Jimmy is a great guy. The solo is an excellent demonstration that it isn't just the left hand that is important to the sound but the right one as well.
I think we're all jealous of how little room Jimmy Johnson needs to "spread out". :)Love you guys~ The Bandmates are the untold story of the Holdsworth Legend.
Allan Holdsworth was my favorite musician of all time and through his records I was introduced to great musicians like Gary, Jimmy, and Steve. So cool to see Gary playing on a big kit again! And although Allan played with a lot of different bassists, Jimmy Johnson will always be THE Holdsworth bassist, in my mind.
Jimmy has been my favorite bass player for decades now, but ever so often I discover a solo by him and get blown away yet again. Much respect to all bass players out there, but there's no one that fits bass notes so beautifully in the tune when soloing, than Jimmy. If tunes are stories, he's always telling a sub-story that's at the same time surprising and complementary to the narrative. Not to mention the absolute genius that's his pedaling notes while playing others (I find that super hard to do well). I'm not a musician anymore, but I hope I still have the chance to meet this guy some day and thank him for the impact he had on Music.
I just got meet Jimmy in Nashville on the 12th at James Taylor's concert. Had no idea I would even have the chance to meet him but there He was at the sound board talking to the crew before the show. Man, he was so very nice and took the time to talk. Class all the way!!! You never know when opportunities rise!!
JJ is a God, but don't tell him that. He'll disown you. Too humble. Totally sounds like a synthaxe. Steve Hunt is a master, and Gary is the BEST !!!!!!!!
Hi Gary, Jimmy and Steve, Lovely music! My favorite! Super congrats! I feel this is what Allan would want for you guys. Hats off to all Holdsworth allum. Thank you!
Red kit is beauty, sonically & visually, and Steve joins Chick in pantheon of clavierist/composer cohort you’ve ably supported. Jimmy, as always, f*ing brilliant Kydos, GH
I was skeptical when Jimmy Johnson emerged as bassist in Allan's band. Without saying a word, his playing sold me. I don't think he's learned a single hook.....doesn't need them to play his style. Such warmth, friendliness, introspection. Also pleased to see Steve writing and playing such a wonderful track. And Gary, he's my favorite drummer, so that should cover that.
what a great melody! Oh man! Your accents, their placement and instrumentation makes it even more special. I immediately had to sit down at the piano to learn the tune. Couldn't stop - until 3:30 at night. Then home by bike, breathing the wonderful air outside, with Mr. Hunt's melody on my mind. Great band! Thanks!
We are in a "dodgy boat" now but without you everything would be much more difficult. You three keep vibrating in "that" beautiful way and this music proves it one more time. We know that Allan (a certain equivalent to Tesla but of the guitar) is already part of the whole and therefore is in all of us. Thank you very much for continuing to provide us with these unique ways of playing and thank you also for having been prisms of his vision.
What a beautiful masterpiece! Sonically and musically just omg unreal delicious! Very inspiring! My favorite drummer of all time.Thank you sir Gary for all the music inspiration.Brilliant!
Wow , this is a great piece in memory of one of the most original guitarists that ever walked the earth. And played by his former "bandmates" it means even more. I can Hear Mr. Holdsworth say.......
Wow! Discovered Mr. Hunt's work through finding his Elektrik Market project and then digging from there I saw he played for my favourite fusion guitarist! Didn't add 1 and 2 to find he played during one of my favourite drummers' stint with Allan as well! Great tune guys.
Hey...... What are you guy's playin'? Jazz ?? Is That what you call it ?? I "LOVE" JAZZ ..... ! Holy Sh** That was fantastic guy's !! pfff I could hear Allan too in my head !! Love you with all of my heart, guys! This is what we need in these strange times. I am listening to progressive jazz from age 19 or so, wow, and I am still amazed of the wonderful pieces you guys write and play in all these years ! Many thank from FantasticoAdisas in The Netherlands
Sounds like SAND ... Ahhhh listened to that album a MILLION times on acid in the 90's.
Jimmy is a great guy. The solo is an excellent demonstration that it isn't just the left hand that is important to the sound but the right one as well.
Nobody plays drums like Gary.
You are too kind. Thank you 🙏🙂
Jimmy's solo is lovely! 👌

YES !!!!!!!!!!!! Jimmy Johnson is THE bassist.
Absolutely!
Yess !!! Quelle plaisir aux oreilles et à l’esprit 🙏❤️
That was absolutely BRILLIANT! JJ's bass plaing is phenomenal as is the rest of the band!
Impeccable musicianship by impeccable musicians on a great composition!!!

Gary this is fantastic.
That's some beautiful music!
Pure bliss. This is one of those pieces that I could listen to a daily basis, like a pick-me-up. Just leaves me with a smile on my face a mile wide.
I have the same happy problem
JJ is a God, but don't tell him that. He'll disown you. Too humble. Totally sounds like a synthaxe. Steve Hunt is a master, and Gary is the BEST !!!!!!!!
Music that soothes the soul. Beautiful!
Gary Husband ,what a high class musician who can play two instruments at the best level, right up there. yes sir!
Absolutely extraordinary
Definitely a unique chemistry between these guys, sounds like hearing old friends again…this is brilliant.
Haven’t watched this in quite some time … Wow, the beauty.
Steve Hunt pure genius
This is just beautiful! What a wonderful reunion of talent and skill in service of an amazing composition. Jimmy is one of my heroes.
Jimmy Johnson is probably one of the top 5 bass players (if not the best) in the world today.
Beau !
Bravo...
J'aime beaucoup.
I want to roll this up and smoke it whilst listening to it.
We Love you gentlemen immensely. Thank you from the heart for this brilliant composition and performance. Allan is smiling. I know it.

Great playing! Jimmy Johnson !!!
When you strip away Alan this is still Alan. Alan will live on in these three beautiful humans
Fantástica reunião. Allan in another dimension is paying attention to Hunt´s chords and this lead from Gary and Johnson !
Hearing a little "Dodgy Boat" in those keyboards... Glad I clicked on this. Carry on, indeed, fellas - amazing, thanks for sharing.
Jimmy Johnson the melodic Master.
Sheer magic!
THANK YOU FOR THIS. Its too beautiful!
Sounds like Steve is using the SynthAxe patch on his keyboard - reminds me of Allan's work on _Secrets_ and _Wardenclyffe Tower_
Actually it may have been Hunt's patch. He sounded not terribly unlike Allan+Synthaxe. They're all such brilliant players.
No words for this piece.. Pure music. ❤️🙏
Beautiful indeed ... as one would expect from three sensitive, mega-talented musicians. One can feel Mr.Holdsworth's quiet and complete approval...
Superb. Jimmy not mixed in quite loud enough though
Great to see my fave of Allan's lineups reuniting (even without the Master's presence)
I love everything about this!
Love this Great feel ❤️🥁🙏🏽🙏🏽
Red kit is beauty, sonically & visually, and Steve joins Chick in pantheon of clavierist/composer cohort you’ve ably supported. Jimmy, as always, f*ing brilliant

Blimey, don’t really know what to say about that. Marvellous performance by three legendary musicians.
