I showed my son this video & pointed at my hanging cebu & told him that plant would eventually become like this one if I let it climb. His mind was blown. 😂
I do that with my plants to my hubby, pause Jan’s vid and now I’ve pointed them all out when we were in Hawaii too, he was shocked 😂❤
Haha love that!!! 😅
My 30 year old boyfriend doesn't even believe me.
Can’t wait to see Tim’s garden with all your big babies!!
OMGoodness! I can't believe that was a cebu blue! Beautiful! What I would give to borrow your green thumb for just 6 months!!! Or, to be your neighbor! I love your videos so much! Love your accent! I just love all of you SydneyPlantGuy! You're the best!!
Thank you 🥰🥰
I cannot wait for my babies to get this big!! 😍 Beautiful!!
"Here comes the sun" ☀️ SPG, best part of waking up ( although insomnia abnormally early here)😻
Hehe thank you :)
Thank you for the chop stick trick. You are the best, Jan.
The small things can make the difference :)
I’ve literally never seen a Cebu Blue this MASSIVE!!!! Unbelievable Jan! You are a master gardener! Love all your videos so much.
Thank you :)
You've inspired me to put my Cebu blue on a moss pole. 😃
Happy growing :)
Jan, can you try some bromeliads and some orchids and/or some blooming tropical plants for pops of color in your garden? I want to see like a giant hanging heliconia flower or something like it, in your garden. Lipstick palms? Maybe teacup or lady slipper orchids for the greenhouse? 🌴You are really in a tropical climate; the growth over summer was unbelievable! 🦜
I have a bunch of heliconias :) they just haven’t bloomed for me yet :)
@@sydneyplantguy Shake ‘em! 😉
LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos!! ❤️ thank you for doing what you do! I’ve learned so much from you! I’m so glad you showed the whole process. Today I made my very FIRST moss pole for one of my marble queen pothos. I was wondering how to chop and prop when it’s time. Then BAM the perfect video pops up! 😊
Good timing :) thank you!!!
You grow the most beautiful plants I've ever seen grown indoors.
Thanks:)
🤯 a cebu blue?!?! WOWZA! Stunning! Can’t wait to see Timmy’s garden!
Video coming up soon :)
Congrats on your huge Cebu blue tree Jan! Can’t believe those humongous leaves only grew since you moved; well done SPG!
Thank you :)
I love how you explain things so simply. Your plants are amazing 😊
Thank you :)
Wow! What a gorgeous specimen! Our 'Cebu Blue ' was doing so well then we realized (too late), that it had been stem rotting, we tried to save it, but it was mush.😢
We now have Itty bitty starts of new ones to start over.
Might be a blessing in disguise :) start if fresh in a pole 🙂
@@sydneyplantguy yes, we have. I wish we could send photos through here, but anyhow, just imagine maybe dime sized leaves on two nodes each, with a pole that is the size of a very stout green bean.
Im seeing the reason for plastic back moss pole. Outdoors, they give extra protection from the elements and slow the drying out process. Im going to switch to the plastic back for outdoors.🎉🎉❤
Yes i think outdoors they’ll make life much easier :)
we need a tim's garden tour, idk if theres already one, but would be nice to see how the original plants are doing at his place!!
Already filmed :) just editing this atm :) bug garden transformation coming up :)
cannot wait!!!@@sydneyplantguy
It was a monster plant! and many more to come 👌
💚🌿🌵🍀💚
It is simply amazing your gift for these beautiful plants. You make such greater possibilities and take the fear away from trying it myself. Love your videos. Thank you so very much!
That’s so nice to hear :) thank you!!
That’s the most *incredible* cebu! Just wowowowow!
Thanks :)
Wow! That’s so cool to see how big it’s grown. Beautiful. I don’t like when all of the bottom leaves turn yellow and just the top leaves are nice. I will usually propagate at that stage. I notice this happens with vining plants more often. Love your courtyard, it’s a tropical paradise. I hope things go well when the fence is replaced though. 🙂
That’s what the chop & extend process is great for :) if the bottom part gets ugly , just chop it off :) thank you!!
I have watched several of you videos now. You make it look so easy. You have been very inspiring. I am trying the moss pole (that I assembled) growing technique and repotted my seedling Phil dubia. I can only wish and hope it will grow as beautiful as your plant. If not, buy another one and try again lol
Love that plant, so lush ❤
My very next plant I need to finally get onto a moss pole!
That's insane Jan!! I look at my tiny cebu blue (granted it's not yet on a moss pole) and it's hard to imagine that it could get that large! Good stuff 👌🏼
Thank you:)
Whoa, I had no idea a Cebu Blue could grow so big 😮🇨🇦
The random here comes the sun 🌞 😂 is the best part of the videov
😅😅
I can't wait for my Cebu Blue to look like this. Maybe i should show it this video and remind it what it needs to look like, lol. Mine just grows up the pole and hasn't changed.
More light
Yes!! This one can handle a decent amount of light :)
Hello ! I would love to know what fertilizer do you use for your plants .
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching :)

Thank you:)
Wow I love it wish I had it 🐈😻🐈
Thank you:)
Great idea making the moss pole wire completely round then adding the plastic to half of the round. Should give it more stability. Do you add the plastic inside the wire or outside? Tfs
On the inside so I can still use the mesh to connect them to the garden stake etc :)
I would love to put plants on my balcony and grow them almost as large as your plants but my balcony gets full sun during the summer and I don't want my plants to burn, can you recommend any plants that will survive strong sunlight? Also, how do you keep the bugs from living in the soil?
Trees love sun :) or cacti/succulents :) get inspired by plants that naturally grow in full sun in your area :)
@sydneyplantguy key words, "in your area". 🥰
Do you cable tie the pot to the pole/stake? I noticed you were already holding it by the pot and I thought with a fresh pot and no roots + not watered yet that it should pull out, if not cable tied. So I was curious!
No I don't :) it's the chunky aroid mix :)
Amazing plant! Love your videos. Why not remove the bottom leaf when potting the top part of the moss pole? Isn’t there a chance that petiole will rot if if it’s in that pot?
It will rot & then i’ll just plug it out :)
I would think it would add unnecessary stress to the plant to cut it and instead just letting it do what it will do naturally. In the process it will add nutrients to the roots.
OMG! 😮
You’ve changed your top moss pole! Plastic backing? To keep the roots in or because it’s outdoors to keep the moisture up?
To retain more moisture because it’s outdoors :)
@@sydneyplantguy
Where do you get the plastic from?
Can you share few saplings/pups with me ...
Pls help me' I have a problem in my philodendron Florida beauty, the leaf that is shooting is always full varigated leaf and because of that my plant is getting a hard time to grow bigger and a lot leaf, what should I do to grow my plant better?
Not much u can do about that. You can cut the plant & hope the re-shoots show a more healthy amount of variegation
Love your vids! I have a question... I have a (still very small) small BOP (S.reginae) - do they grow more shoots from the bottom, or will I have to buy another one of them or two if I want to have a fuller pot...?
It will grow new shoots by itself eventually :) just depends on how patient u can be :)
Vielen Dank, Jan! Ich hatte gehofft, dass das der Fall ist :) I know my way around cacti & succulents, but this tropical plant malarkey is entirely new territory for me. Dir noch einen schönen Sonntag @@sydneyplantguy
👍🏼
Also - where did you get the plastic for the backing of your moss pole?
They are leftovers from old Grow Vertical Poles :)

And I thought Sean of Onlyplants had a massive cebu.
It’s not a competition 🤭 but I like winning haha :D
I didn't mean it like a competition. I'm just surprised to see them as big
Who is Tim?😅
U must have not watched my moving vlogs 🤭 Tim is my bestie who helps out a lot with my plants :)
@@sydneyplantguy 😂 I didn’t see the move.. I have subscribed to you not very long ago, found you because of looking for information about plants ,I’m new at it…. I have a full corner in my studio already mostly alocasias and one monstera constellation 😉
