    Hi Taim! Our professor said in a lecture, that the Ncl. ambiguus also innrevates the constrictal pharyngeal muscles, the M. uvulae, the M. levator palatini, the M.palatopharyngeus and the M. salpingopharyngeus. Otherwise great video, as always

      Hi! You’re absolutely right that the nucleus ambiguus innervates those muscles muscles, but not through the glossopharyngeal nerve. It innervates those muscles via the vagus nerve (pharyngeal plexus). The glossopharyngeal nerve only innervates the stylopharyngeus muscle from the nucleus ambiguus, and this is its sole motor contribution to the pharynx, helping elevate the pharynx during swallowing (Ref: Singh, I. (2017). Human Neuroanatomy (10th ed.)). If your professor has any additional sources suggesting the glossopharyngeal innervates other muscles via the nucleus ambiguus, I’d love to hear about them! 😊

      @ i think there is no addition of sources needed as your response made clear sense to me! Perhaps I confused the two nerves. You‘re awesome man

    In the beginning I really didn't like your videos because I felt like they are too detailed. But it actually makes it much easier to understand. You just need to watch it more often. Thank you for the work!

    Sir please do vagus nerve also 🙏🙏🙏

  • @МухаммадризоРахмонов-ф8щ

    Bro in our region all the books says the glossopharyngeal nerve has only 1 nucleus and it’s solitary tract. And you’re saying also spinal n of trigeminal nerve.
    Does it really correct?

    • @МухаммадризоРахмонов-ф8щ
      @МухаммадризоРахмонов-ф8щ 2 місяці тому

      Sensory nucleus i mean’t

    • @TaimTalksMed
      @TaimTalksMed  2 місяці тому

      Heya! This actually a common point of confusion because different textbooks and regions emphasize certain aspects of cranial nerve nuclei differently. The solitary nucleus is indeed a primary nucleus for the glossopharyngeal nerve's visceral sensory functions, but the spinal nucleus of the trigeminal nerve is also involved in processing general sensory information. This dual involvement is well-documented in neuroanatomy, for this video specifically you can read the sources I've written in the description😄 If your local textbooks emphasize only the solitary nucleus, it may be because they focus more on the visceral sensory aspect of CN IX and simplify the broader neural anatomy🤔
