    We used to use a little feather jig called a go getter, they came in yellow and white. We caught ice chests full of crappie. No lunkers but good pan fish. Best fresh water fish out there. Clean white meat. 1962 lake Isabella ca, man I sure do miss my dad and brother john both gone now. I still fish Isabella and catch crappie in the tree tops. This show really takes me back 60 years or so ago.

    So you use 2 different split sot sinkers, 10” above the pop eye then place another split shot above the bobber. How far above the bobber

    • @ExtremeAnglerTV
      @ExtremeAnglerTV  4 роки тому

      Thats not a split shot above the bobber, it is a bobber stop; this stopper is adjusted to different depths so my bait is exactly where I want it in the water column

    Nice. Is 18inches below weight about the standard depth for a line?

    • @ExtremeAnglerTV
      @ExtremeAnglerTV  5 років тому

      all depends on the depth fish are feeding; we alter the depth between bobber and bait accordingly each outing until we find the depth the fish are feeding, which is usually slightly higher in the water column then they are situated.

      Marcus, we will be honest with you, this small back bay off of a large lake could not handle the pressure and would be devastated in no time at all; some locations are better left as little gems that we all have and like to fish w/o a lot of pressure. • @ExtremeAnglerTV
      @ExtremeAnglerTV  5 років тому

      yea that's no problem with using a slip bobber as apposed to using a stationary bobber or cork float; with the slip float you can adjust the depth of the bait to any depth the fish are suspended.

      How do you know how many people fish here??? lol. Thats quite the statement when you have never fished here? Every lake has pressure, its up to you to find locations on public lakes that hold fish and figure out how to catch them. Everyone uses plastic these days, the hair jig is an alternative that works.

    • @ptcast709

      @@ExtremeAnglerTV Most proven jigs are effective anywhere there is fish and I agree that it's a search and find but there are areas just less pressured due to accessibility for example people who don't have boats.

That being said, most people are using their phone instead of a laptop so the screen is obviously much smaller and even the pop up does not show up very big and not quite long enough time to really get a good look at it.

      Crappie are actually an invasive specie in some areas/lakes, when it comes to Bass, it's all about the hunt, not the kill. The sheer #'s of crappie in some lakes is countless and they are a catch and eat choice of many.
