Ellis, you started your reaction with a hard truth: "You can not make everybody happy all the time", and that is something that I hope that Angelina understands one day, without feeling unhappy. She is not a pop singer, or a main stream artist. She is special, but she is not commercial. To sing that song so slowly and with so much perfection, beauty and sensitivity requires lots of talent, lots of work, and lots of artistry, but it is not commertial, and I am sayng that because there are singers that sale millions of records and they are not half as good as Angelina, and you don´t hear Angelina on the radio, or you don´t see her on the billboards. Crazy world. That is my opinion.
I agree with you but I suspect Angelina understands that.... (some of her fans may not, yet )
We'll see how commercially viable she is in coming years. She and her family agreed to not let her be a slave to commercialism until she grows up a bit. She is still a minor. Who wants paparazzi hounding their child? She'll be fine. Fans are greedy.
Us Angels have to be more patient! I'm so glad her family aren't pushing her out too early. She's still only 17yrs old for heaven's sake!!

Much love and appreciation from California. I remember this song when I was a teenager with the Righteous Brothers. It’s a classic and she gave a wonderful cover to this. Btw, also check Diana Ankudinova’s new songs. “Baikal”OST from the film “The Spirit of Baikal” coming out tomorrow. It’s a tribal, folk, siren type song and her first official movie soundtrack. The one I would really love a reaction to through is “In My Huge City”(jazz/R&B). Enjoy because if you don’t, you won’t!❤️🍀🌈😇🙏🏻❣️

And, like you, those of us who weren't there, having to watch it on Chris' phone, and still being so effected by this performance, cannot imagine what it would be like to actually be there. It almost hurts to know that. It's like knowing about Heaven and not being able to reach it.
This is what I call Angelina's "pure voice." It's absolute heaven.
Although there is considerable controversy about the overall quality of the concert, there is unanimous agreement that "Unchained Melody" was the highlight of the evening! It would be great to hear that rendition with high quality sound. Those in attendance say it was unworldly!
As to the negative fans, I just rewatched your last AJ reaction and have no idea what they would be upset about. The video to which you reacted was terrible! Your reaction to it was appropriate!

I was there, 3rd row just right of center, and this is one of the times the band got it right. The sax player was supporting AJ just right. An occasional quiet run, or soft grace note thrown in for fill. AJ was, of course, spectacular throughout. There were issues with a less than stellar band and mixing at the sound board, but her voice. My God her ineffable voice is something to hear live. That last note in this song, when heard live, was like the sound of a crystal harp. Just pure crystal tone. Unbelievable.
Angelina Jordan, in addition to having a unique and beautiful voice, has a very beautiful aura of delicacy and innocence. I fell in love with this beautiful and delicate singer, she has emotion in her voice.🍃 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍

---- Yes, the saxophonist was standing next to and slightly back from the roughly 10' high stack of line array speakers on the left side of the stage. I was left-side first row in front of these speakers and AJ's mom Sara was next to me sitting in the aisle recording the performance (looked to be livestreaming back to Rob Christie of Republic Records in LA and was also doing some FaceTime with Rob on her iPhone). After the performance Sara got up and scanned the standing ovation by the audience with her iPhone
---- For this song, the four members of the band dialed it back (and possibly also the sound people dialed it back) from what had occurred on many other songs
---- The saxophonist also had at one point during the concert dropped what looked to be his radio transmitter that he had clipped to the back of his pants into the sax. No idea why he did this, but he did do this
---- It would have been better if the sound people, and possibly also the instrumentalists, had a better understanding of not playing too loud and somewhat stepping upon AJ. I doubt there are any singers out there that can compete with a loud instrumentalist if the latter wants to crank it up. With the drummer setup stage level and directly behind AJ, and with what looked to be no damping, he can easily overpower a singer directly in front of him. Being too loud at the wrong points in a song and stepping on top of the singer is not typically desired to happen unless there is some quite weird reason you want to partially drown out the lead singer
---- I personally liked the concert as I just concentrated on AJ and tried to suppress the excess loudness of the instrumentalists in many of the songs even though it was noticeable
---- At one point, AJ was getting ready to sing one of her new EP songs (forget which one it was), and the keyboardist started playing a backing track. AJ stopped and looked at him and said that she sings her songs live. He quickly fumbled around to clumsily remove the backing track from the audio feed. AJ kept glancing at him until the backing track was removed and she could continue
---- Part of the problem could be that AJ only had one rehearsal with the band the day before the concert in a small studio and they could not work out the kinks. I know that when AJ sang Mount Everest during the rehearsal she mentioned that the band was playing the song at a faster tempo. Rather than ask them to slow it down, AJ went with the flow and sang with the faster tempo
---- Another issue could be the location of the soundboard at off mid-stage on the right behind the ride-side column of line array speakers. The sound technicians looked quite young and did not seem to properly understand the acoustics of the venue and how sound was traveling. Even if the saxophonist was too loud for the audience, the sound technicians may not have recognized it because they were behind the saxophonist on the opposite side of the stage. Possibly they did not understand sound acoustics and that the sound energy spreads out over a greater distance the farther you are from the origin of the sound. Thus, what is loud at the point of origin may sound perfectly OK when you are 25' or so across from the sound origin and also behind it. Top shelf sound engineers probably would have understand the sound dynamics better and possibly been able to adjust the sound to a more balanced level so that AJ would not have seemed to be getting stepped upon

Ellis please note that we are seeing a problem with folks who don’t like Angelina or who are jealous of her success come along and bad mouth Angelina and those who react to her with a view to discrediting her and her fan base. I’m not saying some Angels take things too far just please just be aware of the issue I mentioned. I love all your reactions bro! All!

I'm not exactly sure what or who you're talking about. But I will say that if people are being mean and rude, they're not true Angelina fans because she's all about spreading love.
Great reaction Ellis. Your insightfulness sometimes surprises me (it shouldn’t). BigAngieFan was in the middle of the concert hall and to be honest, I don’t think the acoustics were that good, especially from his vantage point. I was at the concert (seated on the right side, on the aisle, four rows from the front). I believe the acoustics were much better in my location, and my recollection was that there was a LOT more interaction on the part of the saxophone. As a matter of fact, there seemed to be a beautiful “call-and-response” interplay going on between Angelina and the saxophone, and it sounded beautiful.
Unchained Melody” definitely was the show stopper of the evening and although beautiful, Chris’ (BigAngieFan) recording doesn’t capture the beauty in its entirety.
I had heard after the fact that the historic music hall wasn’t necessarily known for its great acoustics.
As to the a**hold commenters…
I have been following Angelina from about 2017. From the beginning I was struck at how Angelina’s fans were always so kind and informative. I realized however that as Angelina’s fan base grew, it was inevitable that a few rotten apples would infiltrate her legion of “angels.” 😕. This sadly has happened, and it’s only going to get worse over time. The best WE can do is to spread Angelina’s live and kindness, and hope that it drowns out the vitriol.

Brilliant reaction Ellis. I mean what can you say about this performance. I’m truly speechless. I’ve followed Angelina for 10yrs now. She always makes me cry. I just absolutely adore Angelina. I never thought she could possibly get better but she does. Just out of this world. Ellis please just ignore the despicable people who hide behind their computers. Remember "fan" is short for fanatic. Some ppl are crazy in defending someone they perceive as perfect. I reserve my toxicity for politics! 😉 Anyone trolling you, claiming to defend Angelina, is clearly completely missing Angelina's message of love and positivity.
Yeah there is never a shortage of assholes and people who like to pile on. I especially dislike the latter group. If you have a passionate opinion and get angry along the way, I can sort of understand it within reasonable limits. But people piling on just for the heck of it, gawd!!
I try to ignore them and I figure that I only have to deal with them for a few moments and they have to deal with themselves for their whole life.
Anyway this was such a delight to listen to it, even with the limitations of this recording (and Big Angie Fan did a great job editing it!). It gives me goosebumps. I always enjoy the details you point out. Thanks!
I'm more of a dog person: I grew up with them and cats make me sneeze. I like cats well enough but dogs more so :-)

@@geoffreynorth9046 I believe it was me probably who said that. And there is anti-Angelina trolls who are doing this to make Angelina fans look so negative. And it's working with some channels, I hope that Ellis knows about this and don't just say wow Angelina fans are so negative. Because they are 90% of the time not actual Angelina fans. But other fans of other artists that hates when a channel goes into an Angelina rabbit hole and reactions to their artist becomes minimal. This is what I found out not too long ago, when checking every negative comment I could find and checking the account who done it.
So right about some having to live with themselves and we live outside their toxic stuff.
I have an audio recording from front center and I hear the sax only near the song’s end. I got maybe 8 notes from the sax.
She had a lot in that situation to work against....it should not have been that way..she rose to the occasion here! This strange, last minute band was definitely not with the program " the program being Angelina". Walking out on the st after, guy and his wife walking next to me, the guy said " l could have kicked the drummer off the stage". As far as your opinion, I'm here for it, l definitely want to hear from you, especially here! Don't like cats, but yours is the exception, he works perfectly into your reactions.

There’s a TikTok of this taped by Grandma Mery at a private event sometime after this performance. It’s better sound quality and Angelina sings it even better than here. It’s not the complete song, but it’s pretty close and worth the listen. You should definitely check it out. The band is also different and much better quality!

It has to be said that this was the first time Angelina performed with this band with one day rehearsal time. Also from the people who were there we get that the accoustics of the venue were not that great.

I got to see Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers sing this in Newport Beach Calif. and Angelina's was definitely better.
You missed his 6 sax solos, for most of the concert instead of supporting Angelina these guys did all they could to act like the headliners. What happened in this performance is they finally got out of her way and she did what she does best shine. They are great individual artist. but I didn't buy my ticket to listen to them. she save the concert with that one song.
Ellis, you're wonderful, and shouldn't have to deal with nastiness. The fact that you read comments speaks volumes about your caring about your audience. I've seen the following possibility raised recently elsewhere - that some particularly rude members of other fanbases have been making comments in Angelina reactions, pretending to be angels but acting most un-angel-like. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is the case, and actually think it more likely than actual angels acting so badly.

Ellis, IMO, first and foremost the producers of this concert should have asked the Norwegian band that accompanied Angelina in her July, 2022 concert. They have worked with Angelina several times and they understand how to accompany her.
This band was clearly a wrong fit for Angelina.
I believe the family hired this band and paid them.
I enjoy your work but come on Ellis don't complain so much it did sometimes sound like a reaction to the horn player everybody that points that out is not a hater.
For me the saxplayer dont add anything ... compte with AJ voice, not adding somtething ...
Please don`t ever try to react to the recording of I Have Nothing from this show. Tone-deaf people have circulated it and the recording is so bad that it makes her sound horrible. If you stumble upon it someday, it's okay to watch alone bu please, pleeeeeeeeease don't react to it.
Were you there? i was, an i want to tell you , the band was terrible. They dround her out on half the songs. The only songs that were good was when the band shut up. Thats this song is so beautiful , the band didn't mess it up,
And the band was terrible I'm sure her next concert she will correct that.
