    Exactly, there is an app for that so reminder is done. I have to normally change every ten days but I find it more comfortable to wear a pair for 11-12 days as then the next pair is not as painful in the first couple of days. And I wear it religiously for 21-22 hours per day.

      I'm also prescribed to change my trays every 10 days and I can't imagine speeding this up. The first day is horrible, the second day gets slightly better, the third day is usually somewhat ok and from the fourth day on, I don't feel any pain or pressure at all. One could say my teeth are ready after a week, but they need some rest and so do I. And when there is an event like a party/vacation etc., I just extend the wearing time a bit. It seems to me there's no point in rushing the process.

    I’m on week 14/19. No issues so far changing once per week and I’m already seeing great progress and an obvious change in my teeth. I’m so glad I did it, my oral hygiene has never been better, and being forced to eat 3 meals a day with no snacks is having a positive effect on my health. Im feeling hopeful that I won’t require any more trays after that, but if I do I’m ok with that, it’s been no real bother for me.

    I'm nearly 52 years old in the UK and have just started Invisalign last week. I'm on weekly tray changes and have a total of 51 trays. A quite peek at tray 51 shows my teeth looking fabulous! I maybe will need refinements after that so I'm sure it will take longer than a year. But I have severe overcrowding on the top and bottom of my teeth, so if 51 weeks is all it may possibly take, that would be great. I think initially I was told 18-24 months it may take, so was surprised at receiving the whole (only) 51 trays last week. Tray 1 is going pretty well so far...

    The hygiene is a good point. By velocity, do you mean that you would have a smaller movement distance for any given tooth? What is the maximum movement distance for any given tooth if I want to change the aligner every week?

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  Рік тому +3

      Invisalign clear aligners parameters are 0.25mm and 2 degrees of rotation programmed in each aligner. Dentists can modify this movement velocity to adapt to more difficult or less predictable movements. It can be done for 1 tooth, multiple teeth or the whole arch.

    Will changing trays more often not make your teeth more susceptible to root resorption?

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  Рік тому +3

      That is an excellent question! Multiple articles have been published on root resorption and clear aligners. It is actually the subject of our upcoming online course: Root resorption and periodontal problems with clear aligners. Stay tuned, and you will have all the answers to your questions.

    Im using my aligners every two weeks but I feel that with one week is enough. righ now Im in my week 2 with my aligners but I dont feel any pressure in my teeth anymore. Should I ask to my dentist change my aligners each week?

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  11 місяців тому +2

      Your dentist might have a good reason to do so. But asking your dentist about it will give you the answer :) We love it when patients are interested and engaged in their treatment.

    Hlo... I have missing upper two laterals with space .. Is alligners helfull for me to replacement of canine in place of lateral incisor

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  3 місяці тому

      Always depending on your case, it may be possible. But in similar cases, aligners can be used to either to create and open spaces for implants or to close spaces and for example bringing canines to substitute the missing laterals. Each case is unique and has to be evaluated by a knowledgeable dentist or orthodontist.

    Mine says 4 days!

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  Рік тому +1

      Your treating dentist/orthodontist probably has a good reason for that. Sometimes we can play with the velocity of movement programmed in the aligners. You could ask him/her why it is 4 days in your case.

    I’m very confused. Why is my orthodontist telling me to wear my aligners for 2wks? After 3 trays I see no difference. I don’t think they’re working but he tells me to stick with it. Why would he make me endure the treatment for twice as long as is necessary? It makes no sense.

    • @theCLEARinstitute
      @theCLEARinstitute  Рік тому +6

      It doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense. Your orthodontist might have a good reason to make you wear them 2 weeks. We suggest you ask him/her directly. The other thing is it is possible that after 3 trays you don’t see any difference. Sometimes we start with movements in the posterior region and it doesn’t really show. Hang in there. Usually patients don’t regret it!
