I grew up in Thailand, watching Shin Chan. I gotta say, this game is so engaging it got me off Xenoblade Chronicles 3!! 😂 It's so charming and wholesome 😊
I’ve been trying to beat Xeno 3 first before playing this one but it just keeps going and going.

The game is massive and I am addicted lol. Love it as much as I love the 1st xenoblade. The world, characters, battle system all are excellent and very customizable. Definitely am having Xeno fever right now.

It's refreshing to see a game like this allowed to exist and be appreciated today tbh.
Shin Chan is classic to me from Adult Swim showings.
Never heard of My Summer Vacation but the vibe is amazing.
Adult Swim? It airs on Disney Channel and another Disney owned channel in India. 😂
Although it's a little bit censored because the original uncensored versions of Shin-chan caused a lot of controversy back when it started airing in India. The government even considered banning it at some point since it was mostly shown on kid focused channel Hungama.
4 Hours in and loving this game, the mixing of Bokunatsu nostalgic summer vibes with Shin Chan, which is show that already produces a ton of nostalgia in many people, is a great combination. Absolutely gorgeous. A pitty about the jokes that got lost in translation though, because there are a few. Other than that, hope the game does great and they bring a new Bokunatsu this time also for the west.
I genuinely feel bad for people that can't appreciate a chill and cozy game like the Summer Vacation series. Not judging or anything, anyone can play what they like, but having narrow tastes is an absolute bummer. There's so much more to gaming than action/violent games. And I'm far from preaching, I love those games too, but variety is the spice of life, don't knock it till you try it, folks.
Theres so much to possibly say as a respone; from not being able to afford a video game or even competition for competitive games. Don't feel bad, such is life. Enjoy it yourself and if there is a community from it then even better.

Damn, I read lots of Crayon Shinchan manga about 20 years ago and became a huge fan of the characters. I never thought in the year of 2022 it would be such a piece of art. The voice actors, artstyle, etc are genuine. Even the jokes in the dialogues, yeah the jokes are like what I expected to be. It's probably just another version of BokuNatsu series but feels like Crayon Shinchan video game is meant to be this way.
8/10 is fair enough but for fans of the Crayon Shinchan it's a must have.
I never read the manga but I did watch the anime. Randomly found it (I think toonami? I know I saw it on my cable tv). Funny thing is none of my other friends ever saw it so I couldn’t ever share my experiences. I was happy when they announced this game. It really is alot of fun. Especially during summer when it’s 100f+ outside daily and I get stuck inside.
It makes me so happy we finally got this game. Released at the exact right time for us in the northern hemisphere too.
I really want to play it, though I'll probably wait for the physical release.
IF there will be one. Afaik nothing is scheduled about it

I'm really enjoying it. Very cute. Kinda wish it had the castillian voice actors but I get why it doesn't. Very chill and beautiful game.
Back when I lived in EU I watched the Gallego Spanish dub and it was goated. I hear the Castellano one was very good too though!
This Shin Chan game is crazy popular here in my country so I really wanted to see what the hype was all about. Glad you reviewed this!

i’ve never heard of this game or this IP before, but i’m so glad i clicked on this review. just from watching the gameplay here, i’ve felt a sense of childhood whimsy that i’ve spent so much of my adulthood trying to find. i’ll be picking this up ASAP
oh. y'know this is gonna sound weird but there are crayon shin-chan movies out there that are definitely worth a watch if this interests you.
my personal favorite is.. ahem.. "Crayon Shin-chan: Fierceness That Invites Storm! The Adult Empire Strikes Back"
yeahh.. it's a mouthful but you can find it online pretty easily to watch with subtitles.
Whatever you do don't watch the Funimation dub. They ruined the spirit of the original by adding unnecessary dirty jokes

@@alchemistofsteel8099 Grew up with the funimation dub on adult swim. I found it to be a lot of fun to watch as a kid. And after seeing some of the original, there is a different feel to its spirit, but I would not say that the dub "ruins" it.
Another shin chan game? I remember watching the show as a kid, so this is so heart warming. Looks so cute so i might have to get this 1
I started this "farming" games with Harvest Moon back in the age of Nintendo 64 and loved this genre ever since. I have never heard of the manga or anime of Shin Chan (i live in Brazil by the way) and by searching "farming" games for Switch I ended up here. Saw you review and bought the game immediatly after and I can't put it down. This game is gorgeous and I love it. Thank you so much for your video and review! 🥰❤️
My first exposure to Shin Chan was when Funimation did the English parody dub! Still some of the best laughs to this day even if all of it was dubbed back in the late 2000s!

I loved watching the original 90s anime when I was younger. The game is super charming and beautiful. I even bought the Japanese physical release, just to get the making of booklet and notebook.
The art style reminds me of "Attack of the Friday Monsters" on 3DS

my first introduction to this series was with Bokunatsu 3 which dad bought and I enjoyed loads

Great review! I bought it last year. I enjoyed the 僕の夏games I imported from Japan. Especially on the ps3 since it’s region (A) free. The little dialogues here and there were quite fun. (My Japanese is okay). When I saw this in the Japanese store I wanted to buy it but I figured it’d come to the US so I waited to get it on my Switch. I can’t read Japanese for too long before it fatigues me. I hope they bring some here or do more. I looooooooove these types of games. And I loved Shin Chan in the 2000s as a teenager who found everything hilarious at the time. Win win for me.

A lot of shinchans jokes are based on japanese wordplay with him usually mishearing what was said or twisting it into something amusing. I caught a lot of them in the jpn original but can understand these are really hard to make work in english without reworking a lot as they just sound weird if plainly translated. This game is a rarity in the west i never in my wildest dreams would imagine a bokunatsu game would ever get a english translation if you ever want to see anyting like this again i suggest you support this as if it bombs i don't think we'll ever see another game ever come over here even in Japan this style of game is really uncommon now it's been a very long time since bokunatsu 4 on psp.
The Dutch dub for this show was legendary
I'm tempted to buy it - the painted backgrounds remind me so much of Harvest Moon Back to Nature and I loved it so much when I was a kid, used to play it with my mom :)

Apparently you have other possibilities if you own any of them. It comes out on the 31st on Steam and it also dropped a few dasy ago on PS4.

Didn't know we were getting this! Booted up my switch to buy it. I really want more of the summer vacation games. I just played and beat attack of the Friday monsters on 3ds after seeing a video on it. I'm now very interested in the older games
Hands down, the absolute funniest manga I've ever read, even more than Azumanga Daioh. Never played any of Shin Chan games, though. This might be my first one.
I can’t believe for all this time I thought the English dub version was legit how the show was, kind of disappointed it’s not an as dirty as the dub made it out to be 😂

This game is kind of fun so far! I loved the Crayons Shin Chan anime series for the longest time!
You can finish the game in 12-15hrs, which I have finished in the chinese vers. Do note if you are playing, WIN THE FIRST CARD GAME, else it will be too difficult to win at the second card game!

It's sad that the Boku no Natsuyasumi games never left japan. Shin-Chan summer vacation is like the first of this series to be available in English.

I disagree. I think "A kiss! That's like the best thing a girl can blow!" is probably the best line.
But there added for the terrible Funimation that ruined the spirit of the show

like densha de go switch, i didnt expect this one to come out in the west eather. and while the first one is playable in japanese just fine, this one really requires some knowledge of japanese so im happy this was localized for us

There was actually a 3d shin chan game on the Wii before this, that also happened to be a launch title in Japan for the Wii, however it was just a generic mini game collection.
