What a great episode!! I learned more in this show than any with Michael or Mark! And awesome playing! And a sweet reissue bass. All around solid thumping thursday
you don't know what funk is until you listen to Clark 🎸 don't know if Clark has a venmo or something think we should all give a couple bucks so he can own that base
Love that Bass ..!!! I actually dig the color …. I know a lot of folks H8T it ..!! I don’t…!!! I am one of the rare few who thinks Strats & Teles both can look great wearing the right shade / shades of gold …
One of my favourite telecasters was refinished in gold. It was gorgeous. When done right, they look fabulous! However, I personally collect silver/platinum and metal-flaked guitars. My most prized guitars are all metallic, but not golden.
As always Clark sweet tones and playing. Jen please can you include a shot of the amp and controls settings to help put the tone in context, should do it with all the demos really, thank you
Quarter-Sawn is not only stronger because of the vertical grain to resist string tension (think a stack of beams on edge vs a stack of planks laying flat) it is also much more stable. Any expansion/contraction will happen front to back instead of side to side so you will not get the sharp fret ends showing up every winter. Of Cochise that wouldn’t be an issue here anyway bc of the slab fingerboard vs Fender’s normal thin overlay. Bottom line this is a MUCH better neck.
Great specs from Brandon I am always learning even though I have played a while now. It is the tone, that is why this bass seems to be the winner in life of the basses. Coupled with the sheer playability and quality of design and build, it is what made fender the American icon it is. Hear a gibson bass and it adds a completely different tone to a song - like in Cream a more retro wilder 60s rock thing. The Clarity of the Fender has won the studio war but different musicians look for different sound palettes. Fender modelled their sound from the guitars and the amps. You cannot doubt the brilliance of Leo, but different equipment offers different options. People are asking will Clark go for the guitar bass mandolin triplet like JACK play some funk on a Loyd Loar. Endless thought about that one...FOR ALL VIEWERS OF MY CHANNEL CHECK READ NEW UPDATED PARENT GUIDE AND ALL INFORMATION WITH GUIDED OPINION - ONLY TO BE REGARDED AS SUCH - AN ETHOS OF FREE THINKING - referencing PHILOSOPHY and the NEW Testament.the Cat. Brandon calls this bass a tri-gold, but what are the three gold aspects? He notes it has a gold painted body, an anodized gold guard, but what's the third? Maybe if it had gold hardware it'd be a tri-gold.
Love the energy that Clark the tap dancing chemist brings to GOTD.
Wow, Clark is the Man! Big personalty and seems like such a great guy and player. More of Clark please.
I like the lute maker explanation about the neck and the fretboard… thanks. The musician that play this beautiful PBass is a monster 🔥🔥🔥
Smooth like butter. Thanks Clark!

Gold guitars are great! My brother growing up was a Sunburst LP guy, I gravitated toward the Goldtops.

Great tone. Love how you play!
Fun fact: The bass was actually red before he picked it up, he’s just the King Midas of bass.
When I pick up the bass I do the midas in reverse lol
