Wayfair currently has this unit on sale and In my opinion it is worth the buy. only $199.00 get it while you can before it goes back on for regular price at over 500.00
Quick tip: Run a bead of silicone around the hole behind the shower in a triangle formation. Any water that may run down the back wall will run down and around the silicone! Cheers.
Installed this model in one side (MY side) of a large 5' x 6' his and hers shower that I built as a pandemic project, having ripped out a huge tub that we never used. Love it. I regularly inspect the hole that the hoses pass thru via an access panel. No water or mold. Only problem I have had is too much flow! Without the flow restrictor, the body sprays shoot all the way to the other wall! I found that the proper wall height mounting for me is about eye level with the temperature display. Anyway, so far, so good. At least a couple of years now.
When I had one of those installed, they just installed 2 threaded fittings out of the wall at the top of the panel. Don't have to worrie about water getting in the wall through a hole that way. Then just extend the hoses down the wall behind the panel.
I bought these same exact units from Amazon for about $280 a piece. One unit arrived a little smashed up at the top but I took pliers to bend it back... good enough and both units work great after installation! This video was invaluable for gaining the confidence to install them myself. I did have to hire a plumber to install new shut-off valves. Easy peasy!!
You paid way way to much. I've installed at least 20 of these and usually pay between $115 and $140 depending on the model. After installing a bunch I like Ello and Allo

Great video. This is EXACTLY what i needed. Im renovating my bathroom and installing a shower tower like this. Great tip on installing the blocking to hold the mounting cleats. I never would have thought of that.
Jeff, your videos are inspirational for DYI'ers like myself. I built a tiled shower with acrylic base and added a Wayfair system, similar but not the waterfall style, and gained the confidence needed. This bathroom reno is a bit of a nightmare as I only have one bathroom, and my wife has physical disabilities, hence the need for a walk in shower. Great work, keep them coming!
Great video, very helpful! I found when installing grab bars in my Mom's shower, that drill bit you used to drill the holes in the tile was much more functional going at a lower speed. I was shocked the $10 bit bought at Ace was able to drill all the holes I needed to install two grab bars. Thanks for all the great tips!
Always awesome! The sheer markup with“luxury” in construction is massive. So interesting to see how simple and affordable it can be when you do it yourself!

Great video as always Jeff, I would like to add that these shower panel systems are designed for a international market and they follow International Plumbing code guidelines. That being said, the included installation directions are typically not the best resource for installing these systems, for a typical North American install I believe this video is a fantastic resource that should be included from the manufacturers selling shower units in North America.

yet another super useful DIy video! I installed one of these 15 years ago and it was a bit of a pita. I like your pex arrangement and will be doing it your way in my current bathroom reno. Though the Amazon shower panel I got does not have the seal along the side.
Mr. Thorman used a laser to check that the holes for the mounting brackets were vertically aligned. It's also a good idea, after securing the shower tower to the wall, to check that the unit is centered as desired and isn't tilted, because typically each bracket allows considerable lateral play, almost equal to the width of the shower tower.
Thanks for all the tips, it's definitely great getting tips from a pro. I'm looking to install one of these and wanted a few tips. I was looking on Wayfair myself but after watching your video I'm sold and a subscriber. Thank you for the knowledge you shared.

Really easy to understand and usefull. Personally I would add on the top of the square in ceramics for pipes, a tinny plastic water deflector. Just in case if water comes along the wall upper than the shower head. It will protect when cleaning by scrubbing all tiles and heavy rinse....
Another great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I always wondered how these get installed. We have copper plumbing so I dont think it will be as easy.
Looking to put new install on other side of bathroom wall, then later knock out some of it. If I put some kind of shower/enclosure directly on my old lathed plaster, could I then drill Plex sized holes in wall to put PLEX directly down to basement a few feet away, and do the hookup there? I would connect the PLEX that goes down through the wall with 1/2 inch fittings INSIDE the Tower Unit, so NO leak could happen in wall, and would not need to bust up the plaster much... (OLD HOUSE)
Great video- another install well done! I'm only surprised that Jeff even tried to use the screws that came with the unit. Those cheap China screws almost always strip too easily. Best use a better quality screw such as a wood screw to avoid frustration and time-consuming removal.

Jeff, great video! Two comments 1. Is the link to the actual shower tore provided? Only saw your affiliate link to Wayfair, no details on brand or model. 2. Would love a review and demo of unit when you can. Thanks.
We had a shower panel stop working because there was a plastic manifold that cracked. We had to replace it and it's not that easy because the brackets on the walls are different locations and distance. We originally had a 55" shower panel and they are now hard to find so the shorter ones will not reach the lower bracket. How do you suggest moving the wall clips and fill the holes in the tile? Is there any way where it won't look ugly?
I am about to replace a older shower tower.. the wall/sheet rock/tile is already in place, and I have a larger hole to cover and will not be able to screw into a stud. Will it be ok to install to the tile/sheet rock? Thanks
When getting a shower panel (Shower tower) I suggest your viewers do not purchase a recessed panel which mounts between studs within the shower wall and get the usual one that mounts on the shower wall (porcelain/ceramic) as shown in this great video. Although the recessed panels are aesthetically pleasing if there is a leak you do not see it unless you are fortunate and can install an access panel behind it. I had a bad experience with a polished stainless steel top line panel that although selling for about $1,000 used 90 degree bend brass female plumbing connectors for the hot/cold feed lines. These connectors slightly leaked but fortunately I replaced them with straight180 degree connectors purchased at Lowe's/Home Depo. I noticed this leak because I had installed an access panel (the wall behind the tower is a clothing closet) but often it is not possible to install an access panel. How would you compare concrete board / green of waterproofing vs the Schluter Kirdi and drywall? Cost differences and performance/lifespan differences?
Kerdi is the best and the most expensive. next down is cement board and waterproofing and then green board and waterproofing. even a regular drywall with a good seal and waterproofing will last 20 years. Cheers!

Hi Jeff, my shower tower was installed but I have an issue with the normal shower, it’s not flowing properly. Can you please help me!! Thank you 🙏🏽
You the man. I can tell that you love your job!
Cheers dean, I really enjoy renovating old houses. Plus it makes a good living. Cheers!
Any issue with the pex banging the wall when the water is turned on/off since it’s not secured?
Why did you loop the hoses and fittings behind it instead of just going straight into the hoses with fittings? I’m installing and wondering
Cheers!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY thank you! I've watched your kirdi video multiple times.
Cheers Keith!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY on this topic, which is more user/beginner friendly? We just bought our first home and have a large bathroom with a stand up shower and a large spa tub on the same wall. We're wanting to get rid of both and do one massive shower so it's going to be a large area to cover. I'm handy and can work on most anything but I've never done anything remotely similar to this.
