    As an inline skater, I use a karabiner to hold my skates together (using the back loops) to carry them more easily, then while I'm skating I can put my keys on my karabiner and onto my belt loop.

    • @l.a.k
      @l.a.k 3 роки тому +2

      Most roller skates don’t have a loop, sadly :/

      True, but roller skates you can just tie together. That's how I carry mine, tie them and then sling them over my shoulder or through one of my backpack's straps if I have it with me.

    Indy, I love your videos! Would you possibly consider doing a video about the different skate plates you should consider for different type of skating? For example the difference between a park, derby, speed, and artictic set ups. I have so much trouble trying to find solid advice for this. Thank you.

    Great to learn about flipping the nut if a wheel falls off! My problem was always losing the toe stop on one skate, but not the other, even after they were tightened down. Solved that one with a little LocTite applied to the toe stop bolt. For skates with tabs on the back (quad or inline) I use a nylon dog collar to keep them together. I also like cargo pants for their extra pockets and carrying capacity.

  • @jauhaune
    @jauhaune 3 роки тому +4

    Hack number 10 is great!
    But sometimes it is not the axel thats the problem. From a mechanical standpoint you're not supposed to use a lockingnut several times because the plastic that is locking the nut will wear off.
    So you should change the nut occasionally espescially if you are changing the wheels often.

  • @FrancisMaxino

    Quick ways of getting your bearings to spin forever, spray WD40 or CRC into them while spinning and wipe off the excess that comes out, sort of cleans out grit too, really quick way of getting them lubed if you do a lot of street skating where lots more dust and crap get into them.
    .

    • @carriebartkowiak

      Don't EVER put WD-40 into your bearings! WD-40 is not a lubricant, it's a water displacer. Your wheels might spin well for the first few minutes, then the WD-40 is going to heat up, turn gummy, and ruin your bearings.

    side not as well. instead of flipping the nut put some clear fingernail polish on the bolt part. this will act like temporary locktight. itll hold it on very well yet you can still bust it loose when need be. granted i say that to say this. im not a roller skater. im an inline skater so im not as familiar with skates. but the mentioned trick ive used else where and its worked amazing each time.

    Can you use the hair dryer trick on Lolly skates? I have a hard plastic piece giving me problems.

    I loved listening to ABBA's "Dancing Queen" since the song came out. I started skating at 12 1/2. Especially in my teens.

    as for #10 tip, drop of locktight will fix that plus there will be more threading gripping on your axle/

      Do both! I just got some quads, and am loving learning new things. Make sure you get ones with good wheels and bearings or be prepared to swap them out - felt like I was skating through mud compared to my smooth blades... Hard indoor wheels change things entirely - so smooth, and very forgiving when you’re doing turns.
