Europeans created this clusterfuck formula especially in their transfer of colonial power to natives. Basically by giving one single tribe of their choosing all the governing power and completely ignoring the rest living in their territory. Of course in due time that single tribe began to look down on the other tribes seeing them as second class citizens and once the communist got involved and started arming those people from the ignored tribes. Europeans kicked rocks, shit got ugly. This literally happened to just about every African nation.

It's not necessarily a 50/50 split... People lean into what they care about. My friends husband was a Muslim Marxist activist from Morocco. He was more Marxist in what he pressed for. Consider that most European Marxists have Christian backgrounds. (It's more Communists that pushed down religion, albeit there's also Marx's opiate of the masses statement)

Libya got most of their revenue from oil. When Qaddafi came to power he nationalized the oil and launched social programs to make Libya stable, for the most part. Qaddafi wanted to oppose Western and imperial forces and was a self proclaimed revolutionary, in fact if you have heard of a terrorist or guerilla group from the 70s/80s their is a high chance Libya was involved.

Argent made a video on the funny acronyms. Do watch his channel. In any case, Thank You for this beauty. I always wish to know what the French were up to. Edit: Watching this, it seems that it began with perhaps understandable causes but Libya seeking it's own ends while entirely isolated by potential allies as well as the new governments increasingly accommodating rebel demands meant instead of France, Libya was the oppressive power. Fascinating stuff as usual.

You missed something in all this, the difference between an arabised African and an arab. The Toubou are black Africans but have been arabised. This is important as France capitalised on the pre existing identity crisis caused by the Arab identity being embedded into Islam. This, I would say is something that can easily be reaolved through dearabising Islam for Islamic Africans but unfortunately Arabs were doing their own racialised approach to intruding into Africa which Europeans built on with their reconquista and age of discovery. That identity crisis is also present in Nigeria with its civil war, Sudan with its civil war, secession of S. Sudan and currrent war and genocide in north Sudan. It also explains the presence of Israel and European countries as they have everything to gain in maintaining Africans fractured and will capitalise on legitimate grievances i.e. South Sudan or Southern Chad.
