I realize Nolan hasn't yet had even close to the impact of any of these men. However, he does suspense and characters better than Hitchcock did. He does mind-bending photography better than Kubrick did. He uses sets and set pieces better than Welles did. Honestly, if he keeps up like this for the rest of his career, he may go down as the greatest director of all time.
I really like his reserved attitude when someone tells him how great he is. He really doesn't want to be a role model and that's exactly the right attitude because you can never become a great director by just looking up to others. You need to look inside yourself just as he said ...
Chris Nolan never went to film school. Not going to film school doesn't mean a damn thing. You can learn everything you have to about filmmaking in 10 minutes.
I love how Nolan's films can be considered as a family collaboration.
You should rename the title:
"God captured on camera"

if it isn't so difficult, why aren't other directors making films like 'inception' that wasn't supposed to even have an audience?
Inception was nominated for eight Academy Awards and won four?
Nobody gives credit to Jonathan Nolan.
People dare make noise when the Messiah speaks?
love how when everyone was cheering for dark knight Nolan didn't even smile
I still so blown away by Inception... Chris Nolan is genius!!!!
Thanks for posting this, I missed his talk and was gutted.
