- We did actually eventually get to the Ice Hotel - you can check out our video here!! • I Spent 24 Hours In A ... 🧊☃️
So a couple of months ago on our way to the Ice Hotel, we got stranded for a day in Iceland, which then in turn got us stranded for a day in Stockholm - and while we were there, we decided to taste test all of the international menu items at Swedish McDonald's! Including their McVegan, the Chili Cheese Tops, and the Black Garlic Burger - we were hoping for a Swedish McFlurry, but sadly... their ice cream machine wasn't working either. I guess some things are the same all over the world.
#travel #mcdonalds #sweden #food
motion to bring cheese tops to the states 🙋🏻♀️ also, you can check out our swedish ice hotel video here!! ua-cam.com/video/KfQOsKmyCNY/v-deo.html 🇸🇪🏰🧊
I have these all the time in the uk - quite common here
The cheese tops look a lot like the stuffed mexi fries at Taco Time...
I live in Sweden Lund och Malmö
I always order the cheese tops! There are some good recipes on how to make them at home if you want to. It's surprisingly easy.
I was in Stockholm and Oslo last fall and I would quite literally die for chili cheese tops
i was saying "at the forefront of food technology" not just "mumbling". that said, i don't know why i said that
Saf*** replying "sure" 😅 sent me
LAUGHED SO MUCH AT THAT XD
Love that
Omg check mark
@@Nataliaextrawdym it’s not that special. Most big creators have it
Apparently the fact that I can reliably get a McFlurry in my local Mcdonald is something I should rejoice
I lived in the South of Sweden for most of my life and never once was the ice cream machine broken. I was so shocked to find out that it's common for it to not be functioning.
I swear I live in the only town in the US where the icecream machine always works. I'm certain that's because of one employee who's not a teen and has worked there for like decades, she's awesome and I'm certain she goes the extra mile and actually cleans that thing every night instead of just calling it broken.
I live in Canada (and all over it too) and I've never been to a McDonald's that hasn't had an operational ice cream machine. Idk maybe I've just been lucky my whole life but it's never seemed to be an issue...
@@oliviaocasain9980 I live in Alberta and have NEVER experienced a broken ice cream machine at McDonald’s. I’ve only been to McDonald’s in alberta and BC but everytime I’ve wanted a McFlurry I’ve gotten one.
@@kaiaswrld Yep same... Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia... not a broken machine in sight. I honestly thought it was some inside joke Americans had running and it wasn't actually true.
If I’m ever in Sweden I must go to McDonald’s to bring home a Mcbook
I doubt you'll be able to read it
We have them in Australia as well!
I can try I live in Sweden
Please do. I want to know how thick the book would be and what the stories are.🥺🥺🥺
Macbook im dying 😂😂😂
I’ll always remember leaving a Swedish club in the midnight sun and seeing all of the very well dressed beautiful tall Swedes drunk off their asses at McDonald’s 😂
Very common for people to cure their drunk nights with a bunch of food. Dunno why.
It must've been in your fantasy! We Swedes are anything but well-dressed at the end of the first pint. Also for being European and Nordic, we're of average height (Men 179cm and women 164cm). You should perhaps visit the Baltic as well as the Balkan countries if you think we're tall!
@@e.b.4379 No, men 180/181, women 165/166. And disagree about the not well dressed part. We look disheveled but still well dressed. We don't throw our clothes off after one drink.
My confusion as I realized that chili cheese tops aren't a thing in the US 🤯🤯 My husband recommend eating them with the garlic dip, next time you have the chance. We have them in Denmark as well, and I'm pretty sure I've seen them in Norway 😅
Can confirm: we have them in Norway also! One of my favs for sure
They're also available in Finland!
Confirm their in Norway
They were also in the uk for a short while and they were amazing!😃🎉
@@ottilieipad9871me too i had it too but i thought it was called chilli cheese bites lol
Black garlic is fermented and it's very sweet with not a strong garlic taste. It's really good
Love how McDonald's is better literally everywhere else other than America
american mcdonalds iconic. people can hate all they want but without America, other countries literally wouldn't even HAVE a mdonalds in the first place. America started it all. other countries should be thanking America.
@@Ella-gb7no Ma'am, this is a Wendy's
@@Tensen01 okay this made me laugh 😃
@@Tensen01 Sir, Wendys was started in America too.
@@user-pt6nk1cv4z okay this made me realize how much of the worlds fast food chains come from America. idk yall, ppl always like to brag how much better fast food places are in other countries without realizing those products wouldn't even exist without America.
I personally Think it is more important to try the swedish burger chain called MAX. This chain is native to sweden and in my opinion as good if not better than McDonalds. 😋
Seems like there's a lot of swedish pride around MAX lol. When I visited my bf we went to one very late on the weekend and there were a lot more people there than I expected, so he explained that it's all the people going to eat after partying. I miss your guys' chili cheese, even though it wasn't spicy enough for me haha.
They r not interested in Max. They are comparing mc donalds around the world.
@@nedat75 that dosen’t mean I can’t mention that a native chain exists. 🤷🏼♀️ 😂 It’s fair to be comparing McDonalds around the world, cause every country is slightly different, but I Can still mention MAX. This was not mean to be some kind of “Ehm actually!” Comment, just a “I recomend This as Well, for when you and everyone else is in Sweden.” comment.
U can get books in mcdonalds??? America could never xD
I wonder what they are
I ask for a book every time, still only get their trashy toys.
Happy meal's plastic toys are now banned in France too. The new ones are recycled carboard-like toys, cards and books.
Children's stories :) They are pretty thin, but I think I would have liked them as a kid.
here in Canada we have books too! they usually have classics like Franklyn, Pete the cat, Paddington ect it's kinda nice considering how low quality and boring their toys have gotten over the years
In Germany too - a few years back it started as a promotion for some charity thing that you could get one book.
Meanwhile you can get books everytime and they are different every few weeks.
Shortened children books for example.
Or one adventure out of many from a character like i.e. Pippi Langstrumpf.
Often around one euro of the earnings, when the book is chosen, goes to some charity.
The chili-cheese nugs are magical. They use the same cheese as Noble Roman's gives with breadsticks. It's literally the most American tasting thing we have in Europe. Any time I feel homesick, a smile is one Maccas run away
i am literally begging american mcdonald's to release any sort of vegan entree
or just make their fries vegan for once
We have some veggie nuggets in central Europe, but they kind of suck
We have a section for ‘salad’ in the system but there is literally nothing there lmao
@@sarahstambler3005Over here they are. Why wouldn't they be?
@@Lillith. In the US, they use natural beef flavor on the fries.
find a MAX next time you visit! Better Swedish fast food burgers! Great vegan options too!
Never bro McDonald’s for the win
@@hanaqa nope MAX is 10x better
@@opaleleonora neverrrrr
@@hanaqa try it
@@opaleleonora I already have I literally live in Sweden
Honestly love how well you make these shorts loop
The chilli cheese tops look delicious fr!
It is, go to hangover snack food! I haven't eaten at a Macdonald's (called Donken here) since ca 2016 (food poisoning). Sweden has its own fast food burger chain called Max that supposedly has better quality but that's debatable. If you're ever in Sweden there are way better options for burger chains like Brödernas, Bastard Burgers (and Tugg if you're in Malmö/Skåne)
@@caesar98 thanks for recommendations! If I ever travel to Sweden I’ll give it a go
@@caesar98we have Tugg in Gothenburg too and to add to the list of chains, Dine.
Imma let you in on a secret, the ice cream machine works in Australia, don’t think I’ve seen a broken one yet and I’ve lived here all my life
The buns are so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing omg what are we doing in Canada
and they give u cancer
@@nadanope absolutely haha ate one tonight 🤣
I live in sweden, there i live the ice cream machine like almost always works. ✨❤️
Those jalapeno cheese balls are criminally good, got them in a Saudi Arabian Burger King lmao.
In the Philippines, the ice cream machine almost always works. it's just the mcfreeze/slushy maxhine one sometimes doesn't work.
That loop was joy
Aww, you should have tried MAX. They are way better!😊
MAX is love, but soo expensive lmao
I would have loved if they had gone to Max instead, the real Swedish McDonald's
Thank you so much for this review 😅😅😅 love your sense of houmor when it comes to food and association different Mac items - "tasting like nothing" 😂😂😂
If you back in Sweden ever Max burgers is great fast food
I'm in Finland and I always get the chili cheese tops and use the cheese inside as a dip for my fries. It's real good.
Aw as a reader, a book is a fun idea. I wish the US McDonald’s had more veggie options
We get the books for my daughter, since the quality of toys are always so low quality. They're short children's stories, so a great way to encourage young readers!
my parents are Swedish but I live in the USA with them and my brother, so I only go to sweden when it's summer break, so I appreciate this video
Max Burger is better for next time.
You guys should have gone to Max if your were going to try out Swedish fast food...
Y’all should’ve tried Max instead, while it isn’t as good as it used to be it’s still MILES better than McDonald’s
I adore how they offer a book as an option, cute:) can’t wait to visit Sweden
@LyraOswaldGo for it
when in sweden you should go to max burger, wayyyyy better!!!
I second that :)
@No, I wont give you free robux. Oh that's sad, only had good experiences. Lived in CPH for a while and also went there.
I live in Sweden so this is so much fun too watch i think you should post more in Sweden!!!❤
In Sweden you really have to go to MAX! Best fast food of my life!
Get the cheese sauce on the side with cheese fries. Always.
Woah that’s the Mcdonald’s at Regeringsgatan. That’s the one i usually go to during my lunch break 😅
The swiss bk has so many veggie options that I've never seen before. And the one i troed was pretty good!
I find it so funny that you call a beef burger a burger, but a chicken burger a sandwich, and they’re exactly the same burger buns. 😂
probably because beef is made from hamburger, therefore when we say a burger, we mean beef... so calling a chicken sandwich a "burger" just doesn't fit, lol
Because Hamburgers are made with beef, there's no such thing as a 'beef Burger' because a Burger IS Beef. The bread is actually immaterial since they began not even being served on bread at all, let alone buns(And many places still serve on bread other than buns). It's a Chicken Sandwich.
I think a burger requires a patty made of ground *ingredient*. A slab of *ingredient* makes it a sandwich instead.
I love these videos, here in South Africa we have a simple mcveggie, spicy jalapeño chicken sandwich/burger and cheesy jalapeño fries, the chilli cheese burger is also on our menu and you get to choose between a toy and a book if you get a happy meal! My little brother has chosen the book about twice despite us begging him to choose a book all the time, he maintains really good grades so we kind of let it slide the rest of the times we don’t beg him to please get the book instead. 😅
You don't have chili cheese tops in the States? You poor souls
We do. They are sold in gas station delis as "munchers".
@@christawarrington3795 sounds gross but atleast you have them I guess lol
As a swidish guy. I love fast food in my country
why do they look so perfect omg (also the fact that they have BOOKS???)
The Amsterdam veggie chicken sandwich at McDonald's IS OUT OF THIS WORLD
I’m so jealous they have a vegan option 😭
Wait you guys don't have that in the states?? I'm making an assumption here, sorry 'bout that, Im just a confused Swede?????
Im suprised the US doesn't, we have it here in the UK
For real. Like, the fries aren’t even vegan so there isn’t a single thing a vegan can get at McDonalds in the US.
@@LoveSasukeKai no we don’t 😭😭 only vegan burger we have is the impossible whopper at Burger King.
@@Tiredgothbitch490 honestly it’s so irritating , the stupidest part is that they’re losing money by not having options for vegans and vegetarians.
those chilli cheese bits are heavenly when ur winding down after a night on the lash
Can confirm the McDonald's ice cream machine doesn't work in South Africa either 😅
Those chilli cheese thingies look exactly like the ones we get at Burger King, and they are amazing
Btw the ice cream machine works here in sweden
And btw the ice cream from Swedish McDonald’s is fire
I’m from Sweden and I was just at McDonald’s and they have squishmallows here now! The ice cream machine can work sometimes!
McDonald’s is meh, Burger King in Germany slays though! They offer every beef burger (like the Whopper, cheeseburger etc.) as a vegan or vegetarian version, depending on if you choose cheese, and some of the chicken burgers and the chicken nuggets are available in vegan too and I love them. You can also mix your own sodas like cherry Fanta, peach Sprite etc. in some German BK stores.👌🏻☺️
In the US there are lots of soda machines that allow that called "freestyle" but there definitely aren't many vegan options. They have the "impossible whopper" at US BK, which is their normal whopper with an Impossible patty. I am so curious what is in the German vegan versions.
@@lindsayf9225They use products from a brand called The Vegetarian Butcher which are mainly soy and wheat based. I have tried a couple of their vegan chicken and beef burgers and they taste exactly like the meat burgers... Almost the whole menu at BK is available in vegan/vegetarian now.
the chilli cheese tops are in mcdonalds here in the uk sometimes too! they’re also a permanent feature on the burger king menu but they’re called chilli cheese bites - you can get a box of 20!!!!
In Germany, compared to the US, everything is much less salty and you basically never order at the counter.
in canada we also have the book option for happy meals!
Try the Swedish "Max"
11/10 by me
Edit: Maybe 110/10
The option of toy or book is a thing in UK/IRL Maccies as well, we also have the McPlant, double McPlant and occasionally chilli cheese bites!
What do vegans eat at McDonald’s in the US. Fries?
US McDonalds fries contain beef so they can’t even. Truly sad
I love it how when it goes to the beginning it finish her senses the last second of the short
No Mc Value Meal. $1 double cheese?
Chili cheese tops are amazing. I almost always get them when going to McDonalds. Where I am from it is really popular ordering a cheeseburger and chili cheese tops and then adding the tops to the burger. For a short amount of time McDonalds also sold a cheeseburger with the tops in it because of the popularity of the combo.
You should have gone to max, it's way better and that is comming from a swed.
I don't know about McDonald's chili cheese tops, because I haven't been there in a decade and a half, but you guys don't have chili cheese tops in the US? Those are so good. I'd take those as a movie snack whenever possible.
Hey in like 2 years you should come down for prom as friends with me lol
Chili cheese tops are is actually from denmark, but Can be bought in Scandinavia. So it’s not locked in Sweden
We have them in Germany too but call them "nuggets"
Boycott MacDonald's ❌🍉❌🍉❌
they have those same jalopeno cheesy bites in canada burger king its so good i completely agree
🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
🤮
jalapeno cheese balls are my secret obsession
Free Palestine
The chili cheese tops give me life, they're so good. And once I got an extra piece!
Boycott
I can't believe no one has said this: you have STOCKHOLM SYNDROME !!!
The chilli cheese tops look just like the chilli cheese bites that we have here in burguer king.... that's wild, wish mcd's here copied it too 😅
i love when we get the chilli cheese tops (their bites where i live) but their normally only a limited time thing a couple months at a time.
Chilli cheese bites are magical.
Are we just gonna ignore how PERFECT THAT BUN on the jalapeño chicken sandwich was?!
I’m Swedish and I love seeing people visit! gilla om ni orkar läsa detta!
I don't always have the resources to travel the world, but I always take note of foods that I'd like to try and could gairly replicate on my own time. This McVegan... that's Ketchup, Vegan burger obviously, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickled Onions, and then a sesame bun... cause I love added texture. Even if it doesn't have it normally.
.
Fun fact: in Northern Ireland the icecream Maschine always works.
we need those chilli cheese things back in england 😢 i would get a share box FOR MYSELF and that’s all i’d get
Here in the uk you can have a book or toy aswell as chilli cheese bites (the chilli cheese tots) they are one of my fave things I always get them but they do alternate between them mozzarella dippers and Halloumi fries (long pieces of halloumi) 🫶🏻
If you’re in Sweden, you should try Max! It’s another burger joint similar to McDonald’s, but swedish style!
as someone who is swedish i did not expect yall to be there HELPPP
Having the option of a book is so cool my child self would’ve loved that
Went there for June 2022, McDonalds and MAX Burger were awesome every time
Similar experience as at a Hawaiian McDonald’s. Fries are cooked in Beef Tallow, and they have Taro root pies.
lmao he said..." now thats a busy cross section" loo hahahahah
I don't know if it's just my good luck, but in mexico the ice cream machines usually work when I asked them for one. Unless they under maintenace, which should be done each week.
i thought i was the only one that would try mcdc whenever i traveled. Samosas in London was a surprise
Everything is so clean and well presented
Love the idea of select books for the kids in the happy meal ! , definitive they should be included in other countries.
YOU HAVE TO TRY MAX it is like the Swedish In n Out
This is my first video I've seen of yours, and somehow your voice is really soothing? I don't know what it is
“Sure!” 😂😂 idk why that was so funny to me 😂
You can tell a lot about a country's intellect if a basic Mcdonald is giving u an option to get a book ❤ Greetings frm Pakistan 😊
If you ever go to italian mcdonald’s get the little pizza bites. they were like tiny calzones it was amazing
Chilli cheese tops are also available in Denmark
There is also this place called: Max, And I can say that somethings are better there and some things are better at The McDonalds in sweden. (im swedish btw)
Chilli cheese bites (or tops?) are ELITE
Yeah Chilli cheese tops will do that too yab😩💕
Your editing is top tier 👌🏽 😂❤
The books from french macdonalds are quite good, the first series of book was written by a famous french writer (eric emmanuel schmitt, author of Oscar and the lady in pink) and the second focus on stories in the most famous places of France. My son love them and they are truly well written. He prefers that than the toy since it's cardboard toys it doesn't last long. (plastic toys are banned)
