I agree. The tuba stole the show… but in a terrible way. It did not sound as a tuba should, coming from a musician. Completely took away from the experience. He should have known better. The other instruments were ok.
Always impressed and awed by your true-to-original arrangements, and the performing authority and nuances you bring to realizing them stylistically, musically, (and humorously!) in your videos, Seb!
How do you get a flugelhorn to sound like a tuba? Overall the composition and performance were great. It reminded me of my college days playing brass quintets.
First time coming across one of your videos, but did you put each instrument balanced from L to R based off where they are on screen? I’m hearing some great Stereo bounces.
A couple of years ago he posted a video on how he does all the production of these videos; gear, software, techniques, etc. I’m sure you can find it in his playlist.
In a brass quintet, it's a French horn. But here it looks like from left to right he has a trumpet, flugelhorn, flugelhorn down two octaves, slide trumpet down an octave, and another flugelhorn.
I love your arrangements man, but have you considered getting a different trombone instead of that little guy you're using? you clearly know your way around the instrument, and I feel like you'd open up some sonic potential with a trombone whose range wasn't so limited!
what is the point of showing the instruments if they are not even correct? Did you want to show them, but they were too big to fit on the screen, so you used smaller instruments?
The tuba part absolutely stole the show. Makes me want to play tuba again.
Ha! Tuba part played on flugelhorn should get anyone!!
@@MrStareze I was wondering if it was off screen or something
It's not a very good tuba sound though, is it? Dull and stuffy. Otherwise I quite enjoyed this.

you can tell when tuba players are commenting 🤣
Please do more Silk Sonic! This rules!
helps when the original is a killer tune ;)
I was thinking to myself "I wish he'd arrange some Silk Sonic" and HERE IT IS like a gift from the Gods
Really makes me want to get a good quintet together. Love your writing.
thank you mate, means a lot
same bro
Me too. I haven't been in a quintet in a while
It feels like this is how it was intended to be played
Great arranging as always, Seb! I really enjoyed this one.
thanks, glad to hear it

One of your best yet Seb! Great arrangement, nice harmonies and clean playing. Loved the bass line . More like this please.
Thanks Ralph, will do!
Pretty smooth arrangement and playing…but Dude, that tuba part is bomb. Nice work!
The voicing at 2:54 was really neat. Excellent job. Keep up the good work
I purchased this and my group is performing it at our next (private) show at the Army School of Music. We love it.
WOW that baseline is clean
this is seriously underrated
literally got me jumping up and down!
duuuuuuuuuuude this is funky fresh
The bass sounds like a lovely p bass at times !
The trumpet line at 2:10 is so good oh my gosh
Just LOVELY. Made my heart sing!!!
Absolutely loved this! Great song, and a lovely cover bro. You've got a real knack for capturing the original sound of the song in your arrangements
cheers, glad to hear it!
Delightful! ❤️ So many little moments in the arranging that make me happy.
Oh yeah also, interesting colour grading.
trying to match the brown and beige aesthetic of the original video 😅
I always love how accurate your arrangements are. So lovely!
Not bat at all. I dig it 😎
Totally Awesome. Thanks for sharing. As a fellow trumpet player, I love. your work.
Very smooth 🔥.
Really like the energy coming wih this sound and your movement 👍.
I like this.
Nice, clean. Keen to grab the sheet music for this when I can spare the cash and have a go fully transcribed to tenor and bass bone.
tone off the charts!!!!!
This is so damn fye
Love it! Bought the arrangement and I’m bringing it to read with my quintet this week.
Dayumn another banger as usual i m really looking for people to form a quintet now thx a lot
Same man, but finding brass players that want to do stuff like this is difficult lol
Simply amazing! Awesome playing and arranging.
How do you get a flugelhorn to sound like a tuba? Overall the composition and performance were great. It reminded me of my college days playing brass quintets.
He pitches it down 2 octaves with his music software. He probably messes with the eq as well to give it that tuba sound
I copied and pasted Seb's words here...
"Find out how I turn my Flugelhorn into a Tuba here: ua-cam.com/video/9sDjrnE5XGc/v-deo.html "
Very professional.
Great Seb. Like your work, playing, skill.... Keep it bro!
So cool
Awesome! Such a nice and chill song
You never miss seb
absolut masterpiece
bassline had me outta my chair for this one.
I love the way the video looks nice.
Niceeeeee‼️🔥
Oh lovely Seb as usual!
amazing! the joy of music is here!
Can you please add this to spotify? This would be my number one song in my playlist.
So good
Sweet! I love the Trombone work.
sick
Wow!
Well done Seb. That's a great arrangement played superbly
Smooth and brilliant! Lovely arrangement and beautiful sound :) feels like a modern classic
Excellent work!
Amazing
Sweet!
Yeaaassss!!!
Great arrangement. But shouldn't it be E major instead of E minor at 1:40? Would fit the b9 in the melody I think.
That's so cool!
Super Love this version. I wish my video of this song was as good as yours Seb! Awesome!
Really nice, hopefully someone takes the sheet music and executes with real tuba and I get to listen
Wow
oustanding
Awesome! 😃😃😃👏👏👏👍👍👍
Please tell me you’re not using pitch correct. Your intonation is pluperfect!
Thanks! I use it on the trombone because that thing is almost impossible to get in but otherwise I try and avoid it

trumpets are panned quite hard, that's for sure! gets a really wide stereo image
Woow This is very beautiful my friend! 👏🏼You did an awesome job 😊 (I covered this too btw) 😀
❤️❤️❤️❤️
What soprano trombone do you have I was looking at getting one
Where did you get your soprano trombone from?
What kind of tuba is that!?!?
always read the description
@@sebskelly Oh I didnt see the -2 octaves lol
Spotify👀
where do you get your scores seb?
I arrange them all myself
Sounds like la trakalosa de Monterrey
Can a flugel horn really play that low?
No it’s a flugelhorn pitched down 2 octaves
Seb is your alto pitched in E-flat or F?
What kind of instrument is just a “horn”?
In a brass quintet, it's a French horn.
But here it looks like from left to right he has a trumpet, flugelhorn, flugelhorn down two octaves, slide trumpet down an octave, and another flugelhorn.
Awe?! Sonic is in the title of this video huh!? 😃 Did you go and see Sonic 2 already Seb?! 😃 Don’t worry! I won’t spoil it! ;) 👍
I love your arrangements man, but have you considered getting a different trombone instead of that little guy you're using? you clearly know your way around the instrument, and I feel like you'd open up some sonic potential with a trombone whose range wasn't so limited!
As a trumpet player who also learned trumbone, and owns a soprano trumbone...I'd venture to say its about the mouth piece.
Unfortunately, thumb up can press once only.
what is the point of showing the instruments if they are not even correct? Did you want to show them, but they were too big to fit on the screen, so you used smaller instruments?
See description. The instruments are the exact ones he played I guess. The title "tuba" is misleading.
The labels in the video are the parts I'm playing which is surely less confusing than labelling them as the instruments I'm playing
A trumpet player playing a brass quintet with "trumpets".
The lines dance and weave, really love the bass. Thanks for the read.
