    Looks pretty slick! Been in the market for both a switch pro controller and a different/newer wireless option for GameCube (I have a couple of WaveBirds, and they're great but I just find my hands don't like holding OEM GC controllers for long periods of time), glad to hear that there is a solid option to fill both slots.

      It should be a solid option for that for you

    1:01 sold. I've been using the cheap wired GameCube controller on switch. This might fit my big boy hands now.

    1:57 The Share button remains on the controller, but it's located near the USB-C port. It also doubles as the macro setup button when held with the P1 or P2 buttons.

    I have the OG battlerGC and now the BattlerGC Pro. Can confirm this is better than the original in every way. I love the clicky L and R triggers and the clicky d-pad. Did yours not come with a braided cable? Mine did.

    I see removal of the turbo and screenshot buttons as an absolute loss.
    Why don't they have a swappable trigger so you can do direct mouse click or standard trigger like the Vader 4 Pro or the Razer Wolverine V3

    Im still trying to get this fully to work with my Xbox Series X (in dev mode ) with my Brook or Wingman (I have both) and getting it to work with Dolphin. Works great on my Mac but no so much with Xbox Dolphin. Works great everywhere else. I read that this also does Xinput, how did you get that to work?

    • @OmegaXXII
      @OmegaXXII Місяць тому

      That’s such a shame to hear because Xbox Dev Mode was exactly the reason why I wanted to get this controller! Have you tried the Mayflash Magic X adapter or the Brook Wingman XB3 adapter? I once had to edit the controller profile with the Dolphin emulator on PC then place that on the Xbox USB and mess around with the controller settings just to get it to read inputs

    • @ArchadesGames
      @ArchadesGames  Місяць тому

      Hold plus and Minus to change between direct input and Xinput with the USB receiver. For Bluetooth mode hold Home+A to enter Xinput pairing mode.

  • @shreksnow1918
    @shreksnow1918 Місяць тому +2

    That’s interesting. I might pick this up at some point for GameCube emulation, using on a modded Wii, or both (still need to get both of those figured out). Definitely glad to hear this control’s really good.
    Is it possible to connect this to an Xbox in dev mode, or no because Microsoft blocked 3rd party controllers? It’s too bad you can’t use emulators on retail mode, or third party controllers anymore. The last Xbox I got was the Xbox One, and I have a gaming laptop that can run a lot of games really well (highly doubt I’ll buy another Xbox since I can already do most things an Xbox can on my computer). I’m just wish more could be done since it would be great for consumers.
    On an off note, do you know if there’s any chance of the Tribute64 getting a revision that includes gyro aim, or not really? Also, have there been any updates/news with the EZ Flash Parallel?

    • @ArchadesGames
      @ArchadesGames  Місяць тому +1

      Should work fine in Xinput mode with a Brook Adapter. Plus and Minus together will change between direct input and Xinput with the USB receiver. For Bluetooth pairing with home+A.
      I don't think anything will be changed with the Tribute line-up.
      I haven't been paying attention to the EZ Flash Parallel for a while so not sure if anything has been addressed. Might do a revisit soon.

    • @shreksnow1918
      @shreksnow1918 Місяць тому +1

      That’s good news that there is a way to connect third party controllers. Too bad you can’t use emulators in retail mode, and the Series X/S don’t meet the requirements for RPCS3. It would be truly phenomenal if you could load one up with a bunch of PS3 ROMs, and if the normal Xbox controllers had built in gyro (imagine how great that would be. That would make the current Xboxes a much better emulation machine. Hopefully, the wild speculation about the next system being open are actually based in reality). For a while I was thinking about buying a used Series S, paying for dev mode, and gifting it to one of my sisters. But, I think I’ll probably just mod a backwards compatible Wii for one of them.
      That’s too bad that they likely won’t add anything to the Tribute. Maybe, I’ll buy the Brawler64 NSO since it had gyro, and certain N64 emulators support that.
      I’ve heard the people behind EZ Flash Parallel sadly abandoned it. Hopefully, that’s not true and that they’re just being slow with updates. I was looking forward to seeing the ultimate DS flash cart. Fortunately, there’s plenty of others that outmatch it.
      Thanks for answering my questions.

    do the textured grips feel anything at all like the ones from the 8bitdo ultimate? that was my biggest issue with that controller was the textured grips felt awful to hold for me, personally.

      @@ArchadesGames Well it isn't for me. I have large hands that don't grip very well. I even find the Wii's nunchuck too slippery, as it keeps falling out of my grasp with general use. That's why I like controllers with good grip. It's also why I use the Switch with grip addons from Satisfye.
