Im so happy for you martin and your little family to see all your progress you and martin have did a great job setting everything out its much easier that way accessing kitchen bathroom etc it just proves that hard work pays off i cant wait to see it all finished sending love from australia 😊❤
Wow, it’s so beautiful and everyone looks like their growing so lovely. What a beautiful home you have I can’t wait to see what the weather is like up there. Thanks again again for all your hard work and sharing with us. Happy holidays.
You look very happy! Organizing Martin seems to bring you great joy! (English humour). Already had minus and snow up North. Thats a great perspective from up there.
@@ourportuguesehomestead Yes, thankyou. I made sure to obtain more firewood this winter, last February i was looking at my wooden furniture....... stay cosy.
Martin and Lea! I am so happy for you all now that you are moved to your dream area. And I love everything. The views are amazing! I know it was so hard, moving always is. I can't wait to see your gardens. Can you still use the old gardens down the hill? I think I would. I'm happy for your chickens. What thrilled me the most were your happy smiles. I haven't been visiting you much, but I am sorry for that, but I will be checking up on you again to enjoy the updates. Take care, and many blessings are sent your way! Janice from Arkansas USA

You Two are the real deal.....I applaud you for starting over....your relocation is coming together nicely ~💚 and I have seen Lea SMILE more in this video than I have in ALL the videos I have watched (over two years now) and that makes me very happy to see such a pretty smile!! (from S. California 74y/o Grama) 💚
I'm so curious to see how everything settles out after you've made adjustments over the next year. I love how it's coming together. It sounds like you have been flat-out working on this, so now you need to take some time to decompress and find your balance again. The views are lovely.
It's a smashing upgrade and I'm sure you will be happier up there. Once you have everything beside you (veggie garden etc), just think how much easier it will be for you. Well done both of you and if course to your friends who helped along the way. Day by day you'll see a difference in the surrounding area and once you have tidied up and sorted paths etc it will be just perfect. Hope you are all looking forward to the holiday celebrations
3 months, don’t stress, I moved 2 years ago and I’m still not finished getting my stuff organised without building anything 😂😂 but it is just me, no helping hands ~ you’re doing great!
It's always a good thing to reassess/reorganize things from observational things you made in the past that serve you no longer or are inefficient to your own personal natural flow state. That giddy smile while dishwasher was working is palpable. Glad you got your homestead back in another form of order and hopefully relieves your pain points until the next revision, which always happens. I'd highly suggest you put screening around areas you would rather flies not land on everything. Screening is super cheap. On the front porch of your kitchen build, putting any sort of screening in the area will reduce overall temps in the dog days of summer and depending on if you use black screen or white screen, you get a certain level of privacy with it as well from distant lookey-loos if that's even a consideration. I had a buddy who had a noticeably "cool porch" during summer where he had these small water hoses with outlets installed above the screening and "misting" tips aimed at the screening. In the dog days of summer, it was a very comfortable consideration. Don't know how hot it gets there for you but that's a suggestion as well.
Hi Ref. Water pumping problem --- what if you had a water tank half way up the hill --- could you them pump for 10 mins plus twice i.e. well to tank & then Tank to Tank . Alan
No, but you would need to move the pump. So long since that video I have no idea if that's viable or not. Some would take minutes to move, but I've forgotten what you have@@ourportuguesehomestead
Instead of a new pump, consider an intermediary IBC tote halfway up the hill. Then you can pump from the well to the middle, before a final step from the middle to the top.
For chickens the electric net fencing is the way to go. It is movable and cheap and does deter predators. If you have a raprtors bird netting protects su pollos! Remember, chickens fly! Shade your water tank, also!
I am happy for you all. You worked hard with help. I hope it won't be long before you get your water pump working the way you want it. Hopefully you can get a greenhouse to get it out of your sitting area. It all takes time but it would be nice if you got sponsored for a greenhouse.Doing great.
Thanks! We have a greenhouse next to our original garden area, you can see it in some of my videos from the spring. We just need to level an area here on top to put it.
Very good job on that kitchen area. Your practical skills have teally vome a long way and must be a reluef yo have all yhe equipment working as it should be.
Why not put a intermediate tank between the well and your water tank. I know you will need another pump but it will cut down on the power consumption. Looks great what you have achieved over the summer.
It’s called a galley kitchen, I like the white, although it’s more to clean, raw timber is more forgiving. The man who dug out your space could have given you a bit more space, is that something you can extend later ? Them bunk beds aren’t going to last much longer the rate the kiddies are growing up!
At my age 85 I love washing dishes by hand. It gets my hands and under fingernails always short clean since I also work on the garden and have my hands often in the dirt.
The new view is just incredible. The new space is altogether a major blessing for your family.
Very happy to see the new setup 😊😊😊 and comes with a view that is 10 out of 10. Congrats 🎉🎉🎉

What a beautiful location. The views are amazing. Glad to see the progress.
Glad to see you on higher ground ! Everything is looking good !! 👍
Please consider painting the exposed edge of OSB at the entrance. It will make the material las far longer.
I did paint it and we'll put a strip of wood over it to seal it even more :)
Yes paint it seal somehow !!!
The move didn't solve all of your problems, but it solved many of them. It was a lot of very hard work. Thank you for another great video.
You look very happy! Organizing Martin seems to bring you great joy! (English humour). Already had minus and snow up North. Thats a great perspective from up there.
Hope you're staying warm up there! It's been getting colder here as well, no frost yet though

Wow, enjoy your new build kitchen... Looking forward to your new garden❤️❤️❤️

Gaat goed! Beide kinderen genieten erg van school

Fair play to you! You have a lot of energy and enthusiasm!
Been looking forward to seeing how you settled into the yurt in its new place. Sending good vibes from Pembrokeshire ❤

Looks great. After all the work and troubles it feels good to look and live in something built by self.

Respect for you guys, it looks fabulous! I love how you built the kitchen! 🫶 Your english really improved btw!
Gorgeous view!
Beautiful views.
You might want to put a piece of fencing over the top. My chickens flew up onto my garage roof, and that's quite high. Lol.
Oh no! We'll see how long they stay in there I guess 😂
incredible view! ❤❤
Hi Ref. Water pumping problem --- what if you had a water tank half way up the hill --- could you them pump for 10 mins plus twice

Well then we need to buy an extra pump as well...

Superb 🎉
Instead of a new pump, consider an intermediary IBC tote halfway up the hill. Then you can pump from the well to the middle, before a final step from the middle to the top.
Our pump is too big to move that much, so we’d need to buy another pump either way.
Love the new spot. The views are phenomenal

Well done.
Aaaah, te gek lieve mensen. Zo ontzettend hard gewerkt!! En dat uitzicht🧡

Fantastic job . Well done!
Everything is looking very nice.
Lovely views

Looks great what you have achieved over the summer.
Leah, if you clip the hens wings main feathers back ? They can not fly over their fence.
Yes I know, our original flock is clipped but the younger chicken and roosters aren't
Everything looks great.
Definite upgrade. So happy for you 🇦🇺🎸⚡️🤘🏼🤘🏾💋💙

Them bunk beds aren’t going to last much longer the rate the kiddies are growing up!
A dish washer at last would make any family mom smile!
Or dad 😊
We both love it :)
Yes, very much worth it! Much more practical and convenient! 😊
Working Dishwasher!!! Hooray... that's a Big Deal. 😅
At my age 85 I love washing dishes by hand. It gets my hands and under fingernails always short clean since I also work on the garden and have my hands often in the dirt.
You guys need to get a makita 18v Impact driver, you'll never go back and so much easier and reliable. Great vid
We were planning on buying a new set, but then we ran out of money 😊
