      Just do everything your coach tells you to do. Don’t think you know more than your coach. That’s the best advice I can give you. I don’t want to tell you something and it’s different from what your coach is teaching.
      In the off season do my workout program.
      You can get it at www.EyeSportsGear.store.

      Sprinting has a lot of factors to play into it. And you’re young so that also plays in your favor. Sprinting fast is is basically how much power you can put into the ground. One simple thing you can start doing is plyometrics. Start with simple plyometrics in the off season and simple weightlifting to get that base then trust your coach and learn things on your own as well. Speed can’t be rushed so just trust the process.

    Do you think this is a valid training mmacrocyle?
    Start it off with acceleration + strength building(resistance sprints, timed 10-30m sprints, fundamental weight training, plyos, and form drills, all lasting 4-5 months)
    Then moves onto max velocity + power building(40yd, flying sprints, form work, & Olympic lifts, all lasting 3-4 months)
    Finally ending with top end speed development(60-80m, & speed endurance, lasting 3-4 months)
    Refining each of these speed components before moving on to the next one.

    • @ChrisBookTV
      @ChrisBookTV  23 дні тому +1

      I don’t anything is wrong with that plan. Are you trying to peak at a specific time of year or something like that? I’m trying to understand the 3-5 months of focusing on one thing.

    Would it be fine for an overweight(104kg) sprinter like me to use resistance for my sprints or should I stick to bodyweight training?

  • @Rack979
    @Rack979 19 днів тому +1

    You might need an absolute strength lift to help your power clean (you+barbell is a lot of weight!). Most weightlifters train the front squat to hit the same muscles used in the power clean (a bit more quads used than a high bar or low-bar back squat).
    Otherwise, a solid plan!

    • @ChrisBookTV
      @ChrisBookTV  24 дні тому +2

      I think it's a little different because the 800m does not required you to put max force into the ground with each step like you have to with short sprints. 800 is about endurance and strength. I'm sure improving your 100m sprint could help improve your 800 though.

    How do you increase turnover (frequency) while maintaining the stride length

    • @ChrisBookTV
      @ChrisBookTV  16 днів тому +1

      Turnover improves with technique. If you are landing properly and using the right angles. Your legs will naturally move faster bc your muscles won’t have to work as hard to make up for bad running mechanics.
