Really nice video on showing how these guys aren’t gonna do anything bad to you and there’s no real reason to be afraid of them or harm them! Awesome work as always Andrew!
This was easily the best video I’ve seen about the periodical cicadas, you have totally flipped the narrative that was perpetuated about them on its head, and brilliantly at that! I am gutted that they didn’t end up emerging in my area, I’m afraid I may have missed them this time. Hopefully during the next emergence I’ll be able to catch up with them in person, but the best I can hope for is just to spot some adults before they all disappear this season. For the meantime, I’ll live vicariously through you, you really did the majesty of this species justice and your emotional connection was really inspiring to see. Great work Andrew! - Harrison and Evan
I was in IL for the last emergence and am now in GA just south of where they are and I’m really hoping I get to get up north sometime soon to see them. Do you know how long they will be out and about this year?
In southern Indiana the number of new nymphs emerging has slowed quite a bit, but adult calling and activity is very high. I suspect things will start quieting down over the next month or so.
This really does make you appreciate all living things ❤❤❤❤

I’m glad that message came through well! It was fun to connect this one to a more personal story for me.
I love them even as a little girl I thought they were so cool.

Thanks guys, so glad you found the video so effective and moving! You still have a week or two to travel a bit and find some!

Should be out for another couple of weeks in many places! Probably all gone by the end of June.
