Great, great! Garanca has got one of the most beautiful mezzo timbres I ever heard, incredibly solid, rounded, warm and rich in colours and harmonics. And she still adds to that her amazing technique. She's still only 32 and her recordings show a very great voice, I wonder how many unforgettable artistic achievements she may reach in the next years! Great actress, great voice, wonderful looks and a serious artist who chooses her repertoire carefully. What else can you ask for? ;-)

Wow, Elina,you're simply great! I like this singer so much not only because of the voice color and timbre but also for her expressiveness. She's amazing! It's not easy to do those stacatto when you have a voice like hers - very big one but versatile and beautiful! She's one of my best Singers! I do reallly want to see on stage one day. Reply from one of LOCs senior music specialists re score: I have found no indication that Vivaldi's "Il Bajazet" (1735) has ever appeared in a published version in either a full score or piano-vocal score format. A performing version of this opera was apparently prepared specifically for the recording from unpublished manuscript material held at the Music Department of the National Library of the University of Turin, Italy. Also, possibly contact Virgin records.
And the translation is: Often among pretty flowers in the verdant meadow, a poisonous snake lies hidden, and one who passes through tries to escape in vain. Similary I cannot escape from love and pity, anger and cruelty. And yet I am content to leave grandeur and the throne, dearest, for love of you.

Her Italian sounds chewed, not very clear. I agree that she's willing to throw away too much of her voice for convey that passsion, and in her coloratura. I hear this problem with many singers when it comes to their coloratura.
True, but if there's one thing Bartoli has going for her, it's passion. Unfortunately, she's willing to throw away too much of her voice for convey that passsion, and to show off her speed. I enjoy some of Bartoli's slower, more lyrical work, but in pretty much anything with coloratura, I can't stand her.
