Hey Joe (great song, that), And a glorious LP, this. Sounds as heady and bouncy today as it did when I had my first earful back in '66 - I mean '96. Incidentally, and not to bang on about past laurels, but tell your man Kurt for me that the chromatic descending motif of "The Energy Channel" may well be the best, freshest use ever of that old R&R trope. (Someone please upload the "Services" EP in its entirety.) Heasley shall one day be given his due. Must it be posthumous?
Where does this version come from? There's overdubs (horns, strings, harp, etc) on it that aren't on the CD version of Better Can't Make Your Life Better that I own.
Christ, I'm a friend of Kurt's and I never even knew about the UK version. Jeez! But, I dunno. I think on this track, anyway, I agree with about 50% of the overdubs.
I love Lilys but I've never heard these songs after eccsame, and they are heard to hear 🙏
