@@CairnEnjoyerYou say that like we're not tied at the hip. Canadians are just war-criminal yanks, and Brits and Franks have been casually setting eachother on fire every other day for close to a thousand years
If I remember correctly, this mod has a few noob traps. There are a few early game encounters that are either unwinnable or only winnable with copious high explosives. Mind worms are also nasty.
Just use the classic TFTD tactic of running away immediately when you see something scary. In this video I should have ran from that first encounter with Hallucinoids but I wanted to show how brutal early game could be.
To be fair, you could say that about a lot of early TFTD too lol. I don't think I've ever WON the first terror mission on superhuman without everyone chucking as many bombs as possible or just getting really lucky
@@CairnEnjoyer Cant wait for the next episode, thats a cool mod. Also, should you have brought the combat overalls on the ship mission, I thought they give +5 movement speed?
You're pumping these out like a machine awesome work dude. X-Chronicles next? It's the fantasy overhaul I've never played it myself but have hundreds of hours in Files and Piratez so would love to see a video on it, keep up the great vids!
You should always put everyone on training, even when they are in the sub. Trraining beasically works in any kind of downtime, so if the sub is at the base the aquanauts will train but stop training wehen on a mission.
For the ship missions: There is always an enemy at the stairs AND one character behind the boxes at the starting point. This character can be an enemy or a civilian. You were lucky it was a civilian and they did not shoot you in the back.
My dream is that one day we get a game that acts like a combined Terror from the Deep and UFO Defense. So that you have to manage both land and sea (and maybe even the local solar system!). Even better if you combine it with some elements from Chapter Master (the mod game) and have to play nice with various factions to get and maintain your equipment (who also double as your funding).
Have you seen the From the Ashes mod? If that ever gets finished then it has the potential to one of the best OXCE mods, the things the dev has done to the engine is insane he managed to create a faction system similar to XCOM 2 War of the Chosen amongst other really cool features.
They are a cool weapon conceptually, I just wish they were actually useful. Even against human units I’ve seen a single cultist suck up like 3 before dying to a 4th one. And consider each shot and reload is 1 turn worth of TU early game
de sea envelopes me like a mother's wooomb. ahh pip. Ahh, loligo giganticus. With her razer sharp beak that can tear steal as easily as i tear a croisaant. But inside she is a peaceful giant.
Very little probably, halucinoids have a ton of armour and are best dealt with using some sort of explosive since they are so big. To be honest to play optimally I should have just evacuated the instant I saw them, but I wanted to show how difficult the mod could be and how awful the starting weapons are. Another clip I use in the intro against some mutant civilians also using the harpoons ended with everyone dead as well, and these are far weaker unit with like no armour at all, still they suck up several harpoons each.
The real terrifying thing is French world dominance
One can dream, the Angloids have sure done enough damage thus far ruling the world.

@@CairnEnjoyer In the mod, the days of "Je me souviens" are over, now is the time for "J'ai oublié (ce qu'est un angloïde)"
Took me a second to realise you were throwing a dye grenade at the start and not just giving everyone a more merciful death.
You don’t even start the game with access to any grenades

UA-cam reccomended me a gem! I've never heard of this game before but it looks awesome
This is a Mod specifically that expands the classic X-Com sequel, Terror from the Deep
Playing classic xcoms is unhinged. Great games!

14:00 that hallucinoid is more harpoon than jellyfish now
The harpoons are unbelievably shite, even compared to the basic weapons of classic TFtD
This one next on my list after I'm done with Piratez(hopefully in next 3 years or so)
It’s not as big of a leap as Piratez, it’s more like a full expansion of TFTD without straying far from the Lore or basic concepts.

That is X-Files
@@f10nn02 Sounds really cool. I'll check it out
@@CairnEnjoyer Well I was thinking managing space, multiple planets, and all the stuff therein. Tbh though I should read up more on X-files.
Yeah this about is the usual balkan fishing trip.
Not enough people got hit by friendly fire
Most reccommended TFTD mod
Okay so Chris told you to play his mod
There isn’t much variety in dedicated TFTD mods and this is by far the biggest and most well developed.
Yeah World of Terrifying Silence is great. I played it some time ago and it was great.
I see you found the Xcom Files as well. I need to do another playthrough of that one, so much had been added over the years :)
Rank: Fishfood
If only they knew how true that was of the previous crew
seems to me the intent for early mission is to farm shooting exp by firing off your shots then evacing on turn one
Honestly you might be better off just skipping them entirely unless there is some better way to fight with the harpoons I’m not getting
I do like how the sprite of the shitty starting harpoon actually changes when it's unloaded

@@CairnEnjoyer the thing I find bizarre about them is the firing sound, it's the same slurping sound xpiratez uses when someone drinks beer lol
bro this dude just casually blew up a civilian holy shit
Civilians are extra expendable in Terror from the Deep
What they should do is make a combo game of X-Com and X-Com Terror of the Deep with both Land and Sea Bases.
X-Com Files has undersea bases and TFTD content combined with UFO and Apocalypse
00:17 triggers thousands
Was that black hole sun by Soundgarden with the Mario 64 sound font at the beginning of the video? I love Soundgarden they are my favorite band lol
yes, just because I wanted the dire dire docks soundfont and found it funny.
