And knowledgeable.
This guy was stoked to be here and it shows!
▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ █ 100 % ﮮooレ
The best thumping Thursday ever. Norm should hire that guy. LOL
Worst ever. Enough with the guest hosts. Give them separate bits if you must as you've always done, but this isn't GotD worthy.
Admiral you must have watched a different video. LOL
mark hated bass guitars. So how do you figure this isn't guitar of the day Worthy.
@@guitarocd9984 Because my ears work?
Are you sure LOL
What a great surprise !
My buddy Rudy Sarzo !
No fair! Now you can sell it because Rudy S played it! And he’s right - bass has ALWAYS been cool - and he’s one of the reasons! Nice move to bring in a ringer!

Okay. This is easily the best Thumpin' Thursday ever. By a long, long way.
Easily one of the best episodes of guitar of the day anyway
He’s awesome! I like the guest host mixed in occasionally.
Man, I’m 50 and as far back as me listening to music Rudy has been a prominent player. He’s such a class act and I love listening to him play and talk. I’m I guitarist but any time I listen to him I learn something. Such a cool guy
I love Rudy so much man
Rudy Sarzo seems to be a very down to earth person. Such a nice guy.
Now that's how you introduce a bass. A legend in my book Mr. Rudy sarzo. I'm sure he's influenced many bassist. Thanks Mr. Sarzo for being so passionate for the precision bass fender rules.
Great conversation. I loved his passion for guitars. it really showed.
Man, Kudos for Rudy Sarzo a real gentleman, guitar connaiseur, bass virtuoso and a top class entertainer.
What a gentlemen and legend!
Best thumpin' Thursday ever! A real bass player. Rudy Rocks!!!
Not only an amazing bass player but so knowledgable about the instrument. I love Rudy.
---That bass sounds GREAT !!!
There is no substitute for enthusiasm. When Rudy first picked up this gorgeous bass and curled those fingers into his playing position, you could see the passion in his eyes. One of the best, if not The Best bass show and tell done on GOTD. Mr. Sarzo would be a welcomed guest for a Thumpin Anyday, at Norman's Rare Guitars!!
Love Rudy!!! Thought he was going to turn his left hand around as he fretted the strings. Total Rudy style!!!
Good to see brother Rudy jamming away, thanks Mike n Jen 💐🎸
Rudy!! Yes! I love this dude! Such a genuine guy and has played with some of the best rock artists of a golden era in music. Also just a straight up bass monster!
I'm not even a Bass guy but Rudy made this so interesting with his knowledge. Awesome guest host!
This proves that, at the end of the day, we are all 13 years old kids on the inside - what a great enthusiatsic presentation of an incredible instrument.
Please bring more bass players on thumpin Thursday please! Best bass video ever
Love thumping thursday with an actual bass player.👍
This is beyond cool!
Love Rudy. Awesome Thumpin’ Thursday for my 50th B-Day. Thanks Michael and Jen!
wow . . . Sarzo's passion is deep, sincere and radiates . . . super cool!
Rudy should write a book. His experiences and knowledge needs to be preserved.

A Fender Precision Bass is one of my favorite bass guitars. Also, good bass playing.
Finally a guest that's worthwhile
Best Thumpin' Thursday, EVER!!!
Rudy was Great. You should call this Star of the Day.
Very impressive, Rudy knows as much about basses as Rick knows about Gibsons !!! Great show Rudy, thanks for sharing all of your knowledge.
Best Thumpin Thursday ever!
I love the history lesson that comes with Guitar of the Day.
I can listen to Mr. Sarzo all day!! AMAZING!!!
Rudy is such a cool guy! I love it when a rock hero turns out to be cool. Rock royalty!
Great to see Rudy here, sorta on the fly, so to speak. He was very knowlegable. I also love his bit on playing 'unplugged' first. after all this time, i'd never plug in unless it was serious (buying mode). my '75 Strat i bought with out ever plugging it in. Like SRV said 'i just knew'.
Did I just watch Rudy talk himself into buying this thing?
Living Legend! Always cool and down to earth. Quite Riot, White Snake, Ozzy, The Guess Who, Dio
Think he even played with Blue Oyster Cult for a bit. The ultimate “gun for hire”
Jason West Have you seen Rudy in Hired Gun on Netflix?
Tat2Dragons just watched it last week. Great documentary!
Jason West Nice! I also thought it was great. 👍
Tat2Dragons found out Billy Joel is a real jerk!
This man is amazing
Thank you Rudy! What a pleasure to see you play! That made my day!
Met Rudy and the QR guys back in 1983. I was a punk kid and he could not have been cooler. Made a big impression on me.
I always have been a fan of Rudy's tremendous talent playing the base, but I am an even a bigger fan of the person. To have all that success and stay such a down to earth person is incredible!
The enthusiasm is so awesome.
Professor Rudy Sarzo
thanks NRG!!!!!
Man... Rudy Sarzo = Legend.....
Makes me want to play! Great episode.
Rudy is just a legend and a super nice guy
Best.Episode.Ever. (Thumpin and even it's a top5 of all GOTD)
Mike, you are kicking serious butt here brother, can't wait for the next episode every day.
Awesome seeing Randy thumping away. Brings back some great memories of times and songs past that brought big bass to rock. 👍
Wow! Priceless.
What a great episode!!! This guy knows what he's talking about.
Now that is a bass review. Players like Rudy know the instrument and can put across that knowledge and show the enthusiasm for their craft. More of this on Thumping Thursday please!
Rudy's a freaken legend! I dig all the band's he's played in.
Rudy, thank you so much for appearing on the show. Loved your knowledge and input.
I can dig it.
Rudy Freakin' Sarzo! Wow, what a treat. A fantastic musician playing a fantastic instrument! Thanks Michael for stepping aside on this one. Looking forward to Friday as well!!!
Phenomenal! Hopefully he comes back time to time.
One of my Rock Idols, Awesome Video, what an Amazing Bass player. 🤘🏼
Immmmmmmmpressive. First thumpin' thursday I've watched where I wasn't only interested in the set list entries. Way to go Rudy!
Legendary bass player. Finally a great guest.
Yet his "playing" was unlistenable and most of his "facts" were bullshit myths.
What a great guy Rudy is. Cool episode, I hope all this knowledge is sinking in Mike!
A brilliant Thumpin Thursday. So passionate and knowledgeable about his instrument!
WOOOOW man that's a GREAT guest
MY FAVORITE BASSIST!!!!!!!
Rudy with the Knowledge man. Wish he swung that bass around like in the Quiet Riot days
If only that "knowledge" was factual.
@@AdmiralQuality ... Well, where is he wrong Sailor?
@@michaelgallagher3640 For one, Nitrocellulose lacquer isn't "illegal". (The *solvent* , acetone, is in *only in California* , *only in large quantities* and *only very lately* -- they use an alternative, but either way that all evaporates off anyway.)
The slab board has nothing to do with international sales or neck stability. That was just how they did it. The laminate board was to save money/materials.
The necks don't "petrify". That's ridiculous. The guitar would be faulty and impossible to setup if that was the case.
That's just off the top of my head without forcing myself to watch it again.
@@AdmiralQuality ... Thx...
Admiral you don't know what you're talkin about. The lacquer of today is different from the lacquer of the 50s and 60s. He is correct that lacquer is illegal. Do some homework.
Freaking cool! Actually watched thumpin Thursday
I officially like bass day now!!! Check out Rudy giving history on the instrument and everything. Mark should be proud
Always awesome to listen to Mr. Sarzo.....chuckled when he said Nornan's has Insane prices....lol
Rudy Sarzo is a national treasure.
Rudy was refreshing. This was the first time I have really enjoyed Thumpin' Thursday. I appreciate accomplished professionals and their take on things and issues. I value their input. I got more out of this one video than the 30 or so Bass GOTDs that preceded it! Thanks folks!
I wish Rudy could do ALL the bass shows.!!!!!! amazing and MUCH RESPECT
Best guitar of the day ever! Super interesting and knowledgeable dude. Could listen to him talk about Fender bases for ages!
Loved this one Rudy! Everyday is thump day. I'm blessed to have played with you brother !
