    Love the set up, same charger I have looks like a v9 f because of having the oil feed, and being fed from the sump... Also have the VF engineering kit 👌 love the fact you took it easy to just have a 1st rip/run to check it all over👍
    Will be excited to see the next rip with a bit more of a push on that accelerator but safety first at the same time 👌

    Question;
    I have a nicely sorted mk3 VR6. Would you prefer supercharger vs turbo?
    Build cost difference? (Low boost)
    Thank you

    This video pretty much somes up what I want to do because I've been looking into purchasing a 1987 vw rabbit it's pretty mint but it's a rag top instead of a hard top

    • @MysteryGarage
      @MysteryGarage  3 роки тому

      It runs very well actually! But before I go hard on it, I want to get some dyno time, or atleast an air/fuel ratio gauge to be sure I’m not sending it lean! Cheers!!

    Absolutely enjoyed this - subbed immediately. Just wondering if you have any advice for someone with NO experience as a mechanic, but a great love for all things Mk1. Should I look for a college course? Or would you recommend buying a rabbit and figuring things out as I go?? Any tips appreciated-thanks!!

    • @MysteryGarage
      @MysteryGarage  3 роки тому +1

      I would recommend the latter for sure, go out buy a car and start playing! That’s the way I learned. There so much access to easy information these days, forums, websites, social media’s, people out there would be happy to help with questions etc every step along the way, the car community is great that way! So go find that car, and good luck with your build!! Cheers

      Hahaha ya the off center part still throws me off sometimes, weird getting used to. Nah dents old, actually came with the car when I bought it, never tried to fix it, thought it gave it some character. Now paired with the door dent, it just looks terrible hahaha

    • @MysteryGarage

      Oh don’t be discouraged, it’s easier than you think! Then again keeping it diesel isn’t a bad form these days either! The power from those engines can be built up to seriously impress!! Appreciate the watch and thanks so much for the support! Cheers

      Ummm 2 reasons actually, this was more of a "first time out" soft cruise kinda thing, once I'm happy with the work done and tested it a few times ill be harder on it. But as in this day specifically, i did tromp on it a bit harder but my video gear did a terrible job of "in car footage" so that all got cut out on the editing floor, too blurry and crappy to use. Some examples can actually be seen in the video as i left some of it in!! But I've pledged to improve the incar stuff on the channel since then and working on acquiring far better gear!! Learning as i go on the filming side of things that's for sure!! Youll see the changes on some of my newer stuff... But appreciate the comments as always and thanks for watching, lots more on this build to come!! Cheers
