Even if you don't live right on the water you can keep pinfish alive for several days on end, maybe even indefinitely. You just need to make sure they get enough oxygen and that you rotate out the water you're keeping them in each day. I just stop at the park on my way home from work and scoop up a couple buckets of river water then drain about 3/4 of the water I'm keeping them in and replace it with the new water I just collected. Doing this I've kept them alive for as long as a week. Just know that this may not work if you have 2 or 3 dozen of them in a single 5 gallon bucket. In a 10 or 15 gallon cooler with two or three aerators though, it shouldn't be an issue to keep a couple dozen of them like this for several days, as long as you don't let their water get nasty.

@@FloridaSportFishing thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check it out. I'm over in SWFL and don't go offshore but I certainly do appreciate all your seminars and I always seem to get something useful from them, even from the ones that seem to have nothing to do with the kind of fishing I'm able to do. They are like gold. Thank You!

mike people will pay an arm and a leg to go fishing with you . I watched your pinfish show and it was great . I use traps to get my pinfish , but last week I left my trap and some ' ALPHA HOTEL" guys stole my pinfish , They did not stole the trap , they just stole my pinfish and left a new chumblock on the trap . I know this because I caught them the moment they were doing it . When they saw me approaching , they took off . From now on I leave my traps and pretend I am fishing on my boat a few feet away , hopping I can catch them on the act .

This seminar series is good stuff. For old salts it’s redundant but I still get reminded of basics I have left behind (that diagonal cut pin soaked under the mangroves for redfish in the summertime). Great stuff. I’m a Marathon guy too. I 👀 you 👍🏻

Readily available and easy as hell to catch. That alone makes them my favorite bait for inshore reds. My preferred way of catching them is a 3wt fly rod.

Hit the humps with jigs also good for tuna and amber jacks
Dumbest way I have caught pinfish is with a small open swivel clip with a piece of paper on a hand line. One after the next. Easy cheap bait.
