I was saying this a few years ago as well, his attacking game style is similar to Federer’s. Carlos’ game style is very similar to Rafael as he can be defensive and offensive along with flattening and adding spin to shots.
what an impressive guy. Accuracy, Technique, Speed, Stamina... his calm, pressure resistance, composure, decision making and intelligence are out of this world. coming back in the final from 2-0 to 3-2 was just unbelievable
His talent is exceptional, if he continues playing at the level that is required to succeed, I doubt that he will not be able to be number one in the world before the end of 2023.
His rise continues as he is now one year after this video in the top Five. If he Wins the Rotterdam open this week then he is number Three. He is currently the most consistent nextgen player in the world by far, and easily the hardest to beat.
Sinner is a great young player with a potent game, but it is nothing like Federer's. Sinner is a power baseliner whereas Federer had more of an all-court game. What's more, Federer is possibly the smoothest and most graceful player to ever play the game. Sinner and Federer is not an appropriate comparison.
I think the next Roger Federer will be Carlos Alcaraz. Federer won his first major at Wimbledon 2003 and then won three majors in 2004 and 2007, and two in 2005 and 2006. Fed won his first major when he was 21, the month before turning 22. Alcaraz turns 20 on May 5, 2023, and it would not surprise me to see him take two majors this year. Depending on what Nadal and especially Djokovic still have in the tank, and also depending on whether Sinner, Rune, the Italians and others take a step up, we might be in for an early run of dominance by Alcaraz, similar to what Federer enjoyed until Nadal (almost 5 years younger) and Djokovic (almost 6 years younger) stepped up and started taking the majors from him. Nadal and Djokovic also proved that they were mentally stronger than Federer.
I think he is more like Federer than Alcaraz because he is much calmer and shows less emotions on court. Also no grunting. Other than that you're probably right.
I think Sinner would be like Djokovic . Won few titles but not consistent ... Hard work to improve his game and since 2011 undestroyable . I think Sinner would later achive his pick (and he has few things to improve yet ) . Also same as Nole he was skiing , he is hard working , he takes sport seriously , mental strenght is there, body construction - perfect .... And young ! I see really great future for him . A tons of GS .😊 And possibly longivity Alcaraz - if he improves few things, technik and consistence , mental side also and stays healthy I see for him also great success, sqme as for Sinner . I think Alcaraz plays way too agressive , too much power , same as Nadal ... In youg age its OK , but later he could suffer from injuries ..Those bulky muscles are prone to injuries . I think he should work more on technik and less raw power in order to stay out of injuries in the future. Anyway , I wish all the best for two young players ... When Novak retires I would follow those two . I like them both. Sweet young boys with nce personalities Greetings from Serbia

Everything aside I guess the crowd loves players with self control. It is not the only reason for Fedal popularity but without any doubt that quality helped it. All the old-next gen (Zverev, Medvedev, Tsitsipas and Rublev) have temper issues. Sinner came behind them with a Borgian coolness and control. In that regard Alcaraz is closer to Sinner than the old-next gen (A duo I'd like watch pitted against each other). If he can keep his inner balance it looks like he'll have a number of GS titles. Btw, that video was made before his Aussie title.
Next Federer he definitely is not. Federer used to take the ball so early - I dont think anyone does that because tennis is a different game now. How Federer persisted with that approach is testament to the greatest talent in tennis history and in my opinion the greatest of all time.
I think he is too one demisional in his play. He doesn't come to the net, he doesn't play drop shots. To be one of the greats you generally need this imo
He wins one GS and is the best in the world, let the kids play and time will tell. The next player that wins a GM will be the next best player in history an so on... Ridiculoud
Prefer Alcaraz’s persona. However Sinner and Alcaraz are friends and pretty equal with their talent. Alcaraz beat Sinner recently at Indian Wells but it could have gone either way. Love Nadal and Federer and yet Djokovic is supposed to be the best ever. Personality is the key to the number of fans a tennis player has, regardless of how many times they win. Always go for Alcaraz but I love Sinner too.
I've yet to see Sinner play live in a stadium, but from what I have seen on TV since 2020, I think Sinner has a long way to go before becomming a top player. So far, in a lot of critical situations in his biggest matches, Sinner has made errors, sometimes unforced. That at the moment shows a lack of composure. That can be fixed if he works hard at it. But also, even if on the surface Sinner appears very talented (which he is), his game is a bit too limited to get to the very top. He needs to expand his game considerably if he wants to go further. Otherwise we are looking at another Thomas Berdych, a tall player who hits the ball big but no real inspiration. We have seen too many of those Exhibit A players in men's tennis since the 2000s. So, we will see if Sinner will be the exception rather than the rule, and win multiple grand slam tournaments.
@@DrMic2112 I think you will find this video is not about whether Sinner can be a good top 10 player for the next few years, its about whether he can become number 1 and win multiple majors. He has a long way to go to bridge that large gap.
@@BurnsTennis was not responding to the gist of the video. I was specifically responding to your comment of "Sinner has a long way to go before becoming a top player" He already is a top player. Being in the top 10 already makes him a top player. Unless of course you mean a top player of all time. But if we use that standard, then none of the current top 10 would be considered "top" players. If you look at top 10 now (other than Djokovic obviously), there are only two grand slams among the top 9 players.
@@DrMic2112 Okay understood. Sinner doesn't want to be remembered as a solid top 10 player, he wants to win majors. So, take Marat Safin. World number 1 for a few weeks. Won US Open and Australian Open, lost two Australian Open finals. That makes Safin a great player. Therefore, if Sinner finishes up with Marat Safin type accomplishments, that will be great. If he can win five to eight majors, that would be even better. That's what Sinner will be aiming for, not just to be a top 10 player. However, back to my original comment, getting there is a different kettle of fish, at the moment he has a few weaknesses he needs to overcome. Hopefully Darren Cahill will help him on his way.
Yes. Many nadal like and djoko like players will come in the near future, but never another federer like. Reason- Federer was, is and will be the most skilled , unique player to ever play this sport. He will be always Mr.Tennis
Great player. He might be the next Federer in terms of tennis. But Federer is classy, handsome and his game is beautiful. Sinner looks a bit weird. His game is very effective but not particularly beautiful
Sinner may get more grand slams. But it will take ages to build legacy like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. He cannot be like anyone of them.
haha typical fed fan, sinner is much more like Nole and not the same as Roger Stop becoming a mouthpiece and embrace the rivalry to resemble Fed and Nadal
He might be better than Roger but everyone is better now. Sinner has not been beating ANYONE easily lately, he has been only winning by a few points against low ranked players, and playing 3-setters more than he used to. I predict he will float around the top 20 for the next couple years before drifting even further down in the rankings. He’s not going to maintain consistency.
I was saying this a few years ago as well, his attacking game style is similar to Federer’s.
Carlos’ game style is very similar to Rafael as he can be defensive and offensive along with flattening and adding spin to shots.
Love Sinner's attitude on the court. Calm, focused and is not air headed. Definitely a player to watch in the future.🤩

I stop watching tennis after Federer retired. Now I have someone to cheer, Jannik Sinner.
Cheers!

This aged well. The legendary US Open 1/4 final bet. Sinner / Alcaraz was 2 nights ago.
Sinner is phenom!!
there will never be a next federer he was the most skilled player ever that's why in the goat debate he is beyond the only archievement
There is only one fed ❤ and there is only one sinner ❤
E se lo dice il più forte tennista di tutti i tempi ci crediamo
Sure he'll be number 1. And he will also win multiple Majors. His tennis is not only great but his on court demeanor is Borg like. Very calm.
As you can say that, he must improve some hits, at net...
This comment aged like fine wine.
Jannik is an amazing human being.
I don't know if he will win Slam, may be not, but I love his attitude on the court.
Beautiful to watch! Like Federer!
A year and a half ago that was a risky call. Bravo.

First Italian number 1
No one is going to be the next anyone. Jannik is his own man and will be great with his own style.

That's true, Sinner is more similar to Novak as a player.
Sinner alcaraz are the new gen federer nadal for sure 😊
