    I did it, and it works pretty good! Thanks for the tip guys. The tubes were just about $2.50.
    People without glasses couldn't imagine how they limit and cause annoyance during activities. I just moved apartments and carrying boxes using both hands means your glasses slip down and there was nothing I could do. Everyday activities and working are slower when you have to push your glasses up ever 2 minutes to be able to see.

    I didn't have those plastic thingys laying around, and I wanted to fix my glasses fast! so what I did is I bent the "elbows" of the arms a little bit towards the lenses and it worked like a charm!

    I use Urban Decay's De-Slick primer on the bridge of my nose. It helps loads. I normally have to re-apply two or three times a day, but I have pretty oily skin so others may not have that issue.

    Sunglasses counters at major department stores usually have a machine that heats the arms and bends them inward to re-tighten the fit.

  • @munky9284
    @munky9284 4 роки тому +2

    Or, you can get a hairdryer and heat the arms of the glasses to be pliable enough to slowly bend them to the shape you wish, and when they are snug against your ears, they won't slide down.

  • @loh1110
    @loh1110 8 років тому +2

    If you have access to a heat gun or hotbox, might as well heat the temple and permanently bend it inward or downward to ultimately shorten the length of the arms - permanent fix

  • @zhengcl
    @zhengcl 11 років тому

    i got mine from home depot, after a few months of using it i recommend being generous on the tube and cover most of the arm after the bend, i find it a little less irritating on the ears if the tubes are extended over the arms so its not sitting on your ear when you put it on, so it extends over your ears

  • @IllxllI
    @IllxllI 8 років тому +3

    You can fix this by just bending the arms actually. Some plastic arms may bend, others may not, so just check to see if yours are bendable. If they're slipping, you bend the arms more downward which sticks better on to your ears/head. Won't slide as much now.

  • @radavis77
    @radavis77 11 років тому

    i would also suggest either small rubber bands or small hair bands (braces bands also work). wrap them around a few times. i put one where the frame crosses my ears, and one on the back to catch my hair.

      Use a normal-sized rubber band for each side. It has the same effect for something that is cheaper and way easier to find. just try not to break the rubber band. you can adjust the position of the rubber band way more easily as well.

      You can easily shrink the tubing by quickly moving the flame of a lighter or match under it. I do it all the time when using heat shrink tubing for electronics too and am too lazy to pull out the heat gun. The heat from a soldering iron also works, but not suggested for glasses just in case you accidentally touch the glasses with the hot soldering iron tip.

    I make tips from oxygen cannula nose pieces that work very well for me. I cut them right between the nostril protusions and far enough back to get a tight fit over the ear pieces of the glasses. Then slip them on your ear pieces with the nostril protrusions pointing down. If you know someone using an oxygen concentrator just have them save their old cannula for you, the super soft cannula are best.

    My glasses slip a lot because the frames are all messed up I need an adjustment, but my dust mask with the ear straps I use at work holds them real good. There are also rubber tips you can buy on amazon that serve the same purpose as this heat shrink tubing.

    You don't need a heat gun. Just carefully run it over your stove (I have a gas stove). It shrunk tight in seconds. Worked like a charm. No more slipping! Thanks for the help. Found the size polyolefin I needed at Ace Hardware. Size 8 worked for my sunglasses and size 6 worked for my reading glasses.

    You can get the same assorted sizes pack he did in the video (if you're not sure what size you need) at Ace Hardware and they will cut the tubing and heat-shrink it on using their heat gun for free. They did it with my glasses and also on my DE shaver for extra grip. And if you don't have an Ace Hardware near you, I guarantee Home Depot or Menards will do the same for free. It takes less than five minutes to find what you need and have them heat-shrink it on. No brainer...
