Since you liked Joy Mech so much, I really recommend checking out Uchu Mega Fight. Heavily inspired by Joy Mech and it's doing crossovers with another indie fighter, Robo Oh.
When I first saw Skapon/Sukapon in Smash Ultimate as an Assist Trophy, my reaction was 'who is this and why are they not a full blown fighter?' Then I got to play Joy Mech Fight and really enjoyed it, even copied its style of character design to try and get around my own poor art skills for making an FG. Glad to see it getting some love here.
It's nowhere near a full game right now, just me playing around with this fighting game engine called Castagne, which is still in development and last I checked not even capable of making full games yet.@@frumiousgaming
Honnestly I think it'd be worth digging deeper and trying to see what FGs even are on the Switch, there are a lot of interesting ports and a few original fighters on Switch IMO but you only ever hear about Smash and the odd Pokkén mention
Yes! There’s some of the older guilty gears, under night and melty blood type lumina, dbfz and lots of classics like the capcom fighting collection etc, and a surprising amount of other ports - even though it sounds like the mk1 port on switch is a bit of a disaster, it’s kind of remarkable that it’s on there at all, and there’s no reason for it not to play well with very downgraded graphics. Most of the ports on the switch don’t have crossplay which is a shame but I think Battle For The Grid does, I’d love to try that one out. Actually I think Thems Fighting Herds has crossplay too that should include the switch version? I have actually never played pokken, and haven’t touched smash since playing melee at a friend’s house around 2004 so I would like to give those a try at some point. The only other switch exclusive I can think of is Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers but I’m sure they’re more - worth digging deeper, as you said. In a way I wonder if steam deck and similar devices kill the main benefit of having fighting games on switch, but there are still tens of millions of people out there with switches who don’t have steam decks etc.
@@frumiousgaming Yeah there are a couple of exclusives like ARMS, Pokkén, Smash and USFII, and sometimes a lot of history too (Skullgirls for instance got a port so bad it essentially got re-ported from scratch by Lab Zero) I'd be down to help at some point with cataloguing the Switch's fighting game library and see everything it has to offer too ^^
Is there any way to play Street Fighter HD Remix nowadays? I never liked the idea of the Switch replacement of HD Remix (the one with Evil Ryu and Violent Ken).
I saw VF2 in the thumbnail and for a second got INCREDIBLY excited until I realized it's almost DEFINITELY talking about the 2D Genesis downport of it
😭😭 that’s how I felt when I started the game up and realised it was the 2D version!
@@frumiousgaming man looks like im about to play yakuza 5 VF
Joy Mech Fight looks like a ton of fun, I’ve never heard of it tbh. Great video as always, keep em coming 👍🏽
Thanks Tony, if I was you I’d give the fan translated English version a go, let me know what you think if you do try it!

What was the fighting game you made in the Joy Mech Fight style?

I don’t think so sadly unless you can find a physical copy of the Capcom Digital Collection for Xbox 360
Special championship sf2 on megadrive was much better than snes version
I’ve never tried the snes version! What was wrong with it?
@@frumiousgaming the version of sf2 on snes was super turbo.... md was just more fluid it was the best home version imo
