That made me sad. Never say never. If it's something you really want, you can make it happen! Start keeping an eye on areas you'd like to live and get to know the market, get your financing in order so you're ready if something becomes available, and keep an eye on available funds for first time homebuyers. Plan to put in some sweat equity to keep the price down! I think a lot of homes will be coming on the market in coming years with the boomer and gen xers starting to downsize or pass on.
Gen Z here. Been looking for a house for around a year. Close on my first home next month. I am not rich, but I do live in a fairly cheap to live area. A piece of advice to you, don’t live above your means just because you might have friends that do. If you want to be a homeowner you have to put in the time and work to save money. And believe me I know how difficult it is now to save money. Best of luck to you and you can accomplish it if it’s something you truly want!
As a nurse watching people get super sick the same year they retire, I want to own my home so badly for that stability. People don't realize that life moves so fast and housing is so important. CONGRATS, you did that!!!! That is so cool imo. I'm miffed I got a townhouse at this high interest rate, but hoping to use it as a rental in future years. My parents are financially illiterate, so most of my adult life is learning from mistakes and long UA-cam research. It feels insurmountable to get ahead nowadays. This was so pleasant to watch, and in the future I hope you make more like it!
Good for you for figuring it all out! Maybe when interest rate come back down you’ll be able to refinance at the lower rate. Thank you so much watching and for the support! 💐
Just bought our first house in January. That pay every 2 weeks is something I hadn’t heard of before, I might try it! Great video as always. Also congratulations on paying off your mortgage, that is such an amazing accomplishment!! 🥳
Funny seeing the difference in mortgages in different countries. Here in New zealand you can fix for 6 months, 1 year, 2 year etc up to 5 years. the lower the time span the higher the rate normally. Seems so crazy to be fixed on the same rate for 30 years!
Dont say that. I recently bought my first home for 80K in Pittsburgh 3 years ago. I was 42. Dont give up, theres still some affordable cities out there.
I feel like so many videos I have are full of stories - it might get repetitive. I think this one has a few, maybe. ua-cam.com/video/89K5mrPYwJQ/v-deo.htmlsi=dE8n3jlKgs-A4m8n

@@brooke_t23 congratulations!! That 2 week thing is where I made a stupid math error - you get one extra payment per year, but still good!
