10:19 To make the "video scanline phase shift" slider work, you need to set its value to 90 or 180. At 90 diagonal lines will be visible on the video, at 180 in the form of a grid. This effect is most noticeable when "vhs emulating" is turned off.
There is actually a better progam called NTSC-RS which is a port of NTSCqt and it has way more settings and more customisation. It's also more realistic (with the correct settings atleast). It would be really nice if you did a video on it so more people will know about it.
This is absolutly amazing. The only thing i would add to this program is tracking scan lines. Edit: Ive used ntscQT before, it does not have an option to add tracking static lines. When i said scan lines before, i meant those white lines that randomly pop up on VHS video when dirt gets on the magnetic tape.
That's really cool, I was actually considering writing a program like that myself, for exactly the purpose of just adding realistic VHS effects to video. But this is perfect, everything I wanted in one free software solution. Thanks UA-cam algorithm for recommending and thank you Jonah for showing this fantastic software.
I have a solution as someone making a VHS show/series! If you have longer episodes like mine, e.g. about 30 min to an hour, split the video into about 5 to 10 chunks and just render those each at a time!!
Oh god finally, thank you for sharing this cool software. I was really tired of watching same cheap vhs videos over and over, videos on surface of youtube are so useless.
Yeah, this little program does produce the best VHS effects I've seen so far, much better than those after effects and premiere templates do. Also, it can give images VHS look which is what I am looking for. I just want some images to look like VHS instead of some videos so I really dont want to use AE or Pr and in Photoshop it is just not that convenient to do. Thanks bro, this helps me a lot and I mean it.
Thank you so much! The results do look different because vhs tapes are recorded on the 3 x 4 ratio. So next time just crop your video into that! But thanks because I haven’t been in love with my vhs filter lately
Just like NTSCQT which meant to create realistic VHS effect, we need a similar software like this but to reverse the effect (ideal for VHS old memories restoration). Btw, greetings from Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas.
The code for this program is actually based around a algorithm that was used for removing VHS artifacts. I don't know if there's a program out there to do the reverse of what NTSCQT does though ...
I know the vids a year old but NTSC-QT is no longer receiving any sort of updates from what I gathered, but they do link 2 alternatives one of which being NTSC-RS which is insanely good and can be easily added to editing programs as a plugin (for example I just found out I can do it in davinci resolve, the program I use which is siiiiiiiick)
amazing software! technical issue: only the audio plays along with the first frame of the original file (mp4). what more needs to be done after exporting it?
NTSCRS is far better and has less compression (And actually looks more realistic, I used to convert MP4s into VHS back into MP4s, and I can easily say NTSCRS is the closest you'll get to the real thing). They even have it for premiere/after effects (Which is how I do it, it gives you automation controls to change how heavy the effects can get).
Now I want a program to make that static noise the old vhs tv shows had when the people stopped talking. Idk if I’m explaining my self right, but I hope someone knows how to do that effect.
yo PLEASE make a MAC veresion of this, i can't open exe files. and all the exe file converters are not working, a lot haven't been updated in years. i'll still use this on my PC but it would be nice to have it on my mac since i use it the most thank you for this tho man this shit is SO DOPE

Any link to download that version I can’t find ):

I made a video recently using NTSC-QT and that was my one problem
If you have an Android phone, the Rarevision app has the tracking scan lines option.
You can easily find vhs overlay doing that.
There is a new fork called ntsc rs that have these white lines
@@Dr.Falamin Does it fix the low rendering issue ntscqt has?

I should make a tutorial on that, or I should've included that in this one. It honestly isn't that complicated

Another great tutorial for this program. Thank you!
OMG this looks so good. Ima test this out asap.
This problem has a really big problem IT TAKES TOO TOO MUCH TIME.. I usually render long videos and even in 720.. almost all day rendering
This is probably the biggest problem with this program tbh, even on my mid to high end pc it takes a while
Maybe you could try NTSC-RS? It's basically the same thing but a lot faster.
