This song is from the album Not Fragile recoded in 1974 and I think it was released the same year or the next year in 1975 So I’m gonna call that 50 years ago friend. I wish it was just 35 years ago it was released.
OMFG, I didn't believe this is Fred Turner... until he started to sing! He still has the same old melodic raw power in his voice. This is so damn good, I got tears in my eyes. And It makes me feel like I am 15 again. Thank you guys!
Gravel truck voice indeed. Turner can still deliver it! This feels so good.... thank you for posting --and thank you Randy Bachman and Fred Turner! I can't stop smiling...
saw this band in a small tavern, held about 250 people.there were about 600 showed.this was in upstate n.y.never had a better time in my life! they rocked the place,a good time was had by all.1986
@@billymickel464 rome,n.y.great place, forgot the name, right on rt.69. you could meet the band in person.just hold a few bar stools at the end off show for the guys.
Randy Bachman is probably the most underrated guitarist on the North American continent. His power cords and riffs are pure rock and roll at its finest; second to none in that genre. Not to mention his incredible songwriting skills. Amazing talent. Still waiting for someone to post a live version of Stonegates.
+Steve Roginski Underrated by whom? They were the biggest band in the WORLD in 1975.Randy Bachman is considered one of the greatest musicians in modern rock history by a swampload of his peers.I don't think you could name a band on earth that hasn't heard this music.
They were AWESOME, but Steve is right, 75 was my time, BTO was again, in my mind, awesome, but not considered one of the best for some stupid reason...maybe not enough exposure,,,and,,,those years? My God we had some good bands,,,Now we have Kanye! barf
To me, it was always a song about life, not just trucks and highways. They nailed it. Long live BTO. RIP Robbie. You’ll be missed. “The time’s real short, you know the distance is long.”
The Northern Bros that kicked down the door to give us our tunes , thank you guys it gave me an entire life up to now of good times. That's what I call my soundtrack of life.
25 years ago I bought my first BTO album, Not Fragile...to this day one of the best in my book. Still rocking it after all these years, they are one of the reasons I picked up the guitar and learned to play. Mr Bachman, Mr Turner..I salute you both, thanks for the great music !
Just saw Randy (and Tal) a couple nights back (11/9/24) at FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Mich. Incredible show. Randy can still rock with the best of them...because he IS one of the best.
Randy and Fred look better than ever, are playing better than ever and I never thought I would see this happen! But it has and it's a hugely better world because of it! Rolling along Rolling along!
Chicago Illinois, 17 years old listening to this on WLS AM The Big 89. Couldn't drive then but I was rollin' down the highway on my bike listening to this.
Love this time of music. It wasn't about who could shred or play the fastest. It was about purity, timing and the clean notes. True vocal clarity was also key.
You should see the yout’s today when I drive down the street with my doors vibrating with this song playing and Randy Bachmans solo blasting through me! I’m 64, and I feel this music just like it did when I was a teenager and pounding on my drum set in the basement over and over and over!🥰
Bachman Turner Overdrive one of my favorite bands freshman year in highschool 14years old now I'm 60years old and I'm still jamming to this tune absolutely love them
16 year old Kid in 1973 Driving a 64 Mercury Park Lane Marauder with the 390 did a lot of rolling down the Highway listening to this, thanks Mom Love you Always! BTO ruled!
Dude I remember them days....Life was more simple and so were people..Rock on Bro Im with you all the way..all the way down the highway/dirt roads as a kid crusin \m/
They NEED to be in the R&R Hall of Fame! They have sold OVER 30 MILLION RECORDS now (Read the rest of their stats)> Their 1970s catalogue included five top-40 albums and six US top-40 singles (11 in Canada). BTO has five certified gold albums and one certified platinum album in the US; in Canada, they have six certified platinum albums and one certified gold album. There are several undeserving bands in the R&R HOF with far less album sales too!
Just a great song, with incredible NRG. The powerful bar-room voice of CF Turner. Then that great solo by Randy Bachman. Just flowing powerful NRG. Good party song!!!
I remember when my brother came home and told me hé had hear a great song on the radio from a band called BTO(bachman turner overdrive). Later that week i went to the recordshop and buy the 'four wheel get drive' album. I turned it almost every day. And today at 2024 i still listening
this right here, b.t.o. these guys will never fade or go out of style. long after they are gone, their music will continue to find new listeners. this is real talent that will stand the test of time. decades from now, most will not remember the teenybopper boy bands, but B.T.O. will be well known & referenced frequently.
My tastes have definitely evolved since this was a hit and I was eating it for breakfast. But what a treat to hear it again. And these old boys can still really nail it. Impressive.
Nice! We're all getting older. Man, that sounds great! Just like the album. My Mom yelled at me every time I played my Not Fragile LP. There was and still is only one way to play BTO.....LOUD! Crank it!
I don't take it for granted...this old Detroit boy has fond memories of Bradors and the "ballet" in Windsor. It really is still "pax Britanica" - Cannucks, Aussies, Brits and Yanks are the greatest force for good in the history of mankind.
Fred Turner is now 80 years old in 2024
God Bless him with a long and healthy life!
That's why they call it rock and roll😊

Oh Man! This wonderful guy has still the fucking rocking voice I cannot believe it!! Let it Roll!!!
More soul in that voice than 10 of todays corporate kid rockers.
Besides Fred’s vocals what makes this extra special is their choice to play it mirror exact to the 45 single, especially Randy’s solo
Fred still kills the vocals and the bass...Never drops a note!
Classic rock never dies
BTO will always be one of the best bands of all time in my my book
