices de desarrollo igual o más altos que Lima.
Todo esta en promover la educación, en dar facilidades para la inversión. Además de invertir en Infraestructura.
La verdad que yo creo que este desorden es porque no hay organizacion. En vez de construir casas en los serros que es peligroso porque en un sismo se puede caer y causar desgracias. Deberiamos construir edificios de 10 pisos para que la gente viva en departamentos.
Aqui el error ha sido de los políticos principalmente, por no dar areas para las nuevas poblaciones. Y por no dar facilidades a las empresas para que construyan edificios.

Lo mismo pasa en Mexico las zonas como Iztapalapa ,Neza,Ecatepec etc ..fueron fundadas por provincianos gente de otras partes del Pais
La Cdmx y el EDO DE MEX estan
Infestados de gente de Provincia solo lleven pobreza y es gente sin estudios solo van hacer chambas de albañileria etc... ✌

why the hell people leaves their wonderful original cities? why would you leave somewhere with water and the possibility of growth to go to the desert? just to say: I live in the capital?
Opportunity to earn a better livelihood. There's more work in the capital, better healthcare, education and so on.

@@jo7cl on the contrary, it may not be such a bad thing. Yes they are slums, but they still house people when the government could not or would not. A lot of older neighbourhoods of Lima began as slums and the inhabitants improved them by developing their homes (which atteacts more people, which justifies the installation of infrastructure). Sometimes people call it "self-house" housing, the people have a huge amount of drive and agency and will to develop their neighborhoods.
Yet the rich of Lima look on from their gated communities and behave like the barriadas are just full of those too lazy to make their life better 🙄
Why? Well... Outside of Lima, there are not enough schools, Hospitals and work. In Lima at least you have the chance to choose to go to any public school or public hospital. They are way better in Lima than outside Lima. These people trying to look for a gig of success. It is really hard but not impossible. They are working really hard and even risking their own life’s just to give their kids a better future and opportunities.
Jonathan Calva you used the word ignorance. You calling these people ignorance ??? Why ? I call this people immigrants with big dreams and goals!!! I really respect them for their brave. They came to Lima without knowing nobody and they are trying to survive. You should at least respect them. These people know that it’s going to be hard to get out of their poverty but they might be the first generation of their future family. I’m sure the future generation will be successful people. I believed in them.

Yo vivia en Lima, luego me mude a New York, ahora vivo en el campo de Pennsylvania, no entiendo la obsesion de vivir en una ciudad, el campo es mucho mejor, mas seguro, mas barato y usualmente mas limpio.

Peru people & Nepali people look similar
Native Americans are originally from Asia. When there was land between Siberia and Alaska they crossed it to come to America. The DNA of Asians and Native Americans is nearly identical.
Native Paraguay people and Philippinos are also the same people. Its because before the Great Flood of Noah the landmass were connected. And the Plants and Rocks at the edges of South-America and Asia are also the same. And the Rocks+Plants didnt migrated ... thus proving that there was no migration of people, but proving that the Landmasses were connected long time ago.
Btw the Plants+Rocks at the edges of Africa/South-America are also the same.
Native Peruvians (Amerindians) yes.

El problema no es el gobierno. El problema viene de raíz. La raíz es el pueblo. El pueblo debe tener conocimiento para enfrentar y elegir a los candidatos para el gobierno. Un pueblo con education va saber escoger bien a su representante.
La educación no va a solucionar nada si el pueblo no pone de su parte para transformar su realidad para mejor.

no todo lima s asi , esa es la clase mas pobreza extrema ,, yo soy clase baja pero no tan baja que digamos pero aun asi vivo bien y mi vida feliz
Public Universities are free. No tuition. But every six months (a term) students should pay the equivalent to 50 dollars. Which it can be accumulate working on summer break. Villareal an san marcos, public universities provides free lunch for poorest students. San marcos also prodives housing free. To overcome poverty and get well educated is optional. Opportunnies are available, but many people dislike to study. Constantly i heard "studies are not not for me"

Lima is a desert.
No, there was never mining there, that’s how the ecosystem is in Lima, rocky and desert-like. If you go to other deserts in Peru, they pretty much look like what you would think a desert looks like, all sand and dunes.
Lima desert it's pretty unique, it's the most humid desert on the world, making it the worst space to live
Old generation is good but modern generation is worse imagin you live in the villages that's all humans like brother sisters no computers no lop top we talks personally and playing togethers
A house in Peru anywhere in Lima costs as much as a house in the U.S. A house in a more developed slum is about two hundred thousand dollars, it's absurd they want such prices to live in such a shitty country where there's no jobs, everything is dirty and there's no clean water. The only good thing there is the food.

No taxes on anything hardly anything look it up they basically tried to raise the income tax in the 80s and no one could afford it so they just all became self employed. But this is why there so many problems not enough government money to fix them
