    Found this to be really helpful. When I go heavy, my butt slightly pops and puts me in a bad starting position. My bar path is good and I can always finish in a good position where I'm bringing the hips forward and not essentially doing an RDL. This video definitely answered a lot of questions I had about preventing the little butt pop up though!

    Thanks a lot..I have same problem. When I go for heavy weights hip shoots up,
    What is the best cue in mind when lifting? press the floor or just stand up?

    Thank you! I know there are tons of tips about bench pressing that Jake gives here and there, but it would be lovely if you could find someone whose bench isn't so great and help them fix their mistakes, just like in this video!

    The shin angle tip was very helpful for me. I always have a lot of forward knee travel in conventional because I set-up over my mid foot, yet for sumo my shin is more vertical and right next to the bar. Will definitely try setting further towards my shin.

    Youre forgetting the #1 most important cue for the deadlift, stabilize your feet by creating even pressure from the base of the big toe, base of the little toe and heel. This is why people have such a hard time figuring out how to deadlift properly

    Really interesting vid, made me think i might be better to give up on deadlift tho..
    I effectively have no muscle pulling in my scapula (muscle wasting disease), so very little control, i can lift like 130kg shoulders forward, but maybe like 15kg max shoulders back.. pulling shoulders back is effectively impossible and not fixable
    My form because of it makes me wonder if i should keep bothering.. i just rep out 100kg with average/poor form at the moment, but its light enough it doesnt screw my back or anything

      You could always stick with trap bar deadlifts. It's easier to get your upper back set up with those.

    Really enjoyed your explanation of the form and set up for the deadlift. My questions are hand placement. I see alot of people using overhand placement. I noticed you using the mixed hand placement. One over one under. Which one should someone use? If some uses mixed position, should they alternate which is over?

    • @FitnessCulture
      @FitnessCulture  4 роки тому

      It really depends on preference. If you aren't using straps then mixed grip is the way to go unless you like to hook grip.
