💜 You Indie! My dad passed march 6 2022, I've been struggling since. Watching you skate helps me to find my joy again & even though it will always be sad.I know life is what I make it,which is why im going to try to get me a pair of roller skates 🌻
Wrist pads are great too! Practicing skating (and jumping) on one foot has saved me a bunch of times, when one foot hits a rock the other just takes over and carries on. And it's also fine (especially for beginners) to decide that a particular place is too rough for one's current skill level and choose not to skate there
Try well padded crash gloves, being able to palm the ground with your hands is an added bonus for street skating, especially high speed turns on slopes...
Yep, street skating involves rocks, itty bitty stones and pebbles of all shapes, from smooth ones to jagged ones. You can either have fat higher, soft, large diameter wheels, remove or reduce the size of your stops and use a rear brake, in the end if you hit big gnarly rocks sometimes they just scrape along under your truck, if you are going fast this is normally the case but slowly can jam the skate meaning you have to very quickly transfer all your weight to the non offending or not rock-compromised skate and lift the one being slowed. I never used knee pads and had crash gloves and skated with crazy inliners sometimes back in the 90s. A lot of the time stones flick away if you're going fast or speed skating, when hitting extremely uneven surfaces picking both feet up in a stepping or jogging action can work, if you're going faster than you can run this doesn't work so well sometimes and you have to slow down or semi-crouch like preparing to jump so the dragging effect can be compensated for by your lower centre of gravity and give in the knees/legs. Generally at high speed and on downhills you put most of your weight on one foot or the other then transfer if there is problems on the other one, crouching low was my thing on uneven surfaces or shingle covered concrete because I could ride on my palms with one or both of the padded part of my crash gloves if I needed to.
I love your tips and how you make rhymes to help yourself remember! So good when you’re in the moment; it makes it second nature and automatic. Excellent! Thank you!
Now I know how to deal with the rocks swept onto a trail by wind and/or rain. Perfect dry sunny day, but the trail was littered like a “mine field” (perfect description) after last week’s storms. I always stagger outdoors, but I switched to the street because it was so bad. I’ll go back and own those rocks. Happy feet and rocking horse, thanks Indy! 😘
Skating is such a peaceful hobby! Thank you all for the amazing tips you provide! Though I’m new to this, crashed and fell multiple times, and look like a clumsy penguin when I’m skating... I LOVE IT! Safe journeys Jamma! Maybe our journeys will cross one day ✨
Getting my first outdoor roller skates soon (been doing indoor artistic/free skating for 7 yrs), and am currently watching all of your videos about how to do outdoor skating! Looks like so much fun, can’t wait to hit the streets.
Almost every curve in my city are like that, i fell very hard when i try to skate over them. But seeing someone so experienced like Amy have a hard time makes me feel more confident about my learning process.
Thanks Indy these are fantastic tips! 🌸🌸 I will think Street Feet on that awful rough asphalt that seems to appear out of nowhere some days! Can I please ask, your knee gaskets? Where are these from and…. If you do fall, are they actually helpful in a basic protective way? I’m really good with wearing my safety gear but just some days I’m not wanting a full on knee pad strapped on so was wondering for a nice long skate on a flat path or out on a flat smooth court, will they do the trick, if an unexpected light fall happened?
You're such a star. 💗 Watching you skate inspires me to still pursue my dream to be a great skater like you. 🥺 It's my dream since I was 6 yrs old and now I'm 23 but still haven't experienced roller skating. Only if I'm rich I could buy one. 😫
I am learning to skate outside and the tiny rocks are terrifying, especially this one patch that I have busted my butt on. I was holding my breath the whole time she went over those scary rock patches..😰😰 this video is super helpful to me and I can't wait to give it a go tonight after work!
CAN YOU TRY OUT THE PIXIE PARADISE ROLLER SKATES??? They're on Dollskill OR Karafara I want to order them but theres NO reviews or anything on them and they sound good but im not sure kinda sketch.
Pls indy🙏 is it possible to 6 step breakdance on roller skates? or is it just blatant ankle suicide? im not fit enough to try or i would😭(you have to lift, swing, and plant your skates relatively fast and I can't even shoot the duck)
Indy has some basics videos on her channel, if you scroll back to earlier videos. Or if you're just starting out, I'd highly recommend the Dirty School of Skate channel. She really breaks down the basics for beginners!
I'm an extreme beginner. I've just started to skate outdoors. But I'm struggling with getting the courage to skate on concrete. I'm currently skating on a smoother concrete than what's typically available in larger spaces. But it's a very narrow space and quite limiting. I need to branch out and start skating on regular concrete, but as soon as I start to roll and my skate catches on an uneven spot, I panic and stop. I have 78a wheels, and all the protective gear including padded pants! But I'm so afraid of falling. What's the best way to start skating on rougher concrete when you're just starting to graduate from bubbles, to lifting your feet? HELP! 😫
Would not that be just about your core strength? Or maybe your solar plexus is out. Which can be about lack of power which made you gain weight for protection..
If you just search up roller skates shop or just roller skates you can most likely find some websites that sell them or some stores in your area that also sell them :)

Rocks are BS. Someone should do something about them.
In this litigious world someone can get sued for lack of upkeep.
Cancel rocks 2021
Sometimes I sk8 around the block with an XL broom and sweep em off the sidewalk lol.

Hi
Indy, what is that on your trucks? Is it for tricks? I've never seen that before and I'm curious 🤨
Hi Indy! Can you please throw up a link to the knee pads you use?
I'm going to have my skates tomorrow and can you put a tutorial how to skate its my first time please do a tutorial how to skate❤

West Texas Indy?
What kind of skates are you wearing right now?
Where is this beautiful place with the plateau in the background? I dream of skating in such a lovely place.
❤❤❤
Hi Indy!
I loves this vid, I'm quite scared when I see cracks and rocky floor.
I hate rocks and concrete that has ripples... thanks a lot!
I have 80A 65mm.
I gained weight (like 35 kilos) and I've been skating since I'm 6 y/o. I just stopped the year before my wedding (I was on 75 kilos at that time) and then at the first 2 years married I ballooned to 96 kilos.
I loss some weight, ballooned back so now I'm on 92 (thanks antipsychotics for my damn weight gain).
Even when I was on 75-ish (10 kilos above my maximum BMI) I had my equilibrium and gravity center in my body. Now that I'm trying skating again, I can't find my gravity center and my balance is fu©ked up.
How can I find my gravity center back? could you talk about this?
Would not that be just about your core strength? Or maybe your solar plexus is out. Which can be about lack of power which made you gain weight for protection..
Can confirm that fast feet work 😛
Can u skate with a broom in front of you?
I'm a new skater and I love this video thank you so much for it. But I swear 4 minutes and 40 seconds and messes with my anxiety😂
Where do you buy rollerskates if you can answer that I don’t know if you can though?
If you just search up roller skates shop or just roller skates you can most likely find some websites that sell them or some stores in your area that also sell them :)
can you do a video on how to find good spots to skate? (If u haven’t already lol)
Can you try skateboarding? It's really funnn
i miss ya indy
What roller skates u have on?
Does anyone know which kneepads she`s using?
👏👏👏💪💪💪
I like her socks
Love you Indy ( You Are Beautiful ) Charlie.
Listen, I got a rock trip last week and bruised off my knee so bad :(
I recommend wrist guards as well. Breaking the hand isn’t that funny. Thanks for your video, hints and winks.
I was at a park roller skating being peaceful then I tripped over an almond-
Rocks are not that big of a problem for rollerskaters as they are for inline skaters.
Indy Can you see the email I sent you about business cooperation, wait for your reply
Rocks suck.
Bring back Pigeon!
