My Mom used to make this layered salad in a 9×13 too and it was always a family favorite!! I make it too on special occasions and it is delicious 😋 ❤
A layered Cobb Salad! Awesome!
We always called it 7 layers salad. Same dressing recipe but we did:
1) Lettuce
2) Frozen cooked peas
3) diced ham
4) salad onion
5) eggs
6) cheese
7) salad topping.

Try putting a bag of frozen peas on top of the salad just before topping it with the sour cream and then the shredded cheese. The frozen peas keeps the salad nice and crisp. The peas make all the difference!

I have been making this salad for years, but always use ham. I never thought of using bacon. Bacon sounds really good so this Easter I'm gong to use bacon. Thanks for the great idea!
Absolutely delicious 😋. Love spring mix/iceberg combination. For Easter 🐣 I have to keep the bunnies happy with finely grated carrots added to lettuce mix & toasted sunflower seeds to topping. I never thought of letting a salad sit overnight in the refrigerator so that the homemade dressing could seep down all through it and coat everything. I'm definitely going to try that homemade dressing. This salad is perfect to go with your slow cooker garlic and brown sugar pork chops you made about a week ago!

Sounds good, I would use butter, iceberg & romaine lettuce, shredded carrot & red cabbage, No onions, eggs ok, no bacon minimal cheese & yes I would add bean sprouts !!
So basically you have an entirely different recipe that you think is than hers😅

I LOVE Hellmann's mayo!!! I grew up on it. It's not as tangy as Miracle Whip. It's good with salad dressings, deviled eggs, mac and potato salads. I can't wait to make this!!!!
