    INCREDIBLE demo and total review on this Blackstar ID:Core Amp. This thing is awesome. My understanding is that with the software that you show on the computer screen that there is even a section where one can put in either a Wav or Mp3 file of a favorite song and slow it down so it's even easier for the player to learn the song. I also love that the effects can be adjusted via the software for the player to get finer tuning of the effect that they may want to hear.
    Thanks for doing this one TK hope I can perhaps purchase one of these in the near future to add to my array of gear.

      Hi I have a question, these 2x 6.5" speakers can have enough basses like one 8" speaker in the room? I want to buy 20W version with 2x 5" and I want to know if basses sounds better in small room or worse. thx

    ID Core has 2 adjustable noise gates so no worry about hissing. By the way, each amplifier is a source of noise if your guitar is too close to it. This is the only combo playing stereo MP3 backing tracks via 2 speakers, which is good for practicing. Emulated stereo guitar is just a bonus. More over, you can connect your combo to a PA system without micing and including emulation of cabinets. Unfortunately the sound from this combo is turned off in that case.

    • @beenay18
      @beenay18 7 років тому

      are there noise gate knobs on amplifier? I guess they are not on amp but on the software. Don't know if I am right or wrong?
      What is Emulated stereo guitar. How do I use it?

    • @rafsza
      @rafsza 7 років тому

      You are correct. ' OFF', 'LOW' and 'HIGH' .settings are accessible only in Insider software configuration. Mono guitar signal processed in ID Core can be sent to 2 built-in speakers or to recording system as emulated stereo.

    I have also Fender Mustang 100 v.2, which benefits from emulation of many favourite pedal clones, amps and has Celestion speakers. Blackstar lacks this features so I use different pedals to enrich its sound diversity when practising or recording. Though Celection speakers sound excellent with guitars, Blackstar sounds better with backing tracks.

    • @DavidRFIT

      The hiss is NOT normal. Many ID Cores don't suffer from that. Many do. But that's definitely not a "feature". It's all well documented on Blackstar official forum.

    I just bought one of these and everything is working perfectly including speakers and firmware update but personally I think it's cheesy sounding and just fairly decent through head phones so I sent it back. The online community library is a ghost town. My Vox VT20+ Valvetronix is way better and was only 20 dollars more, a much better deal. Not sure about the Blackstar 100 and the 150 since they haven't been released yet.

    Buying a Blackstar ID:Core series is a HUGE guess. Many of them have defected speakers that give serious hissing problems . All of this is well documented online and right in the Blackstar official forums.
    Hoping to find a Core 20 without any issue, I went to a local store and I contacted a guy who was selling one that he bought only 5 months ago. Guess what? In the store I tried a 10 and a 20 and they both had the hissing issue. The used one from that guy had the issue too. 3 out of 3. I mean, come on!
    A few days ago I was almost sure to buy a ID:Core 20 because on paper (and according to several reviews on UA-cam) it was the perfect amp for me, but I changed my mind big time after a more serious research.
    Even if you are lucky enough to find one without the hissing problem (and that seems to be hard to do), you still have the firmware upgrade matter: many ID:Cores just die after you upgrade them via the official software. This, too, is documentend on the official Blackstar forum and in many others.

      I have an ID:Core 20. Does my amp have hiss? It's not high pitched, but it's just a quiet white noise. I'm not sure if this is hissing or not. Is it supposed to be completely silent?

      But when I adjust the the guitar cable near the guitar hole where you insert that cable, there is no noise. I don't know if there is something wrong with the cable or with the guitar hole where you insert the cable. If anyone has such issue and know how to fix it please help me out.

    Hi there I have a question. These amps don't come with a foot swtich pedal, right? But I can see the foot swtich I/O .. Okay so the thing is I believe these are lower priced blackstar series but like say if you spend $129 for this amp are you still be willing to spend another $60 or $100 for the foot switch only! Is there any alternative to that. I'm really looking forward to getting one these amps but I'm worried about the foot switch thing. WIll other (cheaper may be) foot switches work, if so can it toggle between channels like it used to do in the HT- series. Thanks!

    Complete noob to eletcric guitar/amp here. Connecting anything to FM Out & Phones sounds muddy and warbly with a noticeable hiss, far from what I expected from a set of stereo full range speakers. If you want to use the MP3/Line in plug to listen to music through this amp like I did, think about your set up again... this won't provide a studio monitor/headphone level of output. It's hilariously fun though if you want to use it to play your guitar through with all sorts of awesome distortions. ... TLDR: Vague audiophiles, don't think of using this amp as a set of MP3 speakers.

The EQ did zero to address the fizz or add low end. I played an MP3 through it and it was nowhere near what an average set of powered monitors can do. I'm hear to do more research. TK's OD demos were terrible. I wanted to buy this but think I'll pass.

    you can hear the background noise in the video even in clean channel.
    Once plugging guitar cable or usb cable, My Blackstar ID core 10 starts hissing even no gain and volume. very annoying. many reported the same hiss issue here.

      My blackstar amp also produce hissing sound even on muted guitar. But at times hissing sound goes away and amp is silent when guitar is muted.
      It turned out that something was wrong with the connection of my guitar and cable. I don't know if the connection is a bit loose or there is something else wrong. May be I should try new guitar cable. I don't know if the hole on my guitar where you insert cable is loose. please help me fix this problem if someone else is also having the same issue. Because my amp doesn't make noise when I pull or push my cable near the guitar hole to certain positions.

      Hissing should dissapear immediatelly after pulling your guitar cable out of your ID Core input. (It is the same kind of muting like on your guitar - connecting your guitar signal to earth). If it does, you don''t need to check your cable or guitar further. Your amp is the source of hissing. Though USB cable, 9V pedal adapters or PC power supply of poor quality can be sources of hissing too. Try to disconnect also them to find the source of hissing if necessary. My ID Core 20 doesn't hiss at all and speakers in super wide stereo mode sound nice sound on a stage and at practising.

      I don't have hissing sound when guitar cable is not pluged in the amplifier but there is loud noise when one end of cable is connected to amplifier and another end is not connected to guitar. Is it normal?

    I don't get the point of these stereo amps because what comes out both speaker is the same so you don't get a stereo effect nor do you through headphones.

      It's a recording amp.

      Goosemeyer Its not, but lets say it really is, you still need to mic it with 2 different mic's to get the "stereo effect", and in that case you can just mic one speaker of a normal amp with two mic's.
      Oh and by the way if its a recording amp you don't need it to be stereo, because in the studio you have the time to record everything twice, to make it real stereo.

      For phasing effects and chorus you could have true stereo, also rotary speaker simulation works better in stereo. I have no idea if this amp does them, just saying :)

      ***** Chorus and flanger effects get their sounds from blending wet and dry signals, so it can just be used with a single speaker.
      Two speakers might be good when using rotary speaker effect, but i don't see one on this amp, and of course i don't see any reason to buy this amp just for this effect.

    95.00 dollars to work on it, buy a quality amp. My cleans are good O.D. Voices are not so good.

    “Tone” king is obviously a self proclaimed name.... his tone is painful.... way too much treble...sounds like a 13 yr old wannabe.

    Played it today at Sam Ash. Sounded pretty good through super crunch. Both OD's sounded like pure fizzle to my ears even at the low gain settings. The EQ did zero to address the fizz or add low end. I played an MP3 through it and it was nowhere near what an average set of powered monitors can do. I'm hear to do more research. TK's OD demos were terrible. I wanted to buy this but think I'll pass.
