Shannon was probably the biggest diamond in the ruff find ever for GS. Really unique. In this song in particular, hes not actually leading the time frame(except for the intro, he leads that). He's going with the guitarist here and doing it with feel. Not many will notice this. Those who understand can see and hear what hes doing and it's pretty awesome! The last iconic drummer who used to be able to do this on god tier level was John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. John used to do that with Jimmy Page on certain songs. That'll tell what kind of company Shannon is in. The ability to fade and glide into and out of notes and feel transitions with other bandmates while still putting your stamp on the sound is something very few musicians can even dream of doing. Shannon is what this band is so thankful for cause he puts the polish on their unique sound.

One of the best live performance bands ever. And Shannon is just insane - never see him mentioned in the "Oh this drummer is the best" bullshit on the net - but the dude deserves more respect he is infinitely more entertaining to watch than most. Taking nothing away from the rest of the band - been all over the east coast to see them.

i first saw Shannon Larkin with Wrathchild America opening for Testament and I thought that he was fucking amazing back then,then a couple years later my band Alienation got to open shows for Souls at Zero(which is wrathchilds name change) in san antonio tx and dallas and got to meet him and hang out was cool then i didnt hear about him until i heard he joined Godsmack which is a perfect band for him...love him still...
As a hippie generation listener, really into the genre of music bands like Godsmack saliva Drowning Pool Etc, godsmack's drummer is pretty amazing, they are very tight band when all is said and done! And who can't like a tough ass front man named Sully🎸🔊✌

I forgot how amazing Larkiin is-was on drums. Was incredible in his first band Wrath child America, and still one of the best rock drummers out there.
