- The CZ Redhead Premier is the mid-tier field double from CZ. It offers reliability with a matte silver receiver and jeweled action. More intricate scrollwork engraving than its cousin the CZ Drake. We'll be testing this shotgun over the next few weeks on the back 40 to see how we like shooting it.

In the market for an all steel O/U in 20 gauge. Will shoot mostly clays and some upland game. Seem to have narrowed it down to the Franchi Instinct LX 20 and the CZ Redhead Premier 20. I recognize there is a price difference. If that didn't matter, which one would you choose and why? Thx much for your assistance.
Instinct LX, fit and finish is gonna be nicer and has the auto safety reset we prefer on field guns. Also, the Italians have been making modern doubles a lot longer than the turks, so I trust their mechanicals more.
I just bought a CZ Teal o/u from Bass Pro. It’s apparently a Drake receiver with the Premier barrels. Or maybe it’s the Premier with a blued receiver. Got it for about $300 less than the Premier. For $650 it’s not a bad little shotgun.
Great price point for these CZ, really tough to beat the value.
I’ve had my eye on the 20ga premier all terrain.
Nice looking guns
I like the all-terrain finish. Cerakote tends to wear off the edges of metal parts that touch (safety, edges of receivers) - so I’m kinda on the fence.
@@UltimateUpland spent 4 1/2 days in New Hampshire rain last year hunting Grouse. My 20ga CZ Sharptail. Took it like a champ and appreciated the coat of oil later at night😆

Looking for my first OU, all around do it all….what do you look for? What are must-haves, and non-negotiables?
All around, I gotta have a sub 6 lb gun (normally that’s gonna mean an alloy receiver), set of 5 choke tubes, hard case included AND gotta have an automatic safety reset when the action is opened (many clay shooters don’t like this, but for the field, it is the safest version). Reliability and service rank somewhere in there as well, but that’s tough to know until you actually need it.
What do you hunt with primarily. To be specific, be interested to see what you use for quail, chukker, grouse, woodcock. If you only had one?
I have the redhead premier in 16 guage love it also own th 20 guage redhead premier all terrain not crazy for the green might have cerokote in black
I didn't know you could cerakote over top of cerakote. I think the green is interesting, but definitely polarizing.
